Mecca - Raymond Edward Skebe, 80, of Cortland passed away on Thursday evening, September 28, 2023 at Ohman Family Briar Hill Nursing Facility Ray was born on April 24, 1943 in Cleveland, OH, a son of Rudolph and Olympia Dann Ray was a 1961 graduate of Howland High School and went on to enlist in the United States Air Force Ray earned an honorable discharge for his service Upon returning home, Ray began his career as a custom machinist He was precise and meticulous with his work and made a name for himself helping farmers with their equipment Even after his early retirement from American Welding, Ray could be found in his garage tinkering with parts and machines Besides his work, Ray enjoyed making wine and was quite fond of playing the scratch offs Most of all, he cherished his family and those whom he loved Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him Ray will always be remembered by his wife of 57 years, Judith "Judy" (West) Skebe of Cortland; son, James (Kelly) Skebe of Bristol; daughter, Michelle Weaver-Conner (Daniel) of Cortland and grandchildren, Peyton Weaver of Cortland, Amber of Warren and Corey Conner of Idaho Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Skebe Per Ray's wishes, there will be no services Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren To to the family or in memory of Raymond Edward Skebe, please

Warren - Carmella Marie Hicks, 86, of Cortland, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 28, 2023 at Shepherd of the Valley Howland. Carmella was born on August 17, 1937 in Warren, OH, a daughter of Myron and Rose (Vennitti) D'Andrea. She was a 1955 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and went on to work as a merchandiser for American Greeting Co. for over 10 years and then worked at Walmart. Outside of work, Carmella could be found reading one of her many favorite novels, playing cards with friends family or baking one of her famous nut rolls. Most of all, Carmella cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her loving presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Carmella will always be remembered by her daughters, Carla (Mark) Governor of Cortland and Natalie (Richard) Challenger of Mt. Dora, Florida; grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Allen, Jenna Governor and Alexandra (Elliott) Challenger-Messer, Lydia, Evan and Emma Challenger; great grandchildren, Dylan, Peyton and Jake Allen and Ivy George; sisters, Marian Martini and Judith Nicastro and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Carmella was preceded in death by her husband, Junior "Carlos" Hicks, daughter, Lori Hicks Arnal and brothers-in-law, Albert Martini and Virgil Nicastro. Marilyn Abruzzi

WARREN - Marilyn Diane (Webb) Abruzzi, 82, peacefully and quietly passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Marilyn was born in Warren on June 27, 1941, the daughter of Wilbur and Edith Webb. After graduating from Howland High School, Marilyn worked as an office manager for Dermatologist Dr. Alva Guiducci. On August 3, 1963, she married Robert Abruzzi at Saint James Catholic Church in Warren, Ohio. She then joined her husband at Michigan State University where she worked as a research assistant to Dr. Robert McIntosh, a renowned tourism expert. Marilyn and Robert attended St. John Catholic Church located at Michigan State. Marilyn and Robert then returned to Warren, where Marilyn worked holidays at the family's restaurant, the then Abruzzi's Cafe 422. However, her true devotion was raising her children, being a loving grandmother, decorating, and especially enjoying summers at Geneva-on-Lake with her entire family. Her family was her greatest joy. She will be remembered for her kindness, her caring, and her creativity. Marilyn will be dearly missed by her husband, Robert Abruzzi, her son, Brian (Hally) Abruzzi of Warren, her daughter, Marlene (Warren) Orloff of Worthington, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Julia and Dean Orloff, and Sabrina Abruzzi. Marilyn is survived by numerous and cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She grew up with a special aunt, Elaine Marx Shields, who was like a sister to her. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Doug Webb, and infant sister, Cynthia Webb. The Abruzzi family will receive family and friends on Monday evening, December 4, 2023 from 4 to 6p. m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Funeral Home on 1884 North Road NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. Mary Ann (Hanewall) Dedow of Warren, Ohio passed away on November 12, 2023. She was born on March 2, 1932 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Evelyn and Fred Hanewall. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1949 and from the Swedish American Hospital School of Nursing (Rockford, Illinois) in 1954. