Ralph H. Fochs, 86, Mosinee, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, with his family by his side. He was born on March 23, 1937, in Wausau, WI, son of the late Fred and Dorothy (Dittman) Fochs. He married Lillian "Cubby" Shnowske on July 19, 1958, at St. Paul Catholic Church, she survives. Ralph married his high school sweetheart Cubby at St. Paul Catholic Church 65 years ago celebrating their anniversary on July 19, 2023. He retired from the Mosinee Paper Mill after 48 years. Ralph was an entrepreneur starting a carpet cleaning business, a real estate developer and home building contractor. In his younger years Ralph enjoyed playing hockey with the Mosinee Paper Makers, achieving the 1954 State Championship. Ralph was a youth hockey coach in Mosinee for Squirt, PeeWee and Bantams in which his sons played. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed waterfowl hunting, deer hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed the many times with family and friends at the cottage on the Big Eau Pleine. He began a yearly tradition of celebrating Opening Fishing and a Labor Day Venison Feed that will be carried on. Ralph enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball and hockey, taking road trips with Cubby and taking care of his landscaping, using his beloved chainsaw, and feeding the birds. Ralph and Cubby were meant to be. As his children we are who we are because of their love for each other and could not ask for more. Thank you, Dad, we will miss you and love you always. Jeanet peacefully passed away on December 6, 2023, at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center-Weston, leaving a legacy of warmth, love and cherished memories. Jeanet was born February 5th, 1928, in North Dakota. She was the daughter of the late Swen and Ethel (Berggren) Lilja. Raised on a farm, Jeanet grew up knowing the meaning of hard work. She spent countless hours working in the field and in the barn, as well as helping with cooking for the whole family. She also worked as a candy striper, to help provide care for elderly at a local nursing home. Jeanet enjoyed many outdoor camping adventures. Camping trips were not just adventures but opportunities to connect with loved ones, share stories around the campfire, and create lasting memories under the open sky. In the kitchen, Jeanet was a culinary artist, renowned for her delectable cinnamon buns and irresistible monkey bread. Her baking talents were surpassed only by her generosity, as she shared these treats with family, friends, and neighbors, making every gathering a celebration of sweetness. Family was the center of Jeanet’s world, and her love for children was boundless. Known for her joyous demeanor, Jeanet found immense happiness in holding babies and imparting a sense of comfort and love to each child she encountered. She took great delight in teaching all the little ones the art of picking agates, creating cherished memories by the lakeside. A true Wisconsin sports fan, Jeanet held a special place in her heart for the Green Bay Packers, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. And who could forget her fondness for pickles? Pickles were not just a snack, but a symbol of Jeanet’s zest for life. In addition to her many interests, Jeanet was a shining example of kindness, sweetness, and Christian love. Her welcoming spirit and genuine goodness touched the lives of everyone she met. Whether through a warm smile, a comforting embrace, or a kind word, Jeanet had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. Henry M. Kettler, 65, of Mosinee, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 7, 1957, the son of the late Henry and Rita (Dee) Kettler. Henry was a dairy farmer in the township of Bergen for over half of his life. As a 2nd generation farmer, it was his way of life. He was so determined to become a farmer like his father that he started farming during his senior year of high school. After he retired Kettler Farms, he couldn't stay away from farm life. Henry worked for Cihlar Farms, the Town of Bergin, and Kevin Skinner. When he wasn't working or helping his friends, Henry enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and snowmobiling in the winter. He also enjoyed his daily BS session with friend Jim Zell and took great pleasure in spending time and working on projects with Jon and Stacey Bowie. Henry is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Travis) Michalski, along with two grandsons, Charles Henry and James, Mosinee; an aunt, Mina (Jerry) Lindow, Neenah; a cousin, Scott (Candy) Lindow, Medford; his girlfriend, Catherine Staples, Mosinee; and his many friends. Mary Rita Purull, a beloved member of her community passed away on November 29, 2023, at the Rennes Health and Rehab Center. She was born on August 20, 1932, in Mosinee, WI to her parents Martin and Mary Sypnieski. She was married to the love of her life, John Purull on August 20, 1952, he preceded her in death on December 27, 2004. Mary graduated from Mosinee High School and went on to have a successful career. She worked as the Personnel/Human Resources Manager for K-Mart from the store's opening in 1970 until her retirement in 1995. Her dedication and hard work were instrumental in the success of the store. Colleagues remember Mary for her exceptional organizational skills and her ability to connect with people. While Mary excelled in her career, she found true fulfillment in her role as a devoted wife and mother. Mary's proudest accomplishment was raising her children and nurturing a close-knit family. Mary was an extremely devout and active member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Her faith played an integral role in her life, guiding her actions and serving as a source of strength during difficult times. She participated in numerous church activities and never hesitated to lend a helping hand whenever