Alice Patricia "Trish" Wilson, 79, of Amarillo, TX, formerly of Granbury, TX, Tahoka, TX, and Campo, CO, entered eternal rest on November 24, 2023, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday Nov. 29, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. Graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob Wilson, and her beloved daughter, Darla Russell. She spent her formative years in Baca County and moved to Lubbock, TX, to attend South Plains College. She graduated with her nursing degree at the age of 41 and retired after many years of dedicated service to her patients. She was the best kind of nurse - detailed, brilliant, and more than willing to tell you what to do. While obtaining her degree she met Bob Wilson, a dashing ATF agent, and was smitten. They were married in October of 1985 and forged a life in Tahoka, TX. They established Pardner's Ranch and it was there Trish found a new passion in barrel racing; Bob hauled her a million miles across the country to make that dream come true. In 2006 they migrated south to Granbury, TX, and retired into a community they treasured. They spent their days golfing and enjoying life at a slower pace (as slow a pace as Trish would allow, at least. ) She was an incredibly talented and decorated quilter and had a perch at quilt shops around the state, but the friends she found at Houston St. Mercantile on the historic Granbury Square have remained some of the most special people in her life. Trish was particular, loyal, and stubborn. The sacrifices she made throughout her life for her family and friends will produce fruit for generations, and her legacy is a proud one. She was a cherished Grandma Trish to her 9 grandbabies and 13 great-grandbabies and spared no expense to load her Amazon cart with their treasures. Her vices included pina coladas, Matthew McConaughey, colorful language, and one sacred menthol cigarette daily, pulled from her gold lame coin purse. Trish is survived by her children, Debbie Mask and husband Rick of Amarillo, Derek Wait and wife Krystal of Amarillo, and Denny Wait of Campo, CO; her grandchildren, Flint Mask and wife Becki of Amarillo, Chad Mask and wife Ashley of Amarillo, Chase Mask and wife Allison of Amarillo, Chance Wait of Amarillo, Channing Wait of Austin, Harlee Wait of Amarillo, Kyla Wait of Mosca, CO, Conner Russell and wife Jordann of Portales, NM, and Carli Russell of Hastings, NE; her great-grandchildren Emery, Wyatt, Olivia, Emilia, Levi Walker, Logan Faye, Redding, Breckin, Bristol, Branson, Lane, Jackson, and Lewis; and her niece and nephew, Carrie Kester of Reno, NV, and Van Leimer, of Santa Fe, NM. She is also mourned by countless friends, golfing partners, quilting buddies, and her faithful sidekick, Lady.Show more

Marvin Amerson

Marvin Amerson

Age - 77

Dale Amerson was a "huge" personality. From little children to the oldest of grandpas, folks loved to be in his presence. Walking into a room, his huge presence would fill a room with laughter and stories and the greatest of humor. Dale's magnetic personality made people want to listen to his stories and join in the fun of life. To understand Dale's life is to realize that he was basically a West Texas "farm boy". His parents raised him to appreciate life, to respect and see the good in others, to work long hours and earn your wages, to follow Jesus all day long. His mother gave him a tender heart. Like her, Dale's heart could melt when he saw suffering and pain in another's life. We have no idea how many persons Dale cared for and attempted to help rebuild their broken lives. He especially loved and cared for the poor, hard working immigrants that he hired. Dale treated them with respect and dignity and learned their life's stories . . . letting them know they were valued. Being a West Texas farm boy, he had some unique traits that folks from this part of Texas have . . . always wave a people you pass on the highways, take off your hat when you walk inside a building, give a man a firm hand shake when you greet him, look a person in the eye when talking with them . . . Dale loved dirt! He loved just working in the soil and dirt of agriculture. He had a successful career in the nursey business, but he really wanted to be on a John Deere tractor plowing a cotton field. He often said that he would have loved to have been a farmer . . . just like his Dad. Dale loved Buddy Holly. He was a walking encyclopedia of Buddy Holly. As a young teen, he grieved Buddy's death in that plane crash. Dale knew the "back stories of his life and music". As a Tech student, he went and knocked on the door of Buddy's parent house. They became fast friends and he visited them often. Dale loved the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys. He just didn't know the score of the games, he knew the stories of each player - where they were from, their personality traits, and more. Dale did not graduate from Tech, and really only attended there 1 year. Although he was smart and could dothe work, Dale had more fun than he had A's on his grades. He and Dad agreed that one year was enough money spent. That is when he got a job at Wolfe's Nursery unloading trucks and learning the business of plants and flowers. And from there he became one of the most respected nurserymen in America. Dale had some great loves in his life - his Mother and Dad, his wife, Marilyn, and is 2 daughters, Shannon and Sarah. He and Marilyn had27 years of love and marriage. He adored Marilyn and she loved him like no other could have loved him. Dale is preceded in death by is parent's, L. D. and Mae Amerson, his daughter, Shannan, his sister and brother-in-law Jan and Phil Holtkort, two nephews; Cody and Kyle ClarkDale is survived by his lovely wife, Marilyn, and his daughter, Sarah. Also, Marilyn's children, Jennifer and Patrick, Holly and Chuck, Tammy and Nathan, and Jeff and Susan. Dale had 10 grandchildren: Grace, Brittany, Dalton, Charlie, Evan, Holden, Barrett, Lauren, William, Wilson, Harrison, Ci Ci, and Helen. He is also survived his brother and wife, Dan and Debbie Amerson, and nieces and nephews: Tuesdee, Kauli, Lanie, Doug, Casey, Dominic, James, and Joanna . . . all who flocked to sit next to Dale and laugh until they peed their pants. Lewy Body Dementia robbed him of his latter years. This disease, called "the Long Goodbye", robbed each of us of 5 1/2 years of watching him grow older and his great wisdom. In his latter few months, he cried, "I want to go be with Jesus . . . Can I just go to Jesus?" His prayer was answered on a cold winter Autumn morning, November 19, 2023. The Funeral Service is Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. with a Viewing at 12:00 noon - Wiley Funeral Home, 400 East US HWY 377 Granbury, Texas. Entombment will be in Holly Hills Mausoleum in GranburyShow more
