"Marcus\u0026nbsp;LaVon\u0026nbsp;Coon\u0026nbsp;was born in\u0026nbsp;Hicksville, OH\u0026nbsp;on\u0026nbsp;July 14, 1933\u0026nbsp;to the late\u0026nbsp;Arden and Vivian (Longberry) Coon. \u0026nbsp;On\u0026nbsp;May 22, 1949, Marcus\u0026nbsp;was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism. \u0026nbsp;In June 1956,\u0026nbsp;Marcus\u0026nbsp;was\u0026nbsp;confirmed\u0026nbsp;in the Christian faith and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus Christ. \u0026nbsp;On August 30, 1952, God gave Marcus\u0026nbsp;the gift\u0026nbsp;of a beloved companion with his wife, Arlene M. \u0026nbsp;Jacobucci; they were married for 71 years. \u0026nbsp;God blessed Marcus in his marriage with\u0026nbsp;4\u0026nbsp;children:\u0026nbsp;Mark Coon and his wife,\u0026nbsp;Cinda;\u0026nbsp;Jeffery Coonand wife,\u0026nbsp;Stacey; Craig Coon and his wife Connie;\u0026nbsp;and Kristin Llewellyn and her husband\u0026nbsp;Lary. \u0026nbsp;From those blessings came an abundance of blessings\u0026nbsp;and joy as Marcus became a Papa and was gifted with\u0026nbsp;8\u0026nbsp;grandchildren: Jennifer\u0026nbsp;DeGlopper\u0026nbsp;(Greg), Gwyn Kubiak (Dave), Matthew Coon (Kenisha), Ryan Coon (Karen), Julie Buchinger (Ryan), Joseph Llewellyn (Melissa), Angela\u0026nbsp;Leithead\u0026nbsp;(Brian), and Jacob Llewellyn (Anna); and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife,\u0026nbsp;children, grandchildren\u0026nbsp;and great-grandchildren, Marcus is survived by his brother, Michael Coon (Kathy)\u0026nbsp;and daughter-in-law, Carol Coon. \u0026nbsp;He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Coon; sister, Kathleen Ryan; sister,\u0026nbsp;Lorinda\u0026nbsp;Wilhelm. Marcus served God is his\u0026nbsp;various vocations in life as a husband, father, papa; as a faithful\u0026nbsp;and loving\u0026nbsp;friend,\u0026nbsp;as a soldier, and as an elder\u0026nbsp;for 43 years\u0026nbsp;and servant in Christ's Church. He was an active and faithful member of\u0026nbsp;Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warren, MI. Above all Marcus loved Jesus, and\u0026nbsp;the gifts God\u0026nbsp;gave him he used to advance God's kingdom. \u0026nbsp;Finally, on\u0026nbsp;November 30, 2023, God called his servant\u0026nbsp;Marcus Coon\u0026nbsp;home to heaven. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. \u0026nbsp;The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, out Lord, for our\u0026nbsp;brother\u0026nbsp;Marcus. Visitation will take place at\u0026nbsp;Mandziuk\u0026nbsp;\u0026amp; Son\u0026nbsp;Funeral Home of Sterling Heights on\u0026nbsp;Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 4 p. m. \u0026nbsp;- 8\u0026nbsp;p. m. and will continue on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warren, MI from\u0026nbsp;10\u0026nbsp;a. m. \u0026nbsp;until the time of the\u0026nbsp;funeral service at 11 a. m.
