"Reita Marie Shaw, 86, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born December 25, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Harry Cydzek and Kathren Gelmas Cydzek. Reita retired from AT\u0026amp;T where she negotiated federal contracts, paving the way for women's rights in the workforce. She earned her master's degree from George Washington University. She was a lifelong resident of Northern Virginia. Reita spent over twenty years with friends traveling the world with the Shillelagh Travel Club. She is survived by her first husband John "Jack" Joseph Condon of twenty-three years and the father of her children. Son, John Patrick Condon. Son, Christopher Jerome Condon, his wife Trish, their children, Heather and Blair, and their one grandchild. Son, Terrence Michael Condon, his wife Tina, their children, Tanya, Tara, Joseph, Joslyn, John, Terrence, Tyler, and their seventeen grandchildren. One sister, Kathleen Cydzek Martin, her husband Wayne, their daughter, Kimberly, and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of nineteen amazing years, Henry "Bud" I. Shaw, Jr. who was a Marine Corps First Chief Historian and a founding member of the Marine Corps Historical Foundation; and one brother, Gerome Cydzek. Services will be private. Eric Brooks Warner was born on September 8, 1975 and died on November 28, 2023. He was 48 years old. Eric lived in Stafford County, VA and died surrounded by his family, friends and extended family at Mary Washington Hospital. Eric was preceded in death by Charlotte Pearson (mother), Jimmie Warner (father) and Cujo (daddy's little boy). Eric is survived by Amy Lynn Warner (wife of 25 years), Bear Bear (daddy's other little boy), Taylor Miller (daughter), Jamie Sellers (sister), Deborah Brewer (sister) and Jimmie Warner (brother). Eric had 12 wonderful nieces, 1 awesome nephew and 1 granddaughter. Eric was the man. He loved to cook and hunt, and every Sunday he'd drink beer, watch NASCAR and text his friends. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor and will definitely be missed. Eric dedicated his adult life to serving the residents of Stafford County. He volunteered at Mountainview Volunteer Rescue Squad, spent many years with the Hartwood Volunteer Fire Department and retired from the Rappahannock Regional Jail. He was mentor to many through his work at the jail and the firehouse and was described as patient and kindhearted by his coworkers. He loved his family and friends. He knew that if he or Amy needed something, Amy's work family would take care of things and he loved them for that too. Eric's memorial will be held on Monday, December 4 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA 22554. Visitation hours will be from 8am - 9am, the service will be from 9am - 10am and will conclude at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. All are welcome.Show more

Roger Coleman, Sr. , 77, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Roger Coleman, Sr. , son of the late Jessie and Howard Coleman, was born on September 19, 1946, in Whiteville, North Carolina. He attended Centerville High School, where he graduated in 1964. During his adolescent years, Roger played community baseball and high school basketball. After years of being in North Carolina, he decided to head up north and move to D. C. While in D. C. , he began a career in the D. C. Public School system, where he worked for 25 years. He then me his wife, Miley "Gerry" Mitchner, who also worked in the school system. The two married and began expanding their family, with Roger first adopting Miley's three oldest children and soon having a baby boy of their own, Roger Jermone Coleman. Roger was a generous man. He loved his family and enjoyed every chance to spend time with them. Especially his late brother, Robert, and his right-hand man/nephew, Larry (aka, his "little brother"). He loved cooking on the grill and threw one of the best and biggest barbecues of all time. He would never pass up a chance to play anyone in horseshoes and cards. Roger was welcomed into Heaven's gates by his late mother and father, Jessie and Howard Coleman. His siblings are Alice Smith and Robert Coleman; mother-in-law Catherine Mitchner; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. A service will be held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Faith Christian Center World Outreach. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A reception will follow from 12:30 to 2:30 p. m. at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.Show more