needed. In addition to her faith and family, Mary had a few hobbies that brought joy into her life. She loved taking road trips with her beloved husband John, exploring new places together, in their younger years they enjoyed attending Polka Dances. Mary was an outstanding chef and baker, you never left her house hungry. Mary will be remembered as a people person who always had a smile on her face and a listening ear. Her friendly and approachable nature drew people to her, and she was always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. Mary's genuine kindness had a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Mary leaves behind her sons Lenny (Jeanie), Edward, Jack (Lucy), James, as well as her grandchildren Christopher, Elizabeth, Benjamin (Jenny), Mason, Roman, Theresa, Stephanie, Joey, Jenny, Jill (step-granddaughter), Benn (step-grandson), and great-grandchildren Arik, Kyleen, Julianne, and Theo. Patrick E. Buchberger, 89, Mosinee, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Copperleaf of Marathon, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. He was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Volhard) Buchberger of Marathon. Pat attended St. Mary’s Grade School and Marathon High School, graduating in 1952. He then went on to college, at what is now, UW Stevens Point. He entered the U. S. Army in 1954, and upon his discharge in 1956, he returned to college to finish his degree. He graduated in 1959 and became a social studies teacher and later, the department head at Mosinee High School where he also became the boys’ head basketball coach and later, golf coach. He retired from teaching in 1991. On Dec. 28, 1968, he married Bernadine "Bonnie" Buchberger at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. Together they traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. They also enjoyed many cruises after retirement. Participating in sports was always a big part of Pat’s life. Besides coaching duties, he also was a WIAA official for football and basketball. While in college he played on the Pointer basketball team. In 2017, he was inducted into the Mosinee High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding basketball skills while in high school. He was the first player there to score over 1100 points during his high school career (When there were no 3 pointers) and is in the Hall of Fame in Wisconsin Dells for that. Besides basketball, Pat enjoyed playing baseball and softball in his younger years. He also enjoyed playing golf, pheasant hunting, deer hunting, trout fishing, and his annual Canadian fly-in fishing trips. Pat was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion, both in Marathon. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two brothers, Claude (Margaret) Buchberger, and Edward (Roseanne) Buchberger, both of Marathon; a sister, Diane Hoblitzel, Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Elaine Peterson, and Jean Luedtke. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Dawn C. Mansfield, 37, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at ThedaCare Appleton Hospital, surrounded by her family. Dawn passed away from pneumonia with respiratory complications. Dawn was born on July 4, 1986, daughter of Cheryl (Weiler) Bliven, and the late Lee Peters. She married Mathew Mansfield on October 1, 2011, at the Grand Lodge at Cedar Creek. He survives. Dawn grew up in Rudolph, Wisconsin, where she attended St. Philips, attended Assumption High School and graduated from Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School in 2005. She attended UW-Stevens Point pursuing a degree in health care administration. She worked as a job coach with Aurora. Dawn was a care provider for Mat’s Grandma and Grandpa. Dawn enjoyed four-wheeling, the Packers and Brewers, she loved to garden and also enjoyed succulent plants. Dawn loved to bake and try new recipes, always sharing the food with others. Dawn was constantly creating special memories with her nieces and was a great aunt. Dawn loved her fur babies and was able to accomplish her bucket list goal of raising a litter of pure breed lab puppies recently. Dawn will be missed most by Token and Butters her labs, and Sasha awaits Dawn in heaven with a snuggle and dog kiss. Dawn is survived by her husband, Mathew, her mother, Cheryl (Les) Bliven, sister Karen Helmer (Jay Johnson), and brother David (Lindsey Dupree), Grandmother Shirley Weiler. She is also survived by her nieces Emily Helmer, Kaylee Dutton, Sidney Helmer, Libby Johnson, Izzy Peters, and Anna Peters and her great-nephew Hudson and great-niece Leanna. She is further survived by her aunts and uncles and many cousins and their extended families. Mother-in-law Pam Mayer (Nic O’Hara) and Grandmother Ellen Mansfield. Beverly R. Riedel, 87, Mosinee, died Friday, October 13, 2023, at Our House Senior Living, under the care of Interim Hospice. She was born August 1, 1936, in Wausau, the daughter of the late David and Almeda (Buttke) Stanton. She married James Riedel on June 2, 1956, in Rothschild. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2023. Beverly grew up and lived in Wausau until she retired from her job as a Layout Editor at the Wausau Daily Herald. At that time, she and her husband Jim built a house on the Wisconsin River in Mosinee. She loved the serenity and peacefulness of the location. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mosinee and loved the Lord. Bev enjoyed knitting, sewing, and quilting, but most of all, an iced cold Miller Lite with Jim. