Cecilia L. Nartker, 96, the best mother-in-law in the world, passed away the morning of Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born September 13, 1927 to the late Frank A. and Bernadine T. (Warnecke) Sager. On May 8, 1948 she married Robert E. Nartker, who preceded her in death on October 16, 2013. They had been married for 65 years. They were proud parents to five daughters, Cynthia "Cyndi" Kemper, Jan (Dennis) Seffernick, Vicki (Charlie) Walker, Mary (Nick) Mueller and Laura (Paul) Killen; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sara) Kemper, Michele (Balazs) Hargittai, Jennifer Seffernick (Mervyn deSouza), Tricia (Greg) Shinnick, Tracy (Tim) Rowland, James (Tammy) Mueller, Curtis Mueller, Lindsay Roberts (Aaron Smith), Riley (Vannessa) Killen and Andrew Killen; a granddaughter-in-law, Erin (Matt) Kemper/Fischer; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Lexas) Granger, Kevin Kemper, Cecilia "C. J. " and Christina Kemper, Henry and Louis Fischer, Matthew and Stephanie Hargittai, Samantha and Alexandra deSouza, Ainsley and Declan Shinnick, Allison Rowland, Erin, Alexis and Gracelyn Mueller; and great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Andrew and Olivia Kay Mahan, Jayden, Jaxon and Gracelynn Granger. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Donald Jack (Betty) Nartker and Gene Deters. Cecilia was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jerry Kemper; three grandsons, Scott Kemper, Kevin "Spanky" Kemper and Christopher Kemper; and 12 siblings. Cecilia was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a former member of The Altar Rosary Society and The Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Delphos Garden Club. She had been an employee of the Delphos Memorial Home for a number of years. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a. m. on Monday, December 11 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p. m. on Sunday, December 10 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St. , Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p. m. Lisbon- Robert G. "Cal" Calvin, 71, passed away at 11:10pm, Monday, November 13, 2023 at Mercy Health's St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital following a lengthy illness. Cal was born May 14, 1952 in Youngstown, a son of the late Maurice and Jacqueline (Hixson) Calvin. A 1970 graduate of South Range High School, he began working for WRH Insulation for Bill Houlette, then worked for the Lisbon Village Water Department, and later started his own handyman business, until his declining health forced him to retire. Cal was a member of the Lisbon First Christian Church, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman, but most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughter. He is survived and will dearly be missed by his wife, Norma J. (Guy) Calvin, whom he married February 14, 1975; son, Jason R. Calvin; granddaughter, Ondrea Calvin; brothers, Jeff Calvin and Todd Calvin; aunt, Carol; sister-in-law, Beverly Clingerman; niece, Michelle Esposito and several other family members. In addition to his parents, Cal was also preceded in death by his son, Travis R. "Hobbs" Calvin; his sister, Lori Kenney; aunt Gerry, aunt Di and uncle Moe. Hanoverton, Ohio - Margaret Anne "Peggy" (Jones) Leone, 90, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2023, at the Salem Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born May 23, 1933, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Paul and Hanna (Kane) Jones. A 1951 graduate of Ursuline High School, Peggy was an accomplished dancer and had opened her own dance studio at the age of 17. Dancing was always part of her life, and she won many accolades. On August 26, 1953, she married Anthony "Tony" A. Leone at St. Patrick's Church in Youngstown, Ohio. Both were still in love, even after Tony passed away in 2011. His spirit never left her side. Peggy worked at Sears for 20 years in Youngstown. After moving to Guilford Lake, Peggy spent the rest of her working career with the Ohio Welfare Dept. as a Case Worker, which she found quite rewarding. Both Peg and Tony fully supported St. Patrick, St. Dominic (Youngstown) and St. Phillip Neri (Dungannon). Peg was most proud of her civic duties and not only voted in every election, but also worked the polls, starting with the John F. Kennedy staff in 1960. Surviving family members include her sons and their wives, Paul and Lindia (Rosario) Leone, Mike and Missy (Giesy) Leone; son-in-law, Bill Mulholland; grandchildren, Reese Leone, Andrea Leone, Anthony Leone, Junior Cappello and Tony Cappello; and great grandchildren, Mia Leone and Madyson Delany. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony A. Leone; her sister, Larreta (Jones) Kerola; and by her daughter, Tonia Anne (Leone) Mulholland. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 11297 Gavers Rd. , Hanoverton (Dungannon), Ohio, with Rev. Lisbon- Linda Holland, 76, of McAllister Rd. , passed away peacefully at 12:03pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at her cabin with her family by her side following a lengthy illness. Linda was born January 25, 1947 at the Pine Tree Inn, Lisbon, OH. She was a daughter of the late Elmer and Hazel (Lightner) Donnalley, Sr. , and had lived all her life in the Lisbon area. A 1966 Graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, she was a homemaker and had worked as a daycare provider for many years until she retired. She was an active member of the Family Worship Center in Carrollton, OH until the passing of the pastor. Linda was very artistic and enjoyed drawing and had won several awards for her drawings. She is survived by and will be dearly missed and remembered by her daughter, Lana (Frank) Chestnut of Lisbon; son, David P. Holland of Lisbon; sister, Janice Exline of Lisbon; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and one on the way. Linda was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Dustin Davis and by her four brothers. Following her wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed. Private viewing was held for the family. Leetonia- Karen S. Poynter, 73, passed away unexpectedly at 11:12pm, Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center. Karen was born May 20, 1950 in Chester, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Elzie and Ruth (Crawford) Louk and had lived in the area all of her life. A 1970 graduate of Beaver Local High School, she started working at the Salem News in the mid 1980's and then later worked at the Morning Journal, until she retired. A Christian by faith, she was baptized at the Zora Baptist Church in St. Mary's, West Virginia. Karen enjoyed making crafts and collecting Angels, as well as taking day trips in the car. