Born August 18, 1956 in Davidson County, North Carolina, Loretta was the daughter of the late Colon Welch and Jean Essick. She attended the public schools of Davidson County, North Carolina and later received her associates degree in accounting. She was last employed with Wal-Mart. She was a loving, caring, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great -grandmother and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cabe and a sister, Ronda Welch. She left behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Tiffany (Brian) Younts of Denton, North Carolina; a son, Michael Hill of Welcome, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita (Hoy) Craver of Spencer, Virginia; a brother, Del (Tessy) Welch of Mocksville, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Walker was born October 17, 1960 at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM. He was a son of Denver Walker of Midland and the late Janet Johnson Walker. He operated his own small engine repair shop. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by son, Brent Matthew Walker. In addition to his father, Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Shari Yvette Plair Walker; daughter, Kessie Shepard and husband Ian of Concord; two sisters, Shauna Moser and husband Scott, and Amber Pope and husband Brian, both of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Scott Walker and wife Joanna of Concord; and four grandchildren, Easton, Cade, Rilynn, and Max Shepard."

On February 20, 2024 God called his son William C. Bethea home to be with his Heavenly Father. William C. Bethea was born to Cleveland Bethea and Earlene Bethea in Forsyth County on October 26, 1960. He was educated at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools at North Forsyth Senior High School where he received his diploma. William was formerly employed at Ashley Furniture Company. William was a jack of many trades and loved working on what he call do-it-yourself projects. William was affectionately called "Charles" by family and friends. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, friend and mentor to many. William was a man who loved life, cars, motorcycles, and family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his mother, Earlene Bethea; brother, Cleveland “Vot” Bethea; several aunts, uncles, and other relatives. He is survived by his son, William Gwyn; daughter, Tkeyah Singletary; 3 grands; father, Cleveland Bethea; siblings, Debra Bethea and Kenneth Bethea; former wife, Sylvia Funderburk; a devoted cousins, Vickie Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a community of friends. A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, February 29, 2024 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Deacon Randall Curtis Foman was born in Washington, DC on August 26, 1948 to the late Paul M. Foman and Helen K. Foman. He was a 1966 graduate of McKinley High School. In 2018 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ministry from Carolina Christian College here in Winston-Salem, and was working on his Master’s degree. He was a resident of Winston-Salem for 26 years where he had his own T-shirt business and was a strong advocate for civil rights and equality, along with a desire to start a black history museum here in the city. He was well known in the community and was associated with the Lunch Bunch of Winston- Salem. Deacon Foman was a faithful member of Love Acceptance & Forgiveness Ministry for 7 years, where he served as Deacon, Head Usher, Pastor’s Aide, and Custodian. In addition to his father and mother, Deacon Foman was preceded in death by both of his brothers, Michael R. Foman and Bennett P. Foman; and a daughter, Ieshia Foman. He is survived by his sister Paullette T. Everett. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a close cousin, Bernard Kellam; a long-time friend, Butch McCollum; and a cherished friend, Ethel Hines; along with a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones. Michilene Demeta Barber was born on January 8, 1963, daughter of Alma M. Barber and Andy Barber, Sr. She peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School. She also attended Forsyth Technical Community College. Michilene worked for many years as a Home Health Care Assistant. She thrived on spending time with her family. Michilene joined St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age. Recently, she joined United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Andy Barber, Sr., brother, Andy Barber, Jr. and a twin sister Michelle Demetrice Benton. Michilene is survived by her son Anthony D. McCloud of the home, two daughters Kileah E. McCloud and LeKina V. McCloud both of Rocky Mount NC, mother Mrs. Alma M. Barber, two sisters Pamela P. White(Steven) and Ponetta L. Barber both of the city. Four brothers, Ralph E. Meadows, Sr. of the city, Nathaniel Barber(Diane) of Clemmons NC, Zavious B. Pratt(Sharon) of the city and Zachary K. Mr. Shane Allen Jeffrey, 53, of Millers Creek passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Shane was born on January 30, 1971 in Hudson, Michigan to Daniel Keith Jeffrey and the late Dawn Marie Westgate Jeffrey. He loved to fix up old cars, and ride around town listening to rock music. Shane also loved NFL football, watching movies and the fireworks at the 4th of July. Shane is preceded in death by his mother, and infant son, Terry Jeffrey. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kasey Jeffrey of Yadkinville, father and stepmother, Dan and Veronica Jeffrey of Statesville; brothers, Shawn (Angela) Jeffrey also of Statesville, Nathan Jeffrey of Wisconsin; sister, Tanya (Donald) Cook of Millers Creek and many nieces and nephews. We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Amy Day Royall, age 63, of Jonesville, NC. Amy passed peacefully, surrounded by her children, at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem on February 23, 2024.Amy was born in Wilkes County on October 29, 1960, to parents Jack and Aleine Day. She grew up with her brother, Marc, on Bethel Rd and attended Bethel Baptist Church. She loved living in the countryside and being close to family and remained in Jonesville for most of her life. Amy was a proud and loving mother of four and a doting grandmother of eight. Family was everything to her; she devoted herself to raising her children, caring for her parents, and cherishing her grandkids. She had a big heart and a lively spirit. She was passionate about politics and always believed in acceptance, tolerance, and growing in understanding and in love for others. She was strong, kind, generous, and had a great sense of humor. She will always be remembered as a fierce and fun soul that loved unconditionally, felt deeply, and believed strongly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Aleine Day, and brother, Marc Day. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and countless other relatives and friends who will miss her immensely. Survivors include: Joseph (Laken) Royall of Elkin and their three sons Colton, Carson, and Grayson; John (Yukie) Royall of Elkin and their daughter Kyla; Maggie (Seth) Reece of Elkin and their daughters Laurel and Isla; Ellie (Krzysztof) Kwasniewicz of Huntersville and their sons Kacper and Konrad; nephew and niece, Kellen and Halle Day; and close cousins, Joey, Karen, and Jimmy Popp.We are thankful for all the lessons she instilled in us and will hold dear the moments we shared and the memories we created together. She will continue to live in our hearts and will forever remain the cornerstone of our family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Elkin Funeral Service at 6:00 pm with Rev. Mark Reece officiating.