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill. , the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI, and Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. She married Donald R. Dedow in June 1957. She was a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her three children and was very involved in their lives and school activities. She volunteered for the American Red Cross Blood Drives and was a member of the Trumbull Country Club. She was an expert seamstress and home decorator. She traveled the world extensively with her late husband. She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren, Ohio. She is survived by her son, Mark (Claire) of Naples, FL, daughter, Diane (Charles) of Beaverton, MI, son, Todd (Susan) of Catonsville, MD, sister, Nancy (Charles) Stacy of Rockford, IL, and sister-in-law, Sandra Hanewall, of Wauwatosa, WI, ten grandchildren, and 8 great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, her brother, William, and one grandson. Betty C. Christopher, 91, of Warren, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Kensington Care Center. She was born March 8, 1932, in Albright, WV, a daughter of the late Parley F. Titchenell and the late Carrie B. Shaffer. Betty was a homemaker. She did mission work in Texas and was a member of many camping clubs. She is survived by her sons, Allen (Deborah) Christopher of Jefferson, Ohio and Timothy (Dianna) Christopher of Mantua, Ohio; grandchildren, Carrie, Nicole, and Alexa Christopher; and great-grandchildren, David and Emma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Christopher. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. She was born March 5, 1929, in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of the late Frederick W. and the late Gertrude (Bunch) Thiem. Shirley was a retired elementary school teacher from Cedarbrook Elementary. She enjoyed golfing, singing in the church choir, and was artistic. Shirley was known for her kindness, respect of others, and was a loved teacher. She is survived by her children, Sarah M. Mackey of Warren, OH, Judith A. Wells of Santa Rosa, CA, Richard B. (Margo) Wells, Jr. , and Katherine J. (Dale) Richard; sister, Gretchen Brandt of Keokuk, IA; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Warren - Fay G. Rowe, 85, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, with his family by his side, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born December 28, 1937 in Warren, Ohio, the son of George and Beulah Stryker Rowe. Fay graduated from Cortland High School in 1956. After High School he served in the United States Air Force in Germany. Fay worked as a Millwright at Republic Steel and Warren Consolidated Industries for 46 years. He retired in 2002 and enjoyed working on old cars and going to car shows. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed being at their activities and graduations. Fay was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church in Cortland. On September 24, 1960, Fay married his beautiful bride Marcia Fennick Rowe. Marcia preceded Fay in death last October. He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly (Ken) Teeters of Zionsville, IN, and Tracy (Tom) Walker of Nazareth, Pa; and by four loving grandchildren; Carlos Teeters and Nicholas, Andrew, and Matthew Walker. Fay was also preceded in death by his parents, sister Martha Steinkraus and brothers Jerry Rowe and Dick Rowe. Family and friends may pay their respects to Fay 11 a. m. to 12 p. m. HOWLAND - Rose Marie "Ree" Cecconi, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at home under the comforting care of hospice and her family. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones that loved her the most. Rose Marie was born September 24, 1937 in Dillionville, Ohio the daughter of Steve and Rose (Malinoski) Sabo. A homemaker, Ree graduated from Warren Consolidated High School in Tiltonsville, Ohio. She loved her family and loved cooking for the holidays. She enjoyed playing bingo with friends, spending time with her grandchildren, coloring in her free time, was an avid fan of pogo computer games, and had a fond interest in birds. Ree had her very own cockatiel bird, Rocky, for 30+ years that sadly passed away. She is sadly missed by her two children, Richard Cecconi Jr. and Michele Flaminio, both of Howland; four grandchildren: Richard III (Jessica) Cecconi, Terra (Michael) Cvengros, Alan Flaminio, and Alexis Flaminio; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Fluharty of Niles. Preceding her in death are her parents; her beloved husband of 67 years, Richard Cecconi, whom she married November 3, 1956 and who passed May 26, 2019; grandson Don Flaminio Jr. ; sister Sandra Lee Sabo; brother Steve Sabo; brother-in-law Cecil Fluharty; sister-in-law Marilynn Dufey; and nephew David Fluharty. WARREN - Doris D. Testa, age 94, entered into eternal rest Monday, November 20, 2023, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1929, in Cleveland, the daughter of Herbert and Anna Bysock Dunkerton. Doris attended Bloomfield High School and Warren Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper alongside her husband, Louis, who owned his own accounting firm in Mercer, Pa. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, Scrabble, solitaire, word puzzles, putt-putt golf, and spending time with family. Precious memories of Doris live on with her two sons, Mark Testa (Susan) of Lake City, Pa. and Michael Testa (Susan) of Tallmadge; a grandson, Andrew Testa of Erie, Pa. ; four sisters: Marjorie Dunkerton of Warren, Janette Parke of Cortland, Gloria Smith (Merle) of North Bloomfield, and Linda Taylor of Cortland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; her beloved husband of nearly forty-five years, Louis Testa, whom she married July 2, 1955, and who passed June 16, 2000; and a sister, Loretta Bennett. According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. Her urn will be laid to rest at Citizens Cemetery in Mercer, Pa. She wanted to celebrate her life with her family and friends while she was still with us. She considered her 90th birthday party that celebration.
