Arlene Sargent
Age - 83
December 11, 2023
Arlene J. Sargent, 83, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was a loving daughter to Edward & Edith von der Hayden (deceased), loving wife to William Sargent (deceased), sister to Gail Eiseman & Bob Marconi, devoted aunt to Blake Eiseman (Diane), Amy Eiseman (Mark Baer), and Corey Eiseman (Courtney). She was so proud of her great nieces Ellie Eiseman and Lucy Eiseman, and great nephew Jonah Arlo Eiseman. She was so touched and proud that Jonah was named after her. She is also survived by her wonderful Colony Point family and her dear friend and companion David Mitchell, all of whom she loved so dearly. Arlene was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was beautiful inside and out, had a compassionate and loving nature, and was generous to a fault. Arlene grew up in Woodbury, New Jersey. She graduated from Pierce Business School in Philadelphia, PA, and worked at General Electric in Philadelphia as an administrative assistant. She moved to Florida in 1967 to be close to her sister Gail and her family. She worked at International Book, Inc. in Miami, Florida, where she met her husband William Sargent. She and her husband Bill were partially responsible for creating Paymasters, Inc. , a bookkeeping firm that handled paying salaries to musicians and stage hands in Dade and Broward counties. After retirement, Arlene and Bill moved to Colony Point in Pembroke Pines, FL and they both became active on the condo board. When Bill passed away after 25 years together, she remained active in condo duties and became president of the condo board. She was also active on the club board and volunteered at Pembroke Pines City Hall. She was always there for anyone who needed help, so giving to all who knew her. She loved playing cards, dominoes, bunko and bingo, and always enjoyed the activities at the clubhouse with her wonderful family of friends. Her greatest passion was cruising around the world. Her first cruise was with her husband shortly after they were married, and continued throughout her life, from the Caribbean to Alaska, Europe, Asia, Israel, the Panama Canal, Australia and New Zealand. She went on over 60 cruises with many cruising buddies, and what wonderful adventures they had together. Friends and family are invited to attend a "Celebration of Life" service and reception on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Fred Hunter's, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, or a charity of your choice.Show more
