Richard (Bo) Monroe Linn Jr, a resident of Lubbock, Texas, went on to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 4, 2023 Viewing will be 3:30-6:00 pm Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton, followed by a visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church Slaton on Monday October 9th at 10:30 am and the internment to follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton Born April 10, 1933, to Mable R Linn and Richard M Linn Sr in San Angelo, Texas Friends and family knew him as "Bo" Bo learned to swim, fish, trap and hunt along the Concho River where he was born and raised Bo had many hobbies, as a young man He loved the Rodeo and was involved in Bare-back Riding while attending San Angelo High School He was a rodeo clown with his mule which he trained himself He also became known as quite a guitar player and song writer At the age of 17, Bo joined the United States Air Force to serve his country during the Korean Conflict Once in Korea, Bo won a base talent show that took him on a tour of Asia playing and singing for the troops on numerous U S Military bases After the war he was stationed in Wyoming for a few years, then on to Washington DC where he completed his military career Bo returned to San Angelo to start his new career as a Railroad Hand He worked as a Conductor for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad for 41 years It was during this time that Bo met and married the love of his life Abisue' Ramos in December of 1962 They had 2 sons whom they dearly loved They raised their boys in Slaton, Texas, where they lived for 50 years before he retired After he retired, he and Abi moved to Lubbock, Texas where they lived together until Bo went to be with the Lord Both Bo and Abi have been members of the First Baptist Church of Slaton since 1962 Bo is preceded in death by his mother Mable R Linn and his father Richard M Linn Sr and grandson, Kevin Edward Linn He is survived by his wife Abisue' Ramos Linn, his son, Richard M Linn III and wife Diane E Linn, of Abilene, Tx son, Dr Jimmy Job Linn, wife Cristi R Linn, of Wildwood, Tx, grandchildren, Ricky Linn of San Antonio, Rebecca Linn of Abilene, Matthew Linn of Nashville Laramie and Abbie Linn of Long View, Landry and Macy Linn of Wildwood, and Makayla and Caden Laird of Kountze And great-granddaughter Collins Cate Linn In lieu of flowers please donate to the First Baptist Church of Slaton in memory of Bo Linn To to the family, please

Judith "Judy" Annette Meurer, 80, of Slaton, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Viewing will be 11:00 am -6:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2023, at Englunds, followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Judy was born on March 1, 1943, in San Angelo to Landis Victor and Augusta Annie Franke. She graduated from Slaton High School in 1961 and married Lee Meurer on July 13, 1961, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton. She worked for many years as a beautician before working alongside Lee at their farm. Later she joined Lee as an insurance agent with the Meurer Agency. She was passionate about her community serving as president of the Slaton Women's Chamber of Commerce and was generous with donations to various organizations. She was active in the P. T. A. and children's sports activities. As a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was also a strong advocate for Family and Marriage Life Programs within the Catholic community. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed quilting, crafts, and sewing, in fact, she often sewed clothes for her children. Her grandchildren's favorite memories are of her sharing her crafting skills through "Grandy Camp". She is preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Lana Meurer. Judy is survived by her husband, Lee; her daughters, Lisa Hatchett and Gary of Lubbock, Lillie Meurer of Slaton, and Tanya McBee and Jeff of Oklahoma; her sons, Mark Meurer and Gail, and John Meurer of Slaton; her brother, John Franke and Bonnie of Sudan; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren: and one great-great grandchild. Jim Vestal Sadler, 87, of Slaton, passed away on November 26, 2023, at home with his family. He was a man of his word, with a steadfast work ethic, and a deep love for his family. Jim along with his family built a successful business, Sadler Monument Works, to provide for his family and serve other families in their time of need. Jim, affectionately known as "Sadman" at golf courses throughout the area, had a love for the sport. He enjoyed spending his leisure time on the greens, honing his skills and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golfers. Born on January 27, 1936, Jim proudly served his country in the Army. His military associations helped shape his character and instilled in him the values of discipline, honor, and dedication. Jim served in the Slaton Little League program as a coach and an umpire for over 28 years sowing into the lives of the youth in Slaton. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Paula Ruth, and 6 of their 7 children: Richard and wife Patty of Lubbock, James and wife JoAnn of Lubbock, Loy and husband Chip Boreing of Slaton, David and wife Cindy of Hobbs, NM, LeAnn and husband Darrel Russell of Springtown, Texas, and John Mark and wife Nicole of Slaton. One son Michael preceded him in breathing his first breath in heaven. He also leaves behind a legacy of 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members. Jim's private family service was held to honor his life and celebrate the memories they shared. The family is grateful to the Lord for the work of Christ throughout Jim's life and the legacy that will be passed down from generation to generation. His life is still our guide. Karen Anderson, 64, of Slaton, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Viewing will be 12:00 pm -5:00 pm Friday, November 24, 2023, at Englunds, followed by a visitation 5-7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Karen was born on August 2, 1959, in Scott City, Kansas to Ramon Ward and Charlotte Evers Clinton. She graduated from high school in Scott City in 1977. She moved to Texas at an early age and eventually settled in Slaton. For many years, she worked in management for Walmart and Walgreens. Most recently, she worked as an administrative assistant at StarCare. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sports and band activities. She also loved her two dogs, Bo and Peanut and she enjoyed going on cruises. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Shawn Clinton. Daniel Bernal, 73, of Slaton, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Visitation will be 6-7:00 pm Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Englunds, including a short service. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Mighty Oak Assembly of God in Slaton. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Southland. There will be a private family viewing only. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Daniel was born August 18, 1950, in San Vicente, Mexico to David and Maria Bernal. He grew up in Midland and Brownwood. Daniel married Mary Pequeno on July 25, 1968, and they moved to Slaton. He worked as an auto body repairman for Bownds Body Shop for 27 years, eventually becoming self-employed continuing in the same field. He loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, Jesus and Mario Bernal and his sister, Petra Bernal.
