Sharon L. Shull, 82, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in her residence with her family by her side. Sharon was born June 12, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Russell and Elaine (Stroup) Luce. Sharon married John L. Shull on July 29, 1967, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2001. She worked as a line worker at Chase Brass and Copper Company in Montpelier, Ohio, for over 25 years, where she also served as the shop steward for the United Steelworkers Union. Prior to Chase Brass, Sharon worked at BFGoodrich and Sheller-Globe Corporation. Sharon's family fondly remembers her breaking workplace barriers as one of the first female workers on the production floor at her places of employment. In her free time, Sharon loved hosting holiday meals at their family home, alternating every year between the Shull and Luce families. Sharon is survived by her three children, Jerry (Stacy) Shull of Hamilton, Indiana, Sabrena Shull of New Haven, Indiana, and Dr. John L. (Stephanie) Shull, Jr. of Delta, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Taylor of New Haven, Indiana, and Kay (Ralph) Roy of Ossian, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Kay Luce of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; an infant son, John E. Shull; a brother, Russell "Butch" Luce; a sister, Carol Simmerman; and a foster daughter, Cindy Gilbert. Visitation for Sharon L. Shull will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, from 11:00 A. M. - 12:00 Noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio. Funeral services for Sharon will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 12:00 Noon with Hospice Chaplain Bob Herman officiating. Interment will follow in Alton Cemetery, St. Joe, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Huntington's Disease Society of America. Dale Sherwood Siegers, age 97, of Fort Wayne, Indiana formerly of New Haven, Indiana passed from this life on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Golden Years Homestead. Dale was born in Holland, Michigan on March 20, 1926, son of the late Martin and Rena (nee. Cramer) Siegers. He was a proud Navy Veteran. He treasured his commitment of service to his country and relished his experiences in service. At the age of 91, he shared his patriotism with other veterans on the Honor Flight to Washington D. C. Dale worked at Tokheim Corporation and retired in 1982 after the passing of his wife, Naomi Hostetler Siegers, the love of his life. Dale enjoyed bicycling, gardening, oil painting, landscaping and visiting the beaches of Lake Michigan in Holland. He loved spending time with his family, watching Notre Dame football, bowling, and sharing his knowledge of old movie stars with anyone who would listen. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charlotte Randall and Earl Siegers. His legacy will continue on with his daughters, Nancy Ward, Joyce (George) Voivodas, Patricia (Darryl) Jennings and Pamela (Kevin) Huguenard; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Dale's Life will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 20, 2023 at D. O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue (46805). Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Larry L. Hockemeyer, 81, of New Haven, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his son's residence. He was born on March 21, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Clarence and Hannah(Koppenhofer) Hockemeyer. Larry was united in marriage to Julaine S. Gallmeyer on June 14, 1963 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2021. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven. Larry graduated from Woodlan High School in 1960 and attended DeVry Technical Institute. He worked at Sears for 31 years as an electronics repairman. Larry enjoyed going to the lake with his wife. . . his getaway. He is survived by daughter, Lori (Tony) Conrad of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Dawn (Steve) Herman of New Haven, Indiana; son, Todd (Tami) Hockemeyer of New Haven, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Logan (Tate) Schieferstein, Shelby (Sean) Schieferstein-Wenger, Hailey (Dustin) Murray, Madison (Seth) Derickson, Anthony Schieferstein, Natasha Schieferstein, Hannah (Matt) Lengerich, Victoria Hockemeyer and Kathryn Hockemeyer and11 great-grandchildren, Ronan, Regaen, Brantley, Isabelle, Kade, Ryker, Makenna, Addison, Lennox, Brynley and Owen. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julaine Hockemeyer; and brother, Marvin Hockemeyer. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a. m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven, Indiana with Rev. David Stecker officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Friends and family will be received from 3-5 p. m. and 6-8 p. m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green Street, New Haven, Indiana and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
