DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Richard Welch Jr. Richard Welch Jr. , 90, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 21, 2022 at his home. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Richard Welch Sr. and Eula Mae Hamby Welch and was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Smith Welch, 3 brothers, Harold, Jimmy, and Charles, and 2 sisters, Evelyn and Helen. Richard was a member of Cherokee Street Baptist Church and retired, after working many years in the textile industry, from JC Wortman. He enjoyed staying busy and loved working in his yard, gardening, carpentry, and working on cars. Richard was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. His guidance and love will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
