Ray Wayne Felder, 88 of Burton went to join his son Gregory beside his Lord and Savior on September 10, 2023 at his home in Burton. Ray was born in Burton, Texas on June 16, 1935 to Lena (Holle) and Theo Felder. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and a life member of St. John's UCC. He attended public school in Burton, Texas and received an associate degree from Blinn College. He served 2 years in the US Army including time in Korea. On May 12,1957 he married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Ann Muehlbrad. Together they had 3 children, Greg, Ann and Karl. Ray worked many years with his father and brother in a wholesale gasoline company. After selling the business he worked for Burton ISD in the maintenance department until his retirement. Ray served as assistant Fire Chief of the Burton Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the American Legion. He also loved deer hunting, even after he no longer hunted he still had his deer feeders in the pasture so he could watch the deer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws Lillie and August Muehlbrad; son, Greg; sister in-law Jane Felder; brother in-law and sister in-law Edsel and Doris Muehlbrad. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Peggy; brother Nelson Felder; daughter Ann and husband Quirt Knittel; son Karl all of Burton. Grandchildren, Fawn Knittel, Shawn and Daphne Ware, Bryan and Samantha Ware, and Sydnie Knittel. Great grandchildren: Connor Knittel; Colton Black; Janna Brinkman; Indigo, Nova, and Fox Ware; Leo and Olivia Ware, and we can't forget his favorite companion, his dog Gin. Serving as pallbearers are Fawn Knittel, Shawn Ware, Bryan Ware, Sydnie Knittel, Todd Felder, Tara Felder, Tyson Felder, Scott Muehlbrad and Brett Muehlbred. Honorary pallbearers are the "Boll-Weevils" and the staff of the Texas Cotton Gin and Museum. Family visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St. , Brenham, TX. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at St. John's United Church of Christ of Burton. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Burton, TX. Earl Luedeker, also known as "Bobby" and "Buck", died on December 2, 2023 in Brenham, Texas. He was born April 10, 1933 in Crawford, Texas to Ernest Luedeker and Laura Warmke Luedeker. Earl met Margaret Braunagel and they were married in 1962. They had one son, John. Earl was a proud member of the US Army from 1953-1955 where he served as a medic. After returning from service, he began working for Union Pacific Railroad in Oklahoma. He then attended the University of Houston and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Afterwards he began working as an air conditioning contractor and later purchased Velvet Air Sales Incorporated. Earl loved the outdoors, not only growing up but also as an adult. He loved hunting and fishing, especially around the Lake Waco area where he spent a lot of time. Earl also enjoyed tinkering with all types of things and considered himself quite the engineer. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wilbert Luedeker and LeRoy Luedeker, and brother-in-law Marvin Reich. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son John Luedeker and Maggie Conder, sister Christine Reich, granddaughter Lara McGrew and husband Matt, great granddaughter Addyson McGrew, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jicky Reich, Glenn Reich, Hobie Reich, Gavin Reich, Hunter Brown, and Christopher Luedeker. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 1:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel. David Flinnoye Hopkins, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday November 26th, 2023 at the age of 83. A visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham, TX on Tuesday December 12th with the family present from 5 – 7 pm. David was born on April 15th, 1940 in Houston, TX to his beloved mother Elizabeth Stockton Deavers and father David Flinnoye Hopkins, Sr. His childhood was spent around the country before most of his formative years in Galveston, TX. He graduated from Ball High School in 1958 and held many fond memories there centered around the beach and singing in various school and church choirs. He got to Texas A&M as fast as he could upon graduating and was a proud member of the Core of Cadets and Class of 1962 with a degree in Accounting. He continued to follow Aggie Football & the Aggie Band and was involved as a member of the Association of Former Students his entire life. Many of his family members followed in his footsteps and have called Aggieland home because of his decision to be an Aggie! His time at Texas A&M further inspired a love of his country and he joined the Army, serving admirably from December 1961 through his Honorable Discharge in November 1967. At that time, he continued to serve his country on the civilian side in the Aerospace and Defense Industry through his employment with General Dynamics as a Technical Systems Specialist within their Corporate Office and later with the FMC Corporation as a Manager of Systems Assurance in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. David moved to Brenham, TX in 2011 to care for his ailing mother and be near his extended family, learning to love his new home and neighbors in Kruse Village. He looked forward to the special luncheons and gatherings amongst the neighborhood and neighbors remember him fondly with his wit and knowledge of electronics! David is survived by his niece, Holly Hopkins Richardson and her son Blake (5) and his nephew Mike Hopkins, Jr. (class of 2004) and his wife Liz Hopkins (class of 2005) and their two children Tyler (10) and Travis (8). He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Stockton Deavers and his brother, Mike Hopkins (class of 1967) and his wife Nina Hopkins. Delia Martinez, who was better known as "Lita" by her children and grandkids, went to be with the Lord on November 17th. She was home surrounded by her 10 children. Delia was born in San José De Reyes, Mexico