Rex Duane Church, age 90, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Rose Glen Manor. Mr. Church was born October 29, 1932 in Wilkes County to Spencer Grady and Vera Goodman Church. Rex loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Osborne Church; sisters, Vetra Church and husband Herbert, Bernice Snuggs and husband N. L. ; brothers, Ray Church and wife Louise, Paul Church, Silas Church and wife Lena, Gene Church and wife Maude, Bill Church and wife Edith. Rex is survived by his daughter, Patty Tedder and husband Jasper; grandson, Chris Tedder; great granddaughter, Hannah Tedder; sister-in-law, Betty Church; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p. m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Keith Elledge and Pastor Brady Hayworth officiating. Burial will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening. Flowers will be accepted. Mrs. Willie Jane Call Miller, age 86 of North Wilkesboro passed away at her home Thursday, November 30, 2023. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 3, 2023 at George Miller Cemetery in Glendale Springs with Brother Darryl Wagoner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mrs. Miller was born February 20, 1937, in Wilkes County to William Harrison and Lula Mae Swaim Call. Willie retired from Tyson Foods. Mr. Michael Brandon Morrison, age 39 of North Wilkesboro went to heaven peacefully at his home Thursday, November 30. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Shumate, Rev. Justin Blevins and Rev. Larry Adams. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM and the service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Morrison was born April 25, 1984, in Wilkes County to James and Wanda Carson Morrison. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. Michael worked at Riverstreet Communications for 13 years as a Field Engineer where he loved his job and his coworkers. The biggest loves of his life were God, family, and Carolina basketball. Michael was known for his warm, friendly nature, strong work ethic and for being quite the cut-up. His fun-loving spirit and kind heart will always be remembered. He is survived by his wife; Heather Brown Morrison, the love of his life, and son Mavrick, his pride and joy, his mother; Wanda Morrison, father; James Morrison, a sister; Jamie Burleson and David Griffin, a brother; Mark Morrison, two beloved nephews; Bradly and Braden Burleson, Parent-in-laws; Mark and Jana Brown, and so many dear family and friends.