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles "Chuck" Poynter, whom she married April 27, 1970; sons, Charles B. "Brad" (Amy) Poynter and Kenneth A. "Kenny" Poynter; siblings, Wanema Cox, Kenneth Louk, Ralph (Loretta) Louk, and David Louk; grandsons, Michael, Jacob, Zachary, and Cameron Poynter; great granddaughter, Oaklee Poynter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Carol McLaughlin, Kay Nale, and Shirley Eismon. Teresa Ellen (Vandevender) Jordan passed away on Thursday October 19th 2023 at the age of 64 at The Hospice House in Youngstown, OH following her third battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. She was born on September 23, 1959 in Elyria, OH, the daughter of Donald and Stacia Vandevender. She was preceded in death by her mother Stacia Blankenship Miller, her only sibling Randall Vandevender, and her beloved stepfather William Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her father Donald Vandevender of Webster Springs, WV, Melvin "Mel" Jordan, her husband of over 43 yrs, of Lisbon, OH, sons and their spouses, Bradly (Beth) Jordan of Hudson, FL, Brett (Sara) Jordan of East Liverpool, OH, Bart (Jenna) Jordan of Lisbon, OH, grandchildren Aubrey Jordan of Shepherdsville, KY, Ella Jordan of Lisbon, OH, and Bodhi Jordan of Lisbon, OH. Teresa retired from West Point Truck Center as the Office Administrator, where she was loved and treated as family. She obtained her degree from Ohio Valley Business College in 1998 and was honored by being placed on their Wall of Fame. She was previously a Certified Respiratory Therapist and worked at Webster County Memorial Hospital in Webster Springs, WV, Hillsboro Hospital in Hillsboro, OR, and at Highland Medical Supply in Albuquerque, NM. Teresa was the cornerstone of her family which was her greatest joy and being blessed as a mother and as "Mamaw". Teresa was cremated and her ashes will be spread, per her wishes. Harry Leland Bowker, of Salem, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, at Allay Senior Care in Lisbon, Ohio. Born on November 18, 1935, to the late Harry Leroy and Katherine Irene Herrold Bowker, Harry's life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, community, and career. Harry was a proud graduate of Goshen High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Business from Kent State University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career that spanned several decades. Harry initially worked for First National Bank, ultimately retiring from the Office of Thrift Supervision as a federal examiner. His work ethic and integrity were admired by his colleagues and served as an inspiration to many. Harry proudly served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army Reserves. His service to his country was a significant aspect of his life, and he carried the discipline and resilience he acquired during this time throughout his life. Harry was a man of many talents and interests. He was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 305, a testament to his commitment to community service and fellowship. Harry also had a passion for music, showcasing his talents as a singer, guitar player and trombone player. His love for music was infectious, and he often used it as a means to bring joy to those around him. In his later years, Harry found joy in being a part-time auctioneer. His charismatic personality and quick wit made him a favorite amongst the local community. Despite his numerous interests and commitments, Harry always made time for his family, who were the center of his world. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Martha Pearl Bowker, whom he married on May 23, 1959. Harry also leaves behind his children, Arthur Bowker of Berea, and Bonnie (Greg) Buthker of Brookville. His love and wisdom will be missed by his grandchildren, Scotty (Liz) Buthker, Mark Bowker, and Stephanie (Mark) Burilson. Harry's legacy will continue to live on through his six great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Rayland, Vivian, Margaret, Owen, Felicity, Tori, and Sophia, as well as the one on the way. Harry's memory will also be cherished by his brother, Kenneth (Carol) Bowker, of Grand Junction, CO. Harry's life was a testament to his dedication to his family, his commitment to service, and his passion for his interests. His life, full of love and service, will be forever remembered and celebrated by his family and friends. Lisbon-Daniel George Stoffel, 76, passed away peacefully at 9:26am, Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the Salem Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. George was born April 5, 1947 in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Charley and Elizabeth "Betty" (Crawford) Stoffel. A 1965 graduate of Southern Local High School, George began working in the mills in Wellsville, then for the railroad, and then began a 17-year career with the Columbiana County Sheriff's Department where he started as a Deputy, was promoted to Sergeant, and retired as a correctional officer in 2007. George was a member of the Wellsville Masonic Lodge #180, the Wellsville VFW, and the Wellsville Moose Lodge. He also loved watching old western movies, especially when they starred John Wayne. George never met a stranger and enjoyed just sitting and shooting the breeze while enjoying a nice cold beer. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Paula (Hutcheson) Stoffel, whom he married May 26, 1989; daughters, Chelsea Jo (Zack) Lease of Salem and Tammy Stoffel of Wellsville; son, Todd (Paula) Stoffel of Wellsville; brother, Chuck Stoffel of Wellsville; grandchildren, Christopher Mackey, Melissa Heavener, Preston Stoffel, Jessica Mackey, Rileigh Stoffel, Holly Stoffel, Ryan Stoffel, and Oliver Lease; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