on June 11th 1934. Delia married George C. Martinez December 10th 1964. They made their home in Coleman, Texas. Delia was a devoted mother and wife. She loved to sing, garden, and cook for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her family. Those left to cherish Delia’s memory include her daughters Rosie and husband Raul De Los Santos of Coleman, TX, Mary Ellen and husband Russell Schultz of Brenham, TX, Mary Jo and husband Simon Beard of Abilene, TX, Dolores and husband Oscar Lozano of Abilene, TX, Rosa and husband Ted Dean of Brenham, TX, Georgia and husband Donnie Armentor of Brenham, TX, and sons Henry Rodriguez of Hico, TX, Jose Cervantes of San Antonio, TX, Mark and wife Allison Martinez of Coleman, TX, and Michael and wife Marisa Martinez of Austin, TX; one sister, Elpidia Castaneda of Anthony, NM; one brother Amador Cervantes of Durango, Mexico; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Ray M. Januszewski, 80, went peacefully to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on November, 28, 2023. Ray was born in the Greenville community of Washington County on August 28, 1943 to parents, Joseph and Mary (Cendalski) Januszewski. He attended school at Mill Creek, Berlin, and St. Mary’s Parochial School. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1961. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and served for 3 years, with one tour in Korea with the 1st Cavalry Division and the remainder at Fort Riley, Kansas with the 1st Infantry Division. He had attained the rank of infantry sergeant and was honorably separated in 1964. After separation, he went to work for and helped open H-E-B grocery in Brenham. He also enrolled at Blinn College as a full-time student. While doing both, he also went to work for Steadley Company, a bedding manufacturer, which later became Leggett and Platt. Ray graduated from Blinn College in 1967 and was employed at Leggett and Platt for 41 years until his retirement. After retirement to stay busy and active, he went to work at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in facility maintenance for the next 11 years, until his health forced him to stop working. After he stopped working, he still remained as active as he could. Throughout his life, Ray was a talented carpenter and woodworker and could fix just about anything. He loved to cook and leaves behind several original recipes for his family to enjoy for years to come. His time in the military taught him to be extremely neat and organized that continued throughout his life. His greatest joy in life and the legacy he leaves behind is in his children and grandchildren. He spent the last years of his life being highly committed to watching his grandchildren grow up and nothing gave him more pride than watching their successes. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Januszewski; his sisters, Janie Goryczki and husband, Bruno, Stella Kubitzka and husband, John, and Monica Krenek and husband, Johnnie; his brothers, Stanley Januszewski and wife, Mary, and Bill Januszewski and the mother of his children, Patricia Bass Ray. He is survived by daughter, Shannon Jacobs and daughter, Brandy Scott and husband, Brad Scott; and granddaughters, Brooke and Brenna Scott; his brother, John Januszewski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, as well as close friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, Texas with graveside services following. Boyd Allen Howsley went to be with his lord and savior on November 14, 2023. He was born in Freeport, Texas. He grew up in Houston Texas spending most of those years in the Woodland Heights Area having many a great adventure and making many great friends along the way. His father taught him the trade of mechanics working side by side. During his father's illness, Boyd stayed by his side until his passing. He then came to Brenham to be near the rest of his family where he decided it was time to put his auto experience to a newfound use as a Car Salesman and he found his true calling. He found his dealership family at Tegeler Toyota and was there for 20 years often saying he couldn't imagine working anywhere else. Boyd had this great ability to remember every detail about everyone he knew and treated all his customers like they were his own family. Although he didn't sing with any great ability or play an instrument his soul was made of music. There were few things in life that meant more to him. The greatest joys of his life by far were his children. He raised his children here, met his beautiful partner here and this became his forever home. Boyd was preceded in death by his father Buddy Howsley. Boyd was survived by his mother Mary Ann Dewar, son Caden Howsley, daughter Albrie Reed, sister and brother in law Sherryl and Thomas Plagens, sister Jacqueline Hiett, sister Stephanie Eiland, sister Suzanne Eller, sister Vicci Gilles, sister Kristin Tips, Partner of the last 10 years Susan Balke, 14 nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Tiger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Howsley. Visitation will be held on December 1, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St. , Brenham, TX from 6 - 8pm. Stanley Joseph Klekar of Brenham, Texas passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on August 14th to Frankie P. and Lucille Klekar. Stanley graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in Shiner, was a veteran of the Army and a parishioner of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception in Brenham. Stanley was the life of the party, a friend to many and a stranger to few. He retired from the Lower Colorado River Authority after 45 years and was President of the Hermann Sons Gay Hill Lodge. After retirement, he enjoyed life to the fullest with his best friend and wife Mary Jo by his side. Stanley loved telling stories, bailing hay, talking tractors, being outside, and coffee with his friends every morning. Stanley was always ready for good time and was not one to sit still for long.
