Randy Dale Trammel, 64, of Jemison, Alabama passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on September 4, 2023, at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born March 6, 1959, in Alabama, son of George W. Trammel and the late Dorothy Littleton Trammel. He was a Superintendent of Dunn Building Company. Surviving are his Wife, Laura Trammel; Daughters, Patches (Chad) Ray, Krista (Gabriel) Patterson; Father, George W. Trammel; Brothers, Kenneth (Rhonda) Trammel, Jerry Trammel, Ricky (Melissa) Trammel; and a host of Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Dorothy Ann Littleton Trammel. The family would like to say a special Thank You to his church family at Robinson Springs and numerous doctors and staff that helped along the way. Friends will be received Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 1:00 p. m. at The Church at Robinson Springs with Rev. Bobby Littleton, Rev. David Farris, and Rev. Jacob Day officiating. Stephen "Steve" Gregory Cates of Jemison passed away November 23, 2023 at Princeton Baptist Hospital surrounded by family. He was born in Chilton County on February 9, 1953, the son of the late Jack Cates and the late Dorsey Payne Cates. Steve worked many years at E. C. Gadsden (Alabama Power) where he made many life long friends. Steve graduated from Thorsby High School where he enjoyed playing on the first football team. He enjoyed fishing and hunting even though he had not been able to do so in recent years. He loved sports of all kinds but most especially Alabama football. He enjoyed woodwork, gardening and the woods and riding his tractor. He also liked to take an occasional trip to the beach to eat seafood. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janice Cates and his son Alan Cates. Also his sister Nena (Mike) Atchison, Nephews, Jack (Lea) Atchison and their children, Gabe and Evie. Michael (Kelly) Atchison and their children Hollis and Hayes. In addition mother in law, Dorothy Moore, sister in law, Teresa (Mike) Evans, brother in laws, Howard Haney and Randy Moore. Also his Uncle, Sonny Payne and Aunt, Elaine Tidwell. He enjoyed growing up with many cousins. He will be missed by many family, friends and neighbors. He loved his family. He loved God and his church, Thorsby First Baptist. He enjoyed working in the kitchen, Bible School and loved greeting people for Sunday School. He has on occasions been known to hold a baby or two on his lap in the nursery. He took his job to fill the baptism pool very seriously. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5:00 p. m. until 7:30 p. m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with the funeral to follow Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with Bro. Marc Hodges Officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his parents at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison. She was born November 2, 1937, in Chilton County, Alabama, daughter of the late Scott Porter and the late Gracie Porter. She was a homemaker and a faithful companion to her husband of 53 years. A loving mother, MawMaw, and a faithful member of The Church at Robinson Springs for 65 years. Susan Holcombe, 70, of Jemison, Alabama, passed away November 19, 2023. Known as a dedicated, hard worker, Susan was also active in the Pleasant Grove Methodist-Protestant Church and in local Scout groups. She worked in Chilton County schools for 24 years, managing the Clanton Intermediate School lunchroom until she retired. Susan also enjoyed life beyond the world of work. One of her favorite pastimes was maintaining her collection of plants and succulents, all of which thrived under her care. Although Susan's lifelong enjoyment of the beach never subsided, her greatest joy lay in her family. She found happiness and fulfillment in her three precious grandchildren, whose love and companionship brightened her final years beyond measure. She is survived by her Loving Husband, David R Holcombe; Son, Patrick Holcombe; Sister, Diana Frucci; Granddaughters, Anna Holcombe, Katja Holcombe; and Grandson, Leonardo Holcombe. Susan is preceded in death by her Father, David Kenneth Conway; Mother, Anna Faye Conway; and Brother, Michael Conway.