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and even great-grandmother. They all meant the world to her, and she treasured the time that she could spend with them. Survivors, include her two children, Michael (Nichol) Riedel and Brenda (Timothy) Kuhn, both of Mosinee; five grandchildren, Tristan (Amanda) Riedel, Danielle (Nick) Menninga, Arielle (Tanner) Mueller, Seth (Macy Stepan) Kuhn and Rebekah Kuhn; and his great-grandchildren, Grayson, Emerson, and Conrad Menninga, and James Mueller. She is further survived by her siblings, Wallace (Phyllis) Stanton, VR (Jeanette) Stanton, and Beatrice Stanton. Services will be at 11 a. m. Wilma Lucille Fink 92, formerly of Gunther, WI, died on Monday, September 18, 2023, at The Fountains of Hosanna, Lakeville, MN She was born 8/25/31, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Anker Wise. She was made a child of God through the sacrament of holy baptism. She married Rev. Robin Fink on August 11, 1951, at St. Johns of Dancy, WI, God blessed their marriage with 4 children, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Wilma was proud to be a pastor’s wife. Wilma was an avid Avon lady and enjoyed socializing with her customers. She worked in a nursing home where she loved to spend time with residents and help spread the word of God. While serving at Camp Luther she helped to establish a program for disabled children. Wilma was strong in her convictions and enjoyed spreading Gods love. Wilma is survived by three loving sons and one daughter, 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and sister Alice. She was preceded in death by husband Pastor Robin Fink, two grandchildren, three brothers, Leroy, Archie and Charles, five sisters, Leona, Viola, Cecilia Marie, Sarah and Stella. Barb Daniecki entered eternal life on September 20th, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born August 10th, 1946, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The daughter of the late Leo and Minnie (Bennett) Lutzewitz. She married Ronald Daniecki in November 1966 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton, Wisconsin. While Barb had other jobs during her life, none of them were as important to her as taking care of her Homestead. This is where she and her loving husband, Ron, raised their children, various animals, and several large gardens. One of Barb’s hobbies was later canning the vegetables they grew. Barb loved organizing family get togethers, where everyone was served a homecooked meal that included fresh baked pie, her amazing potato salad, and plenty of leftovers. Barb took pride in making sure everyone was well taken care of during deer camp. This started with breakfast and bag of snacks when heading out to the woods, followed by a delicious lunch of homemade chicken noodle soup or her "famous" bucktail stew. Barb enjoyed spending time with her family and friends camping on the Back 40 and in Hodag Country. Barb also enjoyed meeting her friends for happy hour or to watch the Packers. She was an active member of the church and had been a member of St. Mary Anne’s Circle. She will be forever remembered by her husband, Ron Daniecki, her sister Charlotte (Charles) Lovesee, her son, Brian (Nicole) Daniecki, son-in-law, Walter Kruczek, and her grandchildren; Derek (Taylor) Kruczek, Kacee Kruczek, Paxton Obremski, Jayden Daniecki, and Samantha Daniecki. Robert "Bob" Maciejewski, 86, Mosinee, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on July 8, 1937, in Mosinee, WI, son of the late Frank and Dora (Cartwright) Maciejewski. He married Marcia Koskey on Feb. 16, 1957, at St. Paul Catholic Church, she survives. Bob spent most of his working days as a truck driver, prior to trucking, he worked at the Mosinee Paper Mill for about 15 years. In his early trucking days, he drove a semi, roll on 18 wheeler, roll on! His children have fond memories of going on his long haul trips with him. Then in later years, he drove a dump truck hauling mostly black top and gravel. He loved driving so much he worked until he was 81 years old. He always beamed when he talked about driving and all the guys he became friends with over the years. A biproduct of his trucking antics was that his family learned to understand directions using North, South, East and West versus a simple turn right or left. Bob’s favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was an amazing outdoors man, and shared his passion and love of those sports with his children and grandchildren. Bob and Marcia’s pride and joy was their family, they love, cherish and are so proud of each and every one of them. His family was so blessed to have him as a part of their lives and many, many family gatherings where he always led the prayer prior to the meal. Bob loved all things polka related, he loved the Saturday and Sunday polka party on the radio and attended many festivals. He was also a very lucky man, whenever he bought the arms length of raffle tickets, he was sure to win. He also did pretty well in his Packer pools. Bob was a member of the Army National Guards. Bob had a relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, he loved doing his daily devotions, and attended Good News Church. Survivors include his wife, Marcia; their five children, Tara, Bruce, Cindy, Bryan and Kelly, his eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He also has three siblings. Tara’s family includes, her husband Jon Dupuis, their daughter Tonya, son Bobby, his wife Raissa and their children Jack, Wyatt, Elijah and Piper. Bruce’s family includes his wife Pam, their son Cody, his wife Elena and their daughter Raegan. Cindy’s (Sugar) family includes her husband Michael Krey, and her daughters Nicole and Denise Emmerich. Nicole’s family includes fiancé Steve McVey and three children Ashton, Ali and Aaron. Denise’s family includes five children Tulla, Cannon, Kage, Willow and Olive. Bryan’s family includes his wife Kim. Kelly’s family includes her husband Bob Hladovcak, and their children Bryce, Jordan and Lindsey. Bryce’s family includes his wife Morgan, and their son Kade. Jordan’s family includes her husband David Ingram, and their children Rosemary and Eloise. Bob’s siblings include two brothers Richard and Roger and one sister, Joyce Boris.
