Daniel W. "Danny" Wright, Sr. , 54, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Thursday November 9, 2023 a home. He was born January 15, 1969 in Missouri, a son of the late Ralph Wright and Viola (Shinn) Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Wright; and a brother, Thomas Wright. Danny worked in construction most of his life and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his kids and family. Surviving are two sons, Daniel Wade Wright, Jr. and John Richard Sprouse; a daughter, Starlynn Dutchess Morris; three brothers, William, David and Richard Wright; and a granddaughter, Kharma Morris. Mary Ann McDonald, 74, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away, peacefully Friday November 3, 2023 in Follansbee, WV. She was born January 14, 1949 in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Bennington) Travis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Kenneth R. Clark, Jr. , Margaret Ann Howard and John C. Clark; a brother, Richard Travis; a sister, Ruth Ann Evans; and her former husband, Kenneth "Ken" Clark, Sr. Mary Ann retired in 2006 from Nickles Bakery Thrift Store in Steubenville where she worked for 23 years. She was a member of the Brilliant American Legion Post 573 Auxiliary and the former Steubenville Moose Lodge. She loved baking and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching movies, playing casino games on the computer, porch sitting, and laying on a raft in the pool during the summer. Surviving are two children, Mary Frances Wilson of Mingo Junction, OH and Mark (Jodi) Clark of Steubenville, OH; two brothers, Robert Travis of Bellaire, OH and Harold Travis, Jr. of Flushing, OH; fourteen grandchildren, Renee and Brent Staudacher, Jeffrey Howard II, Ashley, Landen and Susan Wilson, Dustin, Marki, Miah, Carson, Jace, Miranda, Jonathon and Braylynn Clark; twelve great-grandchildren; and her best friends, Cheryl and Ron. Cheryl M. Irvin, 68, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday October 31, 2023 in her home. She was born July 14, 1955 in Canton, OH, a daughter of the late George E. and Mabel (Thomas) Pearce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Irvin, Sr. on March 3, 2015; her birth mother, Marylou Queen; a sister, Kathleen Vincent; and two brothers, George William Pearce and infant John Edward Pearce. Cheryl was the owner of The Sweet Stop Bakery in Toronto, OH and she also worked in the office for Dr. Macias. She was a member of the Labelle View Church of Christ in Steubenville and the American Legion Auxiliary in Mingo. She enjoyed having breakfast at Mingo Diner and was a very proud grandma. Surviving are her son, George R. (Moriah) Irvin, Jr. of Steubenville, OH; her grandson, George William Irvin; a special niece and business partner, Kristen (Robert) Christian of Steubenville, OH; and two nephews, CJ (Sara) Diequez and Eddie Diequez. She was born January 14, 1952 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Joe Mercer and Mary Jane (Vanderpool) Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Hoover on February 28, 2020; and four brothers, Edward and Virgil Merritt and Zane and John Cook. Linda was a homemaker and attended the Restoration Church in Steubenville, OH. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going on trips with them, especially cruises. Martin Drew Karas, 62, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Saturday September 23, 2023 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. He was born May 3, 1961 in Weirton, WV, a son of the late Eli and Donna (Lesnansky) Karas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Drew graduated from Mingo High School in 1979. He worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and was the proud owner of the Schutzen Club in Mingo Junction. He was a member of the Brilliant Boat Club. Surviving are a son, Drew Michael Karas of Mingo Junction, OH; two brothers, David (Melissa) Karas of Wintersville, OH and Douglas (Jennifer) Karas of Mingo Junction, OH; two grandchildren, Gracie and Eli Karas; four nieces; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.
