Mr. Raymond C. Martin, 78, of Hixson, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019. He retired from Roadway Express with 25 years of service and then worked for the U.S. Postal service for 7 years. He was truly a family man and loved camping, fishing, his grandchildren, and Alabama Football. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing most anything that was broken. He was loved by all who knew him and he was always there to help family, neighbors, and friends in any way he could. To his son and daughters, he was their Super Hero. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Zora Martin and his brothers, Calvin, Carl and Charles Martin. Survivors include his wife, Linda Martin; son, Barry (Paula) Martin; daughter Sharon (Burke) Nelson; daughter, Denise Kieu; 3 grandchildren, Spencer, Ryann, and Delaney; and sisters, Doris Connell, Dean Lewis, and Dorothy Hustead. There will be a service at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 28th at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Chapel of Devotion with Chaplain Tommy Vowell officiating.
