Rebecca “Becky” Elizabeth Detrick Ferryman, 87, of Justin, Texas, arrived safely to her final home on Friday, February 16, 2024, after passing away at Medical City, Denton Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1936 in New Weston, Darke County Ohio to the late Lowell and Eliza (Ingram) Detrick. Becky & her future husband, Donald Roger Ferryman, met when living next-door to each other in East Liberty, Ohio, where they were also married on. August 13, 1952. The family moved to Texas July 1971. While Becky attended many churches, her last church of attendance was the Denton County Cowboy Church, Ponder. Rebecca loved visiting with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, traveling, cooking for others, crafting, celebrating birthdays & holidays together, she loved playing games, a good joke, reading, and movies. She was a dedicated EMT for the Justin Volunteer Fire Department for many years, along with her husband and children. Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Roger Ferryman, son Jeff Ferryman, grandson Andrew Mclaughlin, parents Lowell and Eliza Detrick, sisters Estella Huffman, Shirley Shumway, and Sharon Burr. She was survived by her children, son John Ferryman (Cyndy Bell), daughter-in-law Yvonne Ferryman, daughter Karynn Voxland (Todd), son David Ferryman (Charis), 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister Ruth Fogle Garvin, brother Wayne Detrick (Charlene), brother-in-law, Robert Shumway, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024 from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Denton County Cowboy Church, 400 Robinson Rd., Ponder, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Denton County, Cowboy Church-Ponder; the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; or the Justin Public Library in Rebecca Ferryman‘s memory.

Serves are under the direction of the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving.Louise was born February 27, 1925, in Aubrey, Texas, the daughter of Clarence Ellis Jackson and Odessa Armintha Byrom Jackson. She passed away February 18. 2024 at the Good Samaritan Assisted Living in Denton, TX.Louise graduated from Denton High School then attended Dallas Business School. She worked as the business manager for C. A. Sammons Properties in Dallas for 37 years. She was a long-time member of the First Methodist Church in Irving; she also was a 50 plus year member of the Eastern Star. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Pete Burts, her son, Terry Leigh Burts, Sr. and her sister, Sarah Beatrice Jackson Morris.Left to cherish her memory is her grandson, Terry L. Ruby will always be remembered for her contracting and carpentry skills as well as her love for the study of the word of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Danny Revels and Ivory Gober, and her sister Charlotte Choice, ex-husband/family friend Burt Turner, and God-mother Mother A.B. McKinney. Visitation for Ruby will be Friday, February 23, 2024 at DeBerry Funeral Home from 6-8p.m. and services, Saturday, February 24 at 11 a.m at St. Andrew's Church of God in Christ. Ruby is survived by her nephews Dustin Choice, Ronald Choice II, and Ivory J Gober III, her nieces Regina Evans, Tanja Mueller, Elkie Crawford, Francesca McGee, Mitcha Choice, Sharice Manuel, and one aunt Ollie Lawrence.

Kathleen “Kathy” KnowlerBorn November 9, 1959 - Deceased February 12, 2024 Kathy was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and was the eldest daughter of Mary Lou Reardon. She had one younger brother, James Dowling, who preceded her in death. She married her first husband Richard Smith and had two beautiful daughters Amber and Seanna. Kathy spent most of her life working with linemen teams at an electrical company. In 2007, Kathy married the love of her life James Knowler, and they spent 12 wonderful years together before his passing. Kathy was the neighborhood mom. She made her home a safe place for anyone who needed it. She could befriend just about anyone and was never one to shy away from adventure. She adored animals and children and doted on both, especially her grandson Karson Coker-Smith. She was a beautiful, brave, wonderful person, and she will be missed more than she could ever know. Kathy is survived by her daughters Amber and her spouse and Seanna and her grandson.

He ran Tee Off Golf and Games through most of the 1980s. Throughout his life he used the skills he learned to his advantage, especially in leather work, where he for a time held the rank of master craftsman. He began dating Ann Sitton in October of 1964. They became engaged in November of 1964 and were married on March 27, 1965. He is survived by his wife Ann Smith, daughter, Kathy Smith of Denton, sons, Robbie Smith and his wife, Kim of Coventon, Texas, Danny Smith and his wife, Karen of Lewisville, Texas, sister Patsey Bates, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister, Mary Buckley, and brothers, Leroy Smith and Odell Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 5 PM until 7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Singing Oaks Church of Christ in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, with Rev. Rodney Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors in Wheeler. \u0026quot;Dickie\u0026quot;, as he was known to friends and family, was born on September 24 1950 in Pampa, TX to O.B. \u0026quot;Pete\u0026quot; Burton and Agatha \u0026quot;Gay\u0026quot; Burton. He grew up in Wheeler and enjoyed family summer vacations to his mother\u0027s hometown of St. Louis, MO to take in Cardinals baseball games. He graduated from Wheeler High School and attended West Texas State University before moving to Austin for the live music and cultural scene emerging there in the 70s. He returned to Wheeler to start a family and followed his father\u0027s footsteps into the car business to become a managing partner at Burton Ford-Mercury. Dickie was a member of the Wheeler Chamber of Commerce and coached little league baseball. Above all he was a loving father who was exceedingly proud of his two sons. Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Gay. He is survived by a brother, Gary Don Burton of Pampa, TX; and two sons, Keenan Burton of Dallas, TX and Trevor Burton of Denton, TX."
