Richard Reynolds Obituary

Richard R. "Dick" Reynolds of Sidney Center, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Richard was born in Walton on April 8, 1950 the son of the late Albert J. and Zana Beardslee Reynolds. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1968. He then worked at the Reporter Company and then enlisted in the US Navy, proudly serving his country. Following discharge from the Navy he returned to the reporter for 27 more years as a pressman. He also worked as a stone sawyer for Johnston & Rhodes, East Branch. He was a member of the Twin Rivers Gun Club, Guntown Post 1554, American Legion, Trout Creek; East Branch Fire Dept for 30 plus years and formerly serving as First Assistant Chief; and truck maintenance Captain for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and camping but his favorite game was golf. He also loved cheering on his children and grandchildren playing sports. He was known as "PPD" cheering on the Downsville Eagles' every game. He loved his family dearly as he was a very caring, father, grandfather and friend. Richard is survived by his loving family, his significant other, Lorraine Lambrecht, his daughters, Leanne (Josh) Norwood, SC; Rhonda Reynolds, Hobart; Andrea (Tim) Youngs' Sidney Center; grandchildren, Colin and Chelsea, Devon and Samantha, Arianna and Colton, Evan and Brianna, Logan and Kaden; 2 great-grandchildren, Calum and Keith; brothers, Gene Beardslee, Edwin Reynolds, Glenn Reynolds, Joe Reynolds, Susan Geer, Dawn Colvard and Marjorie Cornwell, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson, Brandon Norwood and a brother, Tim Reynolds. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 1 to 2PM at the American Legion Post 183, 22 Union Street, Sidney where services will be held at 2PM. A luncheon will follow the service. A graveside service will be held at Carroll Cemetery, Trout Creek on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10AM with Full Military honors.
