Rita Gartner Obituary

Rita May Gartner, 82, of Durham, NC, wife of Jack Gartner, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Rita was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Terry Jacobowitz and Elmer Schonfeld. In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by her children, Gary S. Gartner, and his wife, Susan Saenger, of Durham, NC, Karen Condon, and her husband, David, of Salisbury, NC; grandsons, Sam and Leo Gartner; sister, Ellen Schonfeld of Brooklyn, NY; and her sister-in-law, Diane Reisdorf, of California. A Gathering to share memories will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612, on Wednesday, October 11, at 11:00am.
