Rebecca Allen "Becky" Price, 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. She was born in Wayne County on February 17, 1946 to the late Donald and Jacqueline Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Steve Price and Buddy Horton; and brother, Don Allen. Becky worked alongside Steve in their State Farm Insurance Agency in Goldsboro. Her friendly demeanor was the perfect addition to the workplace, as she assisted customers with her vast knowledge and genuine care. For Becky, the beach was a place that constantly called her name. Given the option of going anywhere in the world, there'd be no question that she would choose a beach. The crashing of waves and gentle breeze was indeed therapy for the soul. Family was always the top priority in Becky's life, and she knew every moment spent with them was a blessing from God. The love she had for each one of them was multiplied back to her in the love each held for her. For her family, she was the best mama and grandma. An extension of Becky's family was her close friends with whom she looked forward to spending time. Fellowship and a good meal was always enjoyed as her group gathered often at the Lantern Inn. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 4:00 - 6:00 p. m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Becky's life will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Monday, October 9, 2023 in the sanctuary of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Whitfield and Rev. Mary Kay Best officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs, NC. Becky is survived by her daughter, Joy Horton Jacobs; son, Allen Horton and wife, Shannon; step-son, Scott Price and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Will Horton, Avery Horton and Davis Price; sister, Mary Frances Posey and husband, Ted; brother, Mac Allen and wife, Joy; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much. The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by her caregivers and friends: Linda Hunt, Pam Pressley and Julia Williams. John Felzer, 83, passed away on Thursday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. John was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Francis John Felzer and Nadine Nelson Felzer on October 7, 1940. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Butler Felzer and sister, Janet Tulys. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He later began working as a barber at the BX Barber Shop on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. John had a successful career on base for over 40 years. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive with military honors. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. John is survived by his daughter, Meredith Felzer Mozingo and husband, Scott; son, Steven Felzer and wife Mary; grandson, Tyler Mozingo and wife Alli; sister, Barbara Felzer; and brother, Greg Felzer and wife Laura. He is also survived by his friend, Mike Krauss. They enjoyed Thursday night dinners for 39 years allowing them to catch up on current events in each of their lives. Eddie Lee Naylor, Sr. , 76, was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 while at Durham VA Health Care Center. Born in Meridian, Mississippi on December 10, 1946, He was the son of the late James Naylor, Sr. and Ruth Ann Bell Naylor. Eddie faithfully served his country in the United States Army for 22 years. He bravely served during the Vietnam War, after being drafted at just 18 years old, He then served as a computer analyst until his retirement. Eddie was thankful for the opportunities the Army provided for him and his family. Following his time in the military, Eddie went on to become a pastor and a writer where he was able to help the lives of countless people. We can be assured when Eddie stepped into Heaven, he was greeted with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant. "A service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home at 10:30 a. m. with a viewing the hour prior to the service, from 9:30a. m. until 10:30 a. m. Internment will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 p. m. Eddie is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Lottie Kendricks; children, Mark Naylor and wife, Joi, Eddie Naylor, Jr. and wife, Sarah, Gregory Naylor, and Lona Wallace and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Ondre Pope, Kiara McCullough, Ayanna Ricks, Arianna Naylor, Jadyn Naylor, Elias Wallace, Noah Naylor, and Leah Naylor; great-grandchildren, Lyric Pope and Legend Pope; brothers, Frank Naylor and Roland Bradley; sisters, Mary Lewis, Annie Davis, Maggie Thompson, Daisey Grady, Ruby Moore, Betty Cole, and Juanita Cole. Eddie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and spiritual children that he loved dearly. Clarence Johnson Weeks, Jr. , better known as "Buddy", 82, passed away on December 7, 2023 at home with his family by his side. Buddy was born in Edgecombe County on December 30, 1940 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Johnson Weeks of Tarboro. Buddy is survived by his wife Isabelle Partin Weeks; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Weeks Hott and Justin of New Bern; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Todd Weeks and Missy of Sugar Hill, Georgia. In addition, Buddy is survived