Richard Wismer Obituary

"ONSTED - Richard "Dick" C. Wismer, of Onsted, passed away peacefully Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home. He was 87 years old. He was born July 5, 1935, in Midland, Michigan to Charles and Martha (Hammer) Wismer. On July 5, 1957, Dick married Aileen Wood in Angola, Indiana, and they were blessed with over 65 years together. Dick proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 - 1960 and was stationed in Germany. Dick was the oldest living member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 33 in Toledo with over 70 years in the union. In his retirement Dick worked with his wife and son at Wismer Plumbing \u0026amp; Heating. In addition to his wife, Aileen, he is survived by their children, Anneliese "Lisa" (James) Dailey and Charles (Susan) Wismer, grandchildren, Matthew, Gregory, Emily, Rachael, Leah, Hillary and Katie, and 13 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Gladys and brothers Roy and George. Funeral services will take place at 11 a. m. , Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Betz officiating and military honors conducted by American Legion Post #97. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 3 to 7 p. m. and again Tuesday from 10 a. m. until the service.
