Teresa Lynn Holmes, age 56 of Martinsville went home to be with her heavenly father on February 27, 2024. Teresa was of the Baptist faith. She was employed by West Rock before coming ill. She loved to laugh and had the biggest smile. She never met a stranger. She is survived by her parents, Levone and Melvin Atwell of Martinsville, her sister, Melissa Lawson and brother-in-law, Tony Lawson and a very special nephew, Brandon W. Lawson. She had a number of uncles, three from Martinsville, one from Tonica, Illinois, one aunt from Welcome, N.C., and one from Bluefield, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Tommie Joe Dandridge III.Steven was a graduate of Martinsville High School class of 1978. Larry Odell Barker, 85, of Martinsville, VA passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife and children after a yearlong battle with kidney disease.Larry was born on October 15, 1938, in Henry County, VA to the late Obie Barker and Ethel Smart. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Barker.He attended Drewey Mason High School and then went into the Army National Guard for six years. He met his lifelong wife, Joan Gauldin Barker of Cascade, at the age of seventeen in 1955. They were married on September 5, 1959, and have been together for sixty-four years.Larry was a supervisor at Sales Knitting Company for thirty-three years. He then drove for various trucking companies until his retirement in 2001.Survivors are his wife, Joan Marie Gauldin Barker of the home; daughters, Lisa Davis (Sammy) of Richmond, VA, Amy Freitag (Ryan) of Clovis, CA, Rana Iten (JJ) of Clemmons, NC, and Dell Bailey (Richard) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Tripp Batliner of Clovis, CA, John Barker Davis of Richmond, VA, Skylar Bailey of Anchorage, AK, and Ellyn Iten of Clemmons, NC; sisters, Judy Eanes (Wayne) of Hope Mills, NC, and Linda Reed (Noel) of Martinsville, VA, and his brother, Jimmy Barker (Louise) of Martinsville, VA.Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. Mr. Leon Hartwell Haynes went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2024, at the age of 89. Mr. Haynes was born on July 18, 1934 to the late Edgar Levi and Blanche Haynes.Mr. Haynes was predeceased by his beautiful wife Gracie Haynes, son Tony Haynes, brothers Willard Haynes, and Clifford Haynes, sisters Ruby Sweda, Lois Gray, Lorene Hutson, and Opal Crowder.Mr. Haynes is survived by a sister, Lucille Roberts, husband Tommy. Brothers James Haynes, wife Patsy, Grover Haynes, late wife Judy, and Larry Haynes, wife Lynda. One daughter Mylinda Sampson, husband Rocky, adopted son Corey Matherly, two step-sons Gary Matherly, wife Lori, Scott Matherly, wife Stephanie. Eleven Grandchildren- Sherri, Tammy, Tony, Michelle, Melissa, Jessica, Kimberly, Michael, Matthew, Justin, Grayson. Twelve Great Grandchildren- Alex, Tracy, Ricco, Josh, Brianna, Quinton, Little Tony, Brooklyn, Maddie, Kendall, Chase, and Lena. He also had a very special loving husky, friend, and confidant Caesar. One Great-Great Grandchild-Charlotte RayMr. Haynes loved his family dearly. He also loved golf, fishing, bowling, and horseshoes. He was pretty good at cornhole too. He was a faithful member of Hollywood Baptist Church for over 25 years, where he was famous for his homemade banana puddings.Mr. Haynes worked many jobs over the years from pulling mobile homes, working in Burlington Mills, to Dan River Mills more than 25 years, and Walker Construction.The family will receive friends at the home of Corey Matherly, preferably in the evenings.Services for Mr. Haynes will be held at Hollywood Baptist Church on Sunday February 25, 2024, 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry C. St. John officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Norris Funeral Service is assisting the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Henry Beam; one son, Bennie Bridgmen; one daughter, Melissa Beam; a brother, Freddy White; and a sister, Emily White.Martha was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Eden, North Carolina. She loved Jesus and praising His name. She was a homemaker and took pride in taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She had such a big heart; she never met a stranger and loved everyone. She was born in Martinsville, VA on September 15, 1941, to the late Dana B. Pettie and the late Martha Walker Pettie.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Valeiger G. Seay, Jr.; two sisters, Ramona Shelton and Monica Moyer; and two brothers, Dana Pettie and Patrick Pettie.Barbara was a graduate of Carver High School, class of 1960. She was employed at Bassett Walker as a supervisor until her retirement. She was a member of The Full Gospel United Holy Church in Bassett, VA. Barbara was a member of the Southern District Union, where she served at the financial secretary for over 35 years. She then continued her worship at Bethel Way Church of Christ in Danville, VA. Barbara enjoyed conducting Bible Study both in her home and at church. She was known to be a fantastic cook and baker, and a talented seamstress.Those left behind to cherish her memory include: one daughter, Karen (Todd) Mignon Grant of Martinsville, VA; two sons, Timothy D. (Cotina) Seay of Rocky Mount, VA, and Derek E.
