Richard Allen Henning, 51, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Richard was born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 1, 1967 to Janet Edwards Stahl of Las Vegas, NV and the late Tommy Al Henning. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Persian Gulf War and was medically discharged in 1995. Richard also served as an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America and as a Major with the Civil Air Patrol. He was the kind of man who was loyal to his family, who took great pride in caring and providing for his wife and eight children. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in the Eastern Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors. Richard is survived by his wife Marjorie Barnes Henning; eight children, Danny Nicks, Jr. and wife Deana, Luada Worrell, Gilbert Nicks, Joshua Allen Henning, Rebecca Adrianna Henning, Katleen Marie Henning, Jayson Alexander Henning and Margie Lee Henning; mother and step-father, Janet and Frederick Stahl; brothers, Timothy Dwayne Henning and wife Liza and Michiel Ray Henning and wife Katleen; step-brother, Greg Stahl; step-sister, Jennifer Stahl; and eleven grandchildren.
