Joycie "Gwen" Holloway Gill, 83, a resident of Baton Rouge, former resident of Ethel and native of Plaquemine, went to her heavenly home on September 5, 2022. She was a Respiratory Therapist at Lane Memorial, retired as a secretary from Gulf States Utilities/Entergy. Visitation will be on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. , Zachary from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 noon conducted by Fr. Don White. Burial will follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary. Gwen is survived by her children, Carol Z. Oglesby(Terry) of Meadville, MS, Brett Zimmerman(Leslie) of Gulfport, MS, Daniel "Bart" Zimmerman(Tracey) of Baton Rouge and Jessica McVea of Baton Rouge, brothers, John T. Holloway, Jr of Austin, TX, Michael Holloway(Judy) of Minden, LA and David Holloway of Spring, TX, grandchildren, Ashley Zimmerman, Amanda "Mandi" Robert, Joshua Dixon, Travis Zimmerman and Thomas H. McVea III and 5 great grandchildren. Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Gill, Jr. , son, Arthur "Artie" Zimmerman, parents, John T. and Virginia Holloway Sr. , brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Holloway and son in law, Gregory "Piper" Dixon. Gwen graduated from ZHS in 1957 and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Lane Memorial Hospital and spent many numerous hours helping with the gift shop for many many years. She was an active WIM member and was a longtime member of Zachary United Methodist Church. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Lieux at The Baton Rouge Clinic, Dr. Paul Dampf at Louisiana Cardiology Associates, Audubon Home Health, Employees and friends of Holly Court Assisted Living and Hospice of Baton Rouge. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's research or any charity of your choice. Gwen enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, beading and traveling. She adored her family, friends and cats and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.Show more

Randi Kay Henry-Morris Beloved and devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend passed away on May 2, 2022 with friends and family by her side. Randi was born October 31, 1988 in Plaquemine, Louisiana. She was a resident of Ascension Parish most of her life. She worked in management while attending cosmetology school at Aveda Institute in Baton Rouge, LA. Randi was an artist, very creative mind and she had this contagious laugh that is truly unforgettable. Randi was a hard and very dedicated employee, always there when you needed her and afraid of nothing. Randi was a selfless person who always took care of anyone in need. Our beautiful sister will be missed dearly. James Scott "Bodie" Southall, Sr., a resident of Plaquemine, died on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was 82 years old and was retired from BASF with 37 years of service. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation continues on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Pastor Paul Ballard. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. He is survived by his daughter, Kay Smith and husband, Kenny. 2 sons, James "Scottie" Southall, Jr. and wife, Rhonda and Jeff "Rooster" Southall and wife, Linda. 2 sisters, Martha Flint and Katy Knaps and a brother, Oscar Southall and wife, Sharon. 6 grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Southall, Rachel (Casey) Hurst, Jamie Smith, Tanner (Jessica) Smith, Austin (Jordan) Southall and Brooks Southall. 5 great grandchildren, Carson Southall, Atticus Southall, Evageline Southall, Bo Southall and James Southall.
