Rose was born on August 1, 1949, in Wilkes County to Roy Lee and Lorraine Faw Mathis. She was a member of Cranberry Baptist Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Mimi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Lorraine Faw Mathis and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Blackburn. Mr. Pruitt was born April 6, 1948 in Wilkes County to Grant Henry and Annie Elizabeth Cleary Pruitt. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Pine View Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Foster, Brother Kent Wood, and Brother Harrold Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was born October 26, 1955, in Wilkes County to the late William Stacey and Mabel Brown Wood. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always believed the love of family came first. She loved being on the go, traveling, shopping, and entertaining friends and family at her annual holiday parties. She was a lifelong member at Pine View Baptist Church where she served as secretary/treasurer, choir leader, youth Sunday school teacher, and Christmas play director. Katrina was an amazing woman and will be missed by so many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Brown and a brother, Barry Wood. Mary’s deep and abiding faith carried her through life. She was happy to make a homecoming to Wilkes County and relished her new home at Wilkes Assisted Living for the past year. She loved her family and cultivated many lifelong friendships. A good cook, especially on special occasions, she enjoyed planting flowers for the beauty they brought to life. She readily adopted daughter Robin’s dog and three cats during the five years she lived with Robin in Greensboro. She enjoyed listening to her favorite music on YouTube, doing creative handicrafts, and playing bingo. She retired from First Union Bank as an Adjustor in the Mastercard division. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jurell Pulley, and Madeline Brewer; and one brother, Harold Don Brewer. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Mayberry of Greensboro; and one sister, Patty Harrold of Wilkesboro.
