(Ballston Lake, NY) Rita C. Bozony, 94, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, with her daughter, Kate, by her side. During her short illness, she was surrounded by family and friends and received many phone and video calls. This was of great encouragement to her as they shared memories and reminisced of their times together. She was thankful for the prayers of so many. They all heard of her longing for Heaven when she would see the love in Jesus' eyes as He greeted her on her Homecoming. Rita was born on July 23, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, to Frederick J. and Irene (Payne) Kussius. Because of a childhood illness, her doctor advised her parents to move to the country, and she resided in Stillwater and later Ballston Lake for the remainder of her long and blessed life. After having been a believer for many years, she was baptized at the age of 70 following Jesus' example. Rita will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend. She worked from home as a laundress while raising her young children. She then worked in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District as a front office secretary at Stevens and Charlton Heights Elementary Schools, retiring in 1986. Rita was known for her hand-made teddy bears, which she lovingly gave to friends for their Grandchildren. Stevens's personnel will remember Hilda, the vacuum teddy bear. Rita loved Gaither gospel music and the songbirds, and flowers in her yard as well as anything related to owls. She loved and interceded for her beloved country. Her unconditional love for others, her wit, and her strong faith will be fond memories for all who were blessed to know her. Rita and her husband of 60 years, James H. Bozony (Jim), built their home on Wakeman Road together. She faithfully cared for him during his many years of illness until his death in 2012. In addition to her husband, Rita is predeceased by her son, James K. Bozony; also her two brothers, Frederick J. Kussius, Jr. and Robert Kussius. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathleen (Kate) Laird of Ballston Lake, NY; grandsons Michael D. Laird of Montana and Thomas D. Laird of Utah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 (Rita's birthday) at 10:30 am at East Glenville Community Church, 335 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302. In lieu of flowers and to honor her memory, a tree may be planted in Rita's name via the Arbor Day Foundation, www. arborday. org, or donations may be made to East Glenville Community Church, www. egcchurch. org .
