Midwest City, OK

Redia Vann-Fisher of Midwest City, transitioned August 26, 2023. Redia was the first born to the union between Luther Vann and Eudeenia Vann. Redia was born in Tulsa, OK and was a lifelong resident of the state. She attended school in Oklahoma City and was the mother of five children. Redia had a unique personality that not everyone could handle, however, having a sense of humor made all the difference. She met the love of her life and best friend Curtis Fisher and the two were married in the year 2000. Through all their struggles, no matter what disagreements they might have had, you could not pry them apart. Redia found great joy in helping the elderly, children, and those that just needed someone to love them. It was not uncommon for you to find Redia taking various people that lived around her mom's senior living complex out to get groceries, go to medical appointments, or just running errands. For these reasons, she became the "adopted" daughter, niece, aunt, and mom to many. In her younger years, Redia enjoyed the rodeo circuit as an amateur barrel racer and traveled around the state and cross country to compete. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her "husband" on his motorcycle and their friends in the motorcycle club at various events. She and Curtis were staples at Tipton family events. They often came early and stayed late. Many will miss her big smile, creative wig collection, and outlandish stories. She is survived by spouse Curtis Fisher, Father: Luther Vann (Lorene)(Tulsa); Daughters: Darcus Vann (OKC, OK), Shamika Johnson (Quinton), of GA, Sons: Antonio Vann, Jamal Vann, Stanley Vann (OKC, OK), Kelly Fisher, Curtis Fisher, Jr, Tommy Fisher Sr. , Carrie Fisher, LaQuisha Moore. Brother: Lorenza Vann (OKC, OK) Sisters: Debbie Vann-Morris (Carey) (OKC, OK), Joyce Vann (Jones, OK) Cynthia Oliver (GA), Aliyah Vann (Tulsa), Lydia Toles (Donnel), Cassandra McCane (OKC, OK) and Sharon McCullough. She is proceeded in death by beloved Mother: Eudeenia Vann "Madison", Brother Luther Vann Jr, and Sister Brenda McCane. Let us not forget her 13-grandchildren, 1-great grandchild, and a host of other family members and friends.

Kenneth Holland

Age - 72

December 5, 2023

Kenneth Gene Holland passed from this life at home on November 29, 2023 with his wife by his side at the age of 72 years and 3 months. He was born August 29, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jean Seddon Holland and Harold Lee Holland. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1969. On May 8, 2020 Ken married the love of his life, Dickie Holland. Ken is survived by his beloved wife Dickie Holland, sister Mary Punneo and husband Larry Punneo, 3 loving children, James Holland and wife Laura Holland, Chris Holland and wife Angela McClure Holland, Racheal Holland Archambo and husband Archambo, and 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way. Family was what ultimately mattered most to Ken. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and absolutely treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind countless dear friends. Ken spent the last years before retirement working in real estate, retiring with many awards for Top Producer from Keller Williams. His work ethic was unsurpassed no matter the endeavor. He wore many hats during his lifetime, from building cars to building homes, and anything in between. If it could be built or fixed, then Ken was the man you wanted for the job. He loved building things, and spent many hours in his garage and wood shop on his projects. Ken could often times be found tending to his yard and yardscapes of which he was very particular. Having a perfectly manicured yard was a given when Ken Holland owned the house. Ken never met a stranger, and if you were a stranger, it was only once. From there on you would always be a friend. Ken had 2 passions, other than family, pool and fishing. Ken built and operated the Night Gallery in Stella, Oklahoma, intended as a pool hall for the youth to have somewhere safe to hang out, be warm, get a hot meal and "not be out getting in trouble' according to Ken. He taught many young boys and girls to play pool and also taught many of life's lessons there as well. Ken's door was always open to anyone. He was more than willing to help no matter the circumstances. If Ken was not at a pool hall, then he was at the lake fishing. His last project, which he worked on every day he was able, was building a house boat, which sits in the back yard today. He lived his 72 years to the fullest savoring every moment of his time on earth. He possessed a large sense of humor and quick wit, of which everyone was subject of a least once. He relished the pool leagues and so loved visiting with everyone and competing. He won his last ever 8 ball match at pool league on Tuesday, 11/28/23, and was a very happy camper. Never a dull time was had when Ken Holland was in the room. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers, Wayne Holland and Roy Holland and his best friend, his beloved Shepherd Meka. Ken was a perfect example of how to fully embrace life and love. His wisdom, his laugh, his support and his love will be sorely missed. Being someone's first love is special, but being someone's last love is truly remarkable and honestly takes your breath away when they leave this earth. Maude Summers

Age - 91

November 28, 2023

Maude Delores Summers, devoted and loving wife and mother of five children, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on November 23, 2023. One of twelve children, she was born on June 18, 1932, in Evergreen Alabama, to Laurena (Edwards) and Mack Johnson. After high school Delores wanted to attend nursing school, but instead became a wife, mother, and homemaker. She married her first spouse Madision Matthews in 1948 and divorced in 1956. In 1957 she married William (Bill) E. Summers and they celebrated their 66th anniversary on August 26th. The spouse of a military husband, she had the opportunity to travel the world. The family moved often and Delores took care of the household and children during Bill's numerous temporary duty assigments. She was active in the Non-commissioned Officers (NCO) Wives Club and served as an officer. Her work history outside the home included waitress, housekeeper, and clerical staff. While living in Missouri she earned her cosmetology license in 1970; practicing as a hair stylist from her home and in a salon. Delores loved flowers and gardening, with roses being her favorite. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music and dancing, and had a lovely singing voice (hymns were a favorite). People loved to see what she would wear. She was known for her clothes and accessories - always being very well put together and sporting a hat to top things off. Some of her children referred to her as Imelda Marcos because of the variety and large number of shoes she possessed. Delores was a wonderful cook and an excellent seamstress. She often sewed clothes for her daughters, grandchildren, and herself, as well as created beautiful needlepoint or crocheted items. She also collected knick knacks from around the world (which were a pain to dust and why some of her kids avoid them as adults). Plagued with various health issues throughout her lifetime, she was very stoic and seldom complained. She could be tough when she needed to be, but possessed a sweet spirit and an incredible inner strength, you would hear her say "God is able". She loved the Lord and in her last years you could hear her softly chant "One way, His way", which was the source of her strength.Show more
