A Visitation and Memorial Service celebrating Pinkney Newell' life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Meyers Northland Chapel Parkville, MO. The Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p. m. , with the Memorial Service commencing at 2:00 p. m. with Ginger Pudenz officiating. Memories of Pinkney and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel. com Pinkney "Pink" William Newell, 71, joined the Lord, surrounded by his loved ones after a long, brave battle with Parkinson's Disease on October 6, 2023. Pinkney was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to P. J. and Marjorie Newell. He graduated from Jefferson City High School, He then attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State), University of Missouri, Columbia and Georgia Tech University culminating in bachelors, masters and specialist degrees in education. He taught math in Ashland and Ritenhour school districts and was a high school counselor in Jefferson City before working with the Missouri Department of Education, eventually becoming a regional director for Social Security Disability.
