Regina (Granny) Roberts, 85, of Colmesneil peacefully passed away on May 9, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Regina was born in Goose Creek, Texas to Grace and Obie Hudgins. Regina worked for Prudential Insurance in Houston. After meeting the love of her life, she quit work to start their family. When her husband retired, they moved to Colmesneil. Regina went to work in several restaurants in the area including the Burger House that turned into more of a family than a job. Her love of cooking started in her preteen years. She loved to cook for her parents and brother. She would prepare what she called "Yankee Soup" which she would clean out leftovers from the refrigerator and boil it all together. It was so delicious that her father and brother would eat before coming home. By the time she reached adulthood, her cooking drastically improved and she became a wonderful cook. Regina loved going to Colmesneil football and baseball games to watch her grandson pay. During baseball season, she would bring brownies for the team, which became known as Granny's Brownies. She always told the boys that "Only winners get brownies. " It didn't matter if they won or lost they got the brownies. She told them "Bulldogs are always winners". Regina is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Obie Hudgins, her husband, Albert L. Roberts and her grandson, John A. Settlocker. She is survived by her daughter, Renee and husband, John Settlocker; brother, C. G. Hudgins and wife, Lynda; granddaughters, Christina and husband, Brian Primrose, Stephanie and husband, Curtis Judalet and Dena Settlbocker; great grandchildren, Levie Settlocker, Madison Primrose, Bryson Primrose, Miles Settlocker, Amelia Judalet, Abigail Judalet, Evan Stewart, Pitch Judalet and Jayden Judalet; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 12, 2023, at 2 pm at the Crooked R Cemetery Colmesneil, Texas. To to the family or in memory of Regina Ann Roberts, please