by four grandchildren: Mary McCullen Hott, Elizabeth McCain Hott, and Hudson Thomas Hott of New Bern; and Ava Noel Weeks of Sugar Hill, Georgia. He is also survived by his one sister Mary Alice Weeks Fountain of Davison, N. C. , and several nieces and nephews. Buddy graduated from the School of Education at East Carolina University. After graduation, Buddy taught middle school math and science in Virginia and North Carolina for over 30 years. His students always described him as a caring teacher, who was always willing to help them be successful in school. In addition, Buddy was a Charter member of the Sugarfoot Shag Club of Goldsboro, and enjoyed socializing and dancing with his wife and shag friends. Buddy had a lifelong love of Carolina beach music, and could always be found listening to his favorite beach music radio shows every weekend. Buddy was a long-time member of Saint Paul Methodist Church in Goldsboro. He loved God and shared that love with others. In his final days, he knew without a doubt that he was going home to be with his Lord. Buddy will be remembered for his sweet smile and friendly disposition by many students, fellow educators, friends, and family. He loved people and found such joy in being surrounded by family and friends. He especially loved cutting up and joking with his grandchildren. Special to his heart was his beloved wife and best friend Isabelle who he shared 45 years with in their home in Goldsboro. Buddy loved his children and grandchildren and was so proud of each of them. He was always happy and excited when they could all be together, and cherished every moment that he spent with his loving family. Sandra Seymour Turner, 67, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at her home. Sandra was born in Wayne County to the late William Ellis "Bill" Seymour and Dorothy Thompson Gansheimer on December 31, 1955. For many years, Sandra cared for the elderly in their homes. The individuals she cared for became more than patients they were her friends. Sandra would do all she could to help them remain in their home. This was truly her mission in life. To relax, Sandra could be found shagging and listen to good beach music. This was her happy place. It was even better if she could share the experience with those she loved. Sandra also enjoyed painting and working with crafts. Most of all, she loved her family. Sandra loved deeply and believed in all of them. She was never afraid to ask for what she wanted, share her opinion, or tell you like it was. Sandra was bright, beautiful, bossy, funny, courageous, and giving. Her time on this Earth was well spent, and we will forever be grateful for the life and love she has given. At her request, no formal services will be held. Sandra is survived by her son, Channing Griffin and wife, Nicci; granddaughter, Danni; sisters, DeeVee Seymour Phillips and husband, Chris and Tonya Valena Hennig and husband, Terry; nieces, Sam, Taylor and April as well as her nephew, Christian. Alan H. Merlin, 77, fought the good fight and finished his course here on earth on Monday, December 4, 2023. Alan was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Dorothy Merlin on May 22, 1946. Alan served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 23 years as a Senior Master Sergeant. The skills he learned in the military carried over into his career and civilian life. For many years, Alan was a valued employee of Pappy's Army and Navy in Goldsboro. He was always working on something and after retiring from the military Alan began attending college at Mount Olive College. He graduated with a Bachelor Science in Business Administration. Alan was a joy to be around and loved to laugh. He lived up to his name, as he was always kidding around and joking. Watching others laugh brought him joy. He took care of others and was simply a loving guy. He was a 'yes man' in the sense he was willing to help at any time and in any way he could. He was willing to do whatever it took. His kindness and generosity will definitely be missed. Alan and Faye raised a family and found enjoyment in their retirement years taking trips with them. They had a special bond which allowed them to endure whatever came their way. While their children brought them joy, there was something extra special about their grandchildren. Alan loved being a "Poppy" and treasured the moments he spent with them. Other than family, Alan's passion was sports. He loved watching football but also Gunsmoke any time he could. Alan also enjoyed golf and trap shooting for a little relaxation. Alan's faith was an important part of his journey and was key in many of the relationships he had with others. Through all he faced, he knew he was cared for and loved by God. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00 a. m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Alan's life at 11:00 a. m. in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Dail presiding. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors. Alan is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Faye E. Merlin; son, Joseph Merlin and wife Miriam of Greenville, SC; daughter, Crystal Carter and husband Brian of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Alli Merlin, Noah Carter and Addison Carter; and many special friends that he loved very much.
