Quentin Kramer Obituary

Age - 90
October 7, 2023
Wichita Falls, TX
In perfect peace and hopeful anticipation, surrounded by loved ones, Dr. Quentin Theodore Kramer entered the full and glorious presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Dr. Quentin Kramer was born on July 28, 1933, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1950, and from Baylor University, Waco, in 1953. He and Ruth Buchschacher were married in 1955, in Waco, Texas. In 1957, Quentin received his M. D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his internship and orthopedic residency in Kansas City, Missouri. Quentin began his practice in orthopedic surgery in 1961, in Wichita Falls. He continued to practice here until 2003, except during 1967-1969, when he served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U. S. Army Medical Corps at the ASCOM base in Bupyong, South Korea and in Fort Benning, Georgia. His compassion for the troops he respected and served, along with all of his patients, ran deep. While being interviewed at age 85 about his service in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, he wept thinking of the soldiers upon whom he had to perform amputations due to land mine injuries and other casualties. In Wichita Falls, besides being an excellent surgeon with a tender bedside manner, he was known to be extraordinarily courteous and kind to all with whom he worked, regardless of their position. It was a regular occurrence for his daughter and wife to hear heartfelt compliments by numerous nurses, a former hospital switchboard operator, and many doctors of their admiration and appreciation for his respectfulness and humility. He was a member of the Wichita County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and American Medical Association. He also was a member of the Texas Orthopedic Association and was a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1961 and served in numerous capacities and offices through the years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Kramer; by his parents, Rachel and Arnold Theodore ('AT') Kramer; and by all of his siblings, Alice Pearl Griep, Frances May Eggers, Gladys Evelyn Bollmann, Fairy Belle Langland, Clifford Arnold Kramer, Kenneth Bryant Kramer, Clayton Sherwood Kramer and Shari Lynn Gore. He is survived by his daughter Teri Kramer of Fort Worth; his niece, Blair Bueckman (Ralph) of Colorado Springs and their daughters Nancy Landstra (Jon) and Karen Palmer (John); brother-in-law Paul Buchschacher and wife Roxanne of Dallas; sister-in-law Lois Kramer of Wichita Falls; nieces Linda Winfrey (Randy), Laura Barnard (Charlie), Lisa Lawson (Pat), Beth Kramer, Rachel King, Leslie Pascal, Sarah Harmel (Bob), Becky Friedman (Bill), Alison Kramer; nephews Steven Eggers (Julie), Bret Bollmann (Marlene), Richard Kramer (Judy), Timothy Kramer (Audrey), Vance Gore (Elizabeth) and Richard Gore (Nancy). The family wishes to thank his devoted, highly skilled and loving caregivers who were like family - Lauri Endsley, Charlotte Pennington, Dorothy Childs, Hollie Taylor, Kendra Ailey and Melissa Higginbotham, along with Beyond Faith Hospice, particularly Beverly Bustamante and Lisa Chizmadia, who tenderly and efficiently went above and beyond to tend to his needs. Rolling Meadows Independent Living and The Gables provided a very happy home for over 6 years and we thank the many nurses, CNAs, and Home Health ladies who provided excellent medical care, particularly Martha Buck. Life wouldn't have been complete without delicious meals served by caring servers, walks on expansive grounds with magnificent trees and roses, an efficiently run facility, delightful activities, and especially the sweet spirits and warm greetings of other residents who surrounded him at Rolling Meadows. For all of these people and things, Dad and I were grateful. Services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, November 3, 2023 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. A graveside service will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, with a reception afterwards. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4 at 1:00 p. m. For reception or visitation details, please contact the family or Lunn's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorials be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Good Samaritan Fund of Rolling Meadows, Wichita County Medical Alliance Scholarship Fund or to a charity of your choice.
