Raymond Fischer Obituary

Raymond Leland Fischer, 89, of Haubstadt, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born on September 22, 1933, in Princeton, Indiana to the late Raymond Harold and Vaunda (Tooley) Fischer. Raymond proudly served 10 years in the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the military, he worked 10 years for Emge then another 10 years for the United Mineworkers local #1907 where he retired. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joyce (McGuire) Fischer; three children, Raymond Fischer, Teresa Miskell, and Lisa Cobb; sister, Cynthia Ross; brother, John Fischer; 8-grandkids, 13-great grandkids, and 1-great-great-grandkid. Raymond is proceeded in death by his parents, Raymond Harold and Vaunda (Tooley) Fischer; and brother, Phillip Fischer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City, Indiana on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 10 A. M. , with Father Frank Renner officiating. Burial will follow the service along with Military honors at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, Indiana.
