Richard Poteet Obituary

Richard B. (Rick) Poteet, age 68 of Crossroads drive in Mountain city, passed away Tuesday, May 9,2023 in the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, North Carolina. Rick was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 22,1954 to the late R. H. Poteet and Shirley Taylor Poteet. He was a truck driver for many years. He loved rodeos, golf, going to the beach and was a big Florida Gators fan. Rick was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a graduate of Cocoa Beach High School in Cocoa Beach Florida. Survivors include his son, Colton Poteet and fiance' Brandy and her son Eli; Two brothers, Tim Poteet (Pam) and Scotty Poteet; nieces and nephews, Beth and Raul, Hannah, Jada, Keira, Bella; special friends, Scotty and Tonya Williams and Les and Vanessa Fox. Memorial service for Rick will be Thursday, May 11,2023 at 7 pm in the Charles B. Hux Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Russ Poteet officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 pm - 7 pm prior to the Memorial service.
