"Richard Edward \u0026quot;Dick\u0026quot; Erickson, age 66 of Portage, IN passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was born on December 26, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Richard and Georgianna (Kozelka) Erickson. Dick is survived by two sisters in law, Angie (John) Sowinski, Lexy (George) Elliott; mother in law, Mary Leontaras; several nieces and nephews; extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy (Leontaras) Erickson; brother, Eddie Kash; and sister, Loretta Kroepel. Dick loved going to the casino, traveling to his cottage in Michigan and was an avid Chicago sports fan; except for the Cubs. He was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage and was an active volunteer. Dick loved the 4th of July and enjoyed doing fireworks for his family and neighbors. Mass of Christian Burial for Dick will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd. , Portage, IN 46368 with Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of mass at 11:00 am at the church. Dick will be laid to rest at Heritage Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick\u0027s honor may be made to the animal shelter of the donor\u0027s choice.
