Rita Glenn Obituary

Rita Waldrop Glenn of Hillsboro, AL passed away on April 21, 2023. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 27 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Reverend Steve Caudle and Reverend Jamin Grubbs officiating. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Rita Waldrop Glenn is survived by her husband Earl Eugene Glenn, one brother Lurd Waldrop, 2 sons Donald Glenn (Susan) and Brian Glenn (Donna), one daughter Gena Blasingame (Brandon), 6 grandchildren Rebecca Glenn, Rachel Glenn, Allison Glenn, Matthew Glenn, Sara Blasingame and Erin Blasingame. She was preceded in death by her father Belton Waldrop and mother Eulene Howton Waldrop, brothers Silas Waldrop, Bill Waldrop, James Waldrop, Wayne Waldrop, Lynn Waldrop, and sister Kathleen Clark. Rita was born on August 5, 1936 in Fayette County, AL. She graduated as valedictorian from Fayette High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Florence State Teachers college where she met her husband. She attended Trinity Baptist Church where she taught women's Sunday School and held many other positions. She substitute taught at West Morgan School. She was a farm wife and her vegetable garden was her passion.
