Phyllis (Silverman) Cooper of West Hills, CA, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023. Phyllis was born in Chicago, IL, on November 3, 1932, to Morris Silverman and Edith (Pollack) Silverman. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from John Marshall High School where she met Will Cooper. They married in Chicago in 1952, started a family, and in 1969 relocated to Southern California. Phyllis was devoted to her family, and especially eager to cook for, spend time with, and share memories with her grandchildren. She was an expert bowler and bowled in leagues for many decades. As a salesperson at the I. Magnin department store in Woodland Hills, CA, she won numerous sales awards. She worked for many years as a receptionist at Grobstein Horwath & Company in Encino, CA. Phyllis is survived by her four children: Steven Cooper and his wife Suzanne of San Diego, CA; Lynn Wallace and her husband David of West Hills; Diane "DeeDee" Cooper of Woodland Hills; and Lori Cooper of Stevenson Ranch, CA. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Matthew Gussin, his wife Alison, and their daughter Blakely of West Hills; David Gussin, his wife Molly, and their daughter Olivia of Woodland Hills; Rebecca Cooper of New Orleans, LA; Brian Cooper of Brooklyn, NY; Nathan Jones of Chicago; and Charlize Estevez of Davis, CA. Phyllis is also survived by her two brothers, Arnold Silverman and his wife Frayda of Buffalo Grove, IL, and Jerry Silvers and his wife Grace of Las Vegas, NV. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Will Cooper. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, April 26, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Plains of Abraham (Area 29), 6150 Mount Sinai Drive, Simi Valley, CA.
