Marcia Ann Wink, age 80 of Brainerd formerly of Deer River died on February 12, 2024 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd. She was born on March 7, 1943 in Minneapolis to Glenn and Lorraine (Amundson) Wood. Marcia is survived by one son, Rod (Janell) Wink and one daughter, Angie (Mark) Theis all of Brainerd; three grandchildren, Cody (Jennifer) Stange of Brainerd, Alex (Heather) Wink of Superior, WI, and Adam (Jessica) Stange of Deer River; three great grandchildren, Quinn Stange, Bently Stange, Phyllis Stange and a grandson due in July. Preceding Marcia in death are her parents; her husband Allen and one sister Glenda Price and 2 grandchildren Abby and Evan Wink. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Joyce Johnson, age 94, died peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Woodland – Good Samaritan Society in Brainerd. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 11-2:00 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Belle Prairie. Joyce was born in Little Falls to Edmund and Aurelia Doucette. She finished high school in Little Falls before attending St. Cloud Beauty School and went on to open her own hair salon in Brainerd for 22 years. Joyce then worked for 21 years bartending and six years at a Subway in Brainerd. Joyce was married to Alton “Bud” Johnson for almost 59 years, until his death in 2008. They unfortunately never had children of their own but cherished many others. She felt very blessed to have ‘adopted’ great-grandson, Carter, along with his loving family who included her on many a Holiday. She also felt blessed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. For all those who knew Joyce, she was the life of the party, adventuresome with the most daring spirit, which explains many of her hobbies like race car driving, skiing, snowmobiling, fourwheeling, roller skating, and traveling everywhere she could. Some of her milder hobbies included gardening, fishing, bicycling, golf, pool, playing cards, cribbage, and bowling (where she got a lot more traveling in). Her love for music and dancing was truly a passion. She enjoyed life to its fullest and wanted everyone to do the same. Donna Marie Hanson, age 88 of Brainerd, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Donna was born on December 17, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Esther (Quick) and Vernon Lundeen.Donna will be deeply missed by her children, Doug (Cheryl) Hanson, Tom (Penny) Hanson, and Nancy Hanson; grandchildren, Reed Hanson and Jerry Hanson; siblings, Vernon (Nancy) Lundeen, Duane (Bonita) Lundeen, and Barbara Jenkauski. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hanson (1976); brothers Vincent and John Lundeen; sisters Muriel Howard, Verna Davies, and Sally Hanson.Donna graduated from Aitkin High School in 1953 and married Jerry Hanson in 1956. Donna worked at St Joseph’s hospital in Housekeeping, X-Ray and Physical Therapy for 10 years before earning her LPN degree in 1987 from the Brainerd Vo-Tech. She had a passion for nursing and dedicated herself to caring for others. She went on to work at Kingwood Nursing Home, where her compassion touched the lives of many residents. Donna's commitment to care continued as she served in psychiatric care at the Brainerd State Hospital for 10 years before her retirement. In her retirement, she continued her service to the community as a part-time bailiff at the Crow Wing County Justice Department.Donna’s true joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Donna was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she found fulfillment in volunteering her time and talents. She also enjoyed being an active member of the Brainerd Senior Center, where she engaged in various activities and cherished the time spent with her friends. She had a passion for baking and a sense of adventure for traveling and experiencing new places. She had a love for reading and was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Twins. She had a competitive spirit and loved playing bingo and was unstoppable when it came to playing her favorite card game Widow Whist. Funeral Services for Donna will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Saron Cemetery in Aitkin, Minnesota.
