"WILBUR - Rita M. , 78, of Attleboro, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the loving Wife of Emil Wilbur of Attleboro; mother of Mike Wilbur of Attleboro, Marc Wilbur and his husband Alan Adjutant of Milton Mills, NH, Lynne Perry and her husband Sean of Cumberland, RI and Kim Wilbur of Attleboro; Grandmother of Ryan Wilbur of Attleboro and Matt Wilbur of Seattle, WA; Kayla Laporte and her husband Sean of South Attleboro. Loving sister of the late Joseph Gohring, the late Barbara Murphy, Maryann Goulet, Annette Gohring, and Jerry Gohring. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born on November 6, 1944, in Providence, RI. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Irene (Godbout) Gohring. Rita was a resident of Attleboro and worked as a nurse's aide for Bristol Nursing Home and retired from Canterbury Woods. She enjoyed all activities with her many friends at Life Care, Bingo, Painting, Musical Concerts, and movie times. She loved bird watching, especially maintaining her hummingbird feeders at home. Funeral services will be held privately. "

"Vivian Irene Dugas, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, MA, passed away on November 29, 2023, at the age of 92. Vivian was a graduate of Attleboro High School and the Katherine Gibbs School. Later she managed the City of Attleboro Retirement Board, until she retired in 1991. Vivian spent much of her life contributing to her community. She was an active member of the Woman\u0027s Guild at the former St. Stephen\u0027s Church in Attleboro. Throughout her life, she generously gave her time as a volunteer for Sturdy Hospital and Visiting Angels in North Attleboro. She was always willing to help others and was a strong independent woman. Her zest for life was evident in her love for bowling, dancing, and walking her beloved dog. She enjoyed socializing with friends, traveling, and staying active. Vivian was the life of the party with a quick wit and an infectious laugh. Vivian is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Dugas Balducci and her husband John of Chattahoochee Hills, GA and Cheryl Dugas Ethier and her husband Paul of Lincoln, RI; her son, Steven Dugas and his wife Tammy of S. Sutton, NH; her grandchildren, Andrew Ledom of San Antonio, TX, Matthew Ledom of Chattahoochee Hills, GA, Monique Albani-Ethier of West Harford, CT, Renee Daigle of Cumberland, RI, Simone Ethier of Pawtucket, RI, Jessica Dugas of Dover, NH and Amanda Dugas of S. Sutton, NH; her seven great grandchildren; also her siblings, Eileen Demers of Attleboro, Suzanne Holmes of Ft. Meyers, FL and Robert Aussant of Cumberland, RI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Dugas former Attleboro Chief of Police; her parents, Armand and Alida Aussant; her brother-in-law, Robert Demers and Roger Holmes; nephew, Robert Demers Jr; grandson--in-law, Joe Daigle and her close friend Jack Galvin. The family would like to thank the Rhode Island Hospital ER, Trama ICU and Hope Hospice of RI staff for their excellent and supportive care given to Vivian and family. "Gary Steven McKearney, 76, born on December 3, 1946, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, has peacefully left us on November 25, 2023. Gary was a dedicated and generous man, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, whose utmost joy was spending time with his family. Gary was raised in Rehoboth, where he made a warm, welcoming home with his beloved wife, Kimberly. Gary was a proud graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1965. A man of many skills and talents, he worked at Texas Instruments, served as a Police Officer for the Town of Rehoboth, and was the owner and operator of GJM Manufacturing. Gary had a passion for fishing, boating, gardening, restoring antique cars and trucks, riding on his tractors, and woodworking. His dedication extended to the Mason\u0027s Club, where he was an active member contributing to the community. Gary leaves behind his cherished wife Kimberly A. (Wetzel) McKearney of Rehoboth; his daughter Christine J. McKearney-Marcotte of Rehoboth; two sons Gary S. McKearney Jr. and his wife Kristen of Wolfforth, TX and Ryan J. "Victor C. Soares, 77, a reliable, dedicated and loving man, was born on November 8, 1946, in Fall River, MA and passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Throughout his life, Victor demonstrated a tireless commitment to his family, career, and country. A thoughtful man, Victor had a deep love for New England sports, particularly the New England Patriots, and lived a life filled with the joy of golfing, fishing, and time with his favorite buddy, \u0026quot;Bobo\u0026quot;. He resided in Pawtucket, RI for the past 36 years, and was a dedicated accountant by profession. A proud patriot, Victor served his nation in the United States Air Force, obtaining the rank of Sergeant over his four years of service. He was an Attleboro High School graduate from the Class of 1964 and a 1984 Master\u0027s Degree graduate from UMASS Dartmouth, where he later worked for over 30 years. Victor is survived by his son, Matthew Soares and his wife Robyn of Fairhaven; daughter, Bethany Soares-Rosa of Attleboro; brother of Carol Farias and her husband Bert of Onset; also, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three nieces. He was a generous, loving father who placed family at the center of his world. Victor is preceded in death by his father, Victorino C. "Charles Eugene Cartier Jr. , affectionately known as \u0026quot;Gene,\u0026quot; passed away on November 24, 2023. Born in Attleboro, MA on December 28, 1938, Gene spent his life bringing joy to those around him. His adventurous spirit was evident in his love of skiing, fishing, and traveling, always ready to embark on a new journey. Gene treasured his many years at his vacation home in New Hampshire. His charismatic personality shone through in his interactions with others, attracting a broad circle of friends and associates. Gene\u0027s supportive nature was a cornerstone of his character, always there for his loved ones in times of need. Gene is survived by his daughters, Michelle Whall and her husband Michael of North Attleboro and Charlene Cartier and her partner David Farrell both of Attleboro; his son Charles Cartier III and his wife Sandra of Lakeville; his grandson Christopher Cartier of Farmington, NH; his sister Janice Leaden and her husband Jack of Seekonk; his sisters-in-law, Linda Cartier of Brooklyn, CT and Louise Cartier of Troy, ME; also many nieces and nephews and his longtime companion Barbara Fournier of Attleboro. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita Claire (Landroche) Cartier, his father Charles E. Cartier Sr. , and his mother, Irene (Cochran) Cartier, his brothers, Ronald and Robert Cartier, sister Valerie Meunier; also his longtime childhood friends, Bernard Proia, Kenneth Brough and Bradley Redding. Gene\u0027s legacy of love and commitment will live on in those he has left behind. A graduate of Attleboro High School Class of 1957, Gene went on to earn an Associate\u0027s Degree in Accounting from Johnson and Wales. He served as a Navy Seaman from 1957 - 1959, an experience that shaped his character and provided a foundation for his future. Gene was employed in the printing industry for over 20 years with Consolidated Graphics and later ventured into entrepreneurial territory, opening his own company, Attleboro Litho Prep Service (ALPS), until his retirement in 1999. Gene was an active member of the American Legion Post 46 in Conway, New Hampshire, serving his community with passion and dedication.
