Corey Alley, 35, of Eldon, MO, departed from this world on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was an adventurous soul who embraced life with an unwavering spirit. He left behind a void that can never be filled. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Living Faith, 1121 SW Hook Rd, Lees Summit, MO 64082. Corey was born on June 21, 1988, in Kansas City, MO, and grew up in the small town of Peculiar with his grandparents, Gary and Dorthy Peters. Corey was a man who lived life to the fullest. Even from a young age, he longed for adventure. He was always tinkering with something with such passion behind it. Crazy Corrr - his love for the great outdoors was infectious. Whether he was casting a line into his favorite fishing spot, or sitting in the deer stand, his passion for nature was so apparent. His love for going fast, rock climbing, and scuba diving was what kept him living and loving life to the fullest. At a young age, Corey started working as a sub-contractor for a railroad car refurbisher; this is where he found the love for welding. For several years, his love for welding grew and he decided to move on and start the next chapter of his life. In 2017, Corey decided that working and living at the Lake of the Ozarks was the life that he wanted. One of his life long dreams came true and he opened up A-1 Mobile Welding: Dock and Dive. Corey quickly had the lake memorized and did a ton of work for those on and around the lake. Megan Elaine McCoy, 20, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023. She was born in Lake Ozark, Missouri on May 7, 2003, daughter of David McCoy and Rachael Eickhoff. She was a 2021 graduate from Russellville High School in Russellville, Missouri. She was currently attending State Fair College in Sedalia, Missouri and was set to graduate this fall with a degree in Criminal Justice. Megan enjoyed volleyball, camping, music, sunsets, art, and just having a good time. Known to many as the "Selfie Queen", She loved her McDonald's French fries but not as much as she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her parents; David McCoy and Rachael Eickhoff; stepfather, Bobby Eickhoff; brothers, Charles Harrison, Micah Chambers, Malachi Smith, Caleb McCoy; sisters, Anna Eickhoff, Abbygail Eickhoff, Katherine Eickhoff, Rashel McCoy; maternal grandparents, Charles and Carla Johnson; maternal grandparents, David Holman, Deborah McCoy; step grandparents, Harry and Louise Eickhoff. She was preceded in death by her cousins, Joey Johnson and Jeremiah McKibben; uncle, Jay Johnson; aunt, Cindy Horn. William "Bill" Eugene Summers, 94, currently of Eldon, Missouri, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Eldon Nursing & Rehab, surrounded by his family. He was born in Benton, Illinois, on November 23, 1928; a son to the late Rassie Summers and Myrtle (Diagger) Godbey. On January 13, 1948, he was united in marriage to Kathryn "Katie" Louise Sisk in Jacksonville, Illinois. Bill joined the United States Army and proudly served during World War II. He was honorable discharged from active duty in November 1947. Following his time in the service, Bill worked various jobs including for the Railroad, as the Apartment Manager for Wymore Apartments for 10 years, and as a carpenter in Barry, Illinois, building houses. He was also a body and frame guru for Broom's Auto Body for 40 years in total. Bill ended his working career as Maintenance Supervisor for the State of Missouri at the Ike Skelton Training Site. Along with being a working man, Bill was also a loving family man. He took pride in his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with each of them. He loved fishing and was very passionate about archery and making bows. His legacy and life will be remembered and cherished by those who know and love him. He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Katie; children, Robert Lee Summers of Olean, Missouri, Sandra Kay (John) Barbour of Jefferson City, Missouri, Tamara Jean (Gene) Painter of Boonville, Missouri, and Julie Gayle (Tim) Backes of Centertown, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Maudine "Dean" (Hawkins) Edwards, age 95 and 8 months, passed away peacefully from natural causes on October 3, 2023 at Rock Island Village assisted living in Eldon, Missouri. She was born on December 22, 1927 in Brumley, Missouri, a daughter of Roy B. Hawkins and Sue (Jones) Hawkins. She was married to Jack Myler Edwards on October 25, 1948, who proceeded her in death on October 16, 2009. Their marriage spanned over 62 years. Together, her and Jack built a beautiful farm and garden in Ulman, Missouri, which they were always so proud of. Dean was an avid canner of the garden bounties. She loved her many flowers with such a variety. She loved her family beyond explanation and was so loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Dean worked for many companies through the years and ended her career with the federal government (ASCS) until her retirement to the farm and garden, which was the hardest work. She is survived by her son, Dennis Edwards (Becky); two daughters, Debbie Edwards and Terrie Edwards-Arnold; four grandchildren, David Edwards (Rachel), Darrin Edwards (Lara), Eric Arnold and Berkley Silvey. She is also survived by her beloved great grandchildren, Remy Arnold, Noel McKee (Brandon), Haven, Garrison and Addy Silvey, and great, great grandchildren Serenity Edwards, Easton and Brayden McKee and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sue Hawkins; husband, Jack Myler Edwards; brother, Reber and Faye Hawkins; sister, Norma and Walter Hedges; grandson, Shaun Michael Arnold; nieces Christy Hedges McGeough and D'ann Hedges Hellstern; nephews, Larry and Ken Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws, John and Minnie Edwards, Eileen and Irvin Snodgrass, Mary and Lloyd Groves and Rex and Doris Wyrick, whom she loved dearly. Dean was active in her church, the Tuscumbia Christian Church, and was adored by many church members and the Tuscumbia community. She brought some of the best foods to many family reunions and church events. Memorials may be made to the Tuscumbia Christian Church, Tuscumbia, MO 65082. Visitation will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. to 1:00 with the funeral immediately following at the Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. Mary Ann (Letherer) South, 74, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Rock Island Village Assisted Living surrounded by her family. Mary was born on January 11, 1949, in Hillsdale, Michigan to Merlin F. Letherer and Virginia Mae (Griffith) with her twin sister Marjorie Jean Letherer Carr. Mary was raised in Hillsdale County, Michigan and graduated from Pittsford High School in June of 1967. On July 17, 1977, Mary joined the U. S. Army Reserves for 3 years and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where she met and married Clifford R. South on March 15, 1980. They shared nearly 30 years of marriage at the time of his passing on March 7, 2010. Mary and Clifford lived in St. Anthony, Missouri until 1994, then moved their family to Iberia, Missouri. They were active members of the Iberia First Baptist Church from 1988 to 1998 where Mary was active in Sunday School and Outreach. Mary was incredibly adventurous and enjoyed traveling. She loved a good road trip, whether it was a trip down the road to go shopping, or a several day road trip with one of her kids or grandchildren to Wyoming, Florida, Michigan, or wherever sounded fun in the moment. Above everything else, Mary loved to spend time with her family. She was very proud of her children and loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She will always be remembered by her spunky personality, creative and crafty soul, and her sarcastic sense of humor. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. Mary is survived by her daughters, Dawn Evans (Nathan), Amanda Scharfenberg (Roy), Lisa Harper (Rocky), and Jacqueline Hoag (Bob); son, Robert South (Michelle); sisters Helen Jordan, Marjorie Carr, Dora Letherer, Dortha Ming (Scott), and Bonnie Tew (Will); brother Earnest "Dean" Letherer; grandchildren Jamey Evans (Mimi), Moriah Jackson (Cory), Zachary Evans (Gillian), Emily Mettler (Cody), Breanna South, Jacob South, Dylan South, Jason Heinen, Colton Sheehan, Shanoah Sheehan, Rachel Billingsley, Kevin Compton (Shelaine), Nicole Jones (Devin), and Denese Rios (Israel); 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Rock Island Village for their love and support over the last few years. Services to honor the life of Mary Ann South will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri at 4:00pm.
