Phyllis Jean Carlton 73 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Wednesday October 4, 2023, at her home She was born on June 2, 1950, in Henderson, KY to Paul W and Sara R Otey Howard She only had three jobs her entire life, serving the Charlestown community, she served burgers, fries and milkshakes at Duffy's She served patients as a medical assistant at Goodman clinic while earning her LPN License After becoming a nurse, she served her patients at North Clark Community Hospital She often told the story of serving coffee to the board of directors for the new hospital while they were making plans Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Paula S Howard, Patricia A Lindley and brother, Robert A Howard It gives her family great joy to know that she's reunited with her soulmate, Allen Carlton Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Terra L Cochran of Charlestown and Tracy Rae Schindler and her husband Benjamin of Charlestown; brothers, Randall S Howard of Otisco, IN and Richard P Howard of Louisville, KY; sister, Pamela R Resor and her husband Mike of Chapmansboro, TN; grandchildren, Victoria Jean Miller and her husband Shane and John Dalton Cochran; great granddaughter Nioki Marie Miller Life Celebration Services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday October 9, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday

Claude Eugene Simpson was born on April 24, 1941, and passed away in his home surrounded by his family on November 24, 2023. He retired from ICI Americas after 30 years then started his own company and worked an additional 17 years. He served on the L & N Credit Union Board of Directors for 15 years. He has been a Mason (32nd degree) for 50 years, a Kentucky Colonel (over 20 years), and served in the United States Army for 2 years and the reserves for an additional 6 years. He was an avid hunter. He was the pillar of his family and will be missed more than words can express. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Simpson. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Judy, daughters, Teresa Simpson (Allan Watt), Pamela Hardebeck (David), sons, Timothy McCoy (BJ) and Troy McCoy (Chastity), grandchildren Bradley, Breanna, Madison, Mary, Jacob, Joshua, Jackie, Jessie, Christopher, Tiphani, and Sabrina, 6 great grandchildren, a sister, Geneva Fiore (Dave), brothers, Jack Lively, Sam Lively (Delphine) and his loving companion, Toby. Life Celebration Services will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday December 5, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in New Chapel Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday December 4, 2023, and after 9:00 am on Tuesday. Masonic Services will be at 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Leroy Graebe 82 of Hibernia, IN passed away on Thursday November 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 5, 1941, in Jeffersonville, IN to Roy E. and Martha Vest Graebe. Leroy was a member of Main Cross Baptist Church in Charlestown. He worked for Belknap, Inc. , in Louisville, KY for 27 years and after they went out of business he worked for the Clark County Highway Department for 25 years. He was a licensed embalmer and worked for several years with Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown Monument Company and Superior Crematory. Leroy served his community for many years as a member of the Washington Township Water Board, Hibernia Cemetery Association Board member, and as the Owen Township Trustee for 40 years. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, infant son and sister Evelyn Michael. He is survived by his wife, Iva Gribbons Graebe; daughters, Lisa Siewert and her husband Billy of Nabb, IN, Leann Holloway and her husband Gus of Nabb; son Tyler York and his wife Ashley of Charlestown; grandchildren, Emilee Hobson and her husband Joe and Seth Holloway and his fiance Shelby Sandlin, Hadley and Maverick York; great grandpa's little princess, Ellisyn Hobson; brother, Roger Graebe and his wife Margaret of Charlestown; sisters, Jeannie VanGilder and her husband Jerry of Charlestown, Betty Deppe and her husband David of Charlestown; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Terry Allen Franklin, 65, of Charlestown, Indiana passed away at his home on Friday, November 3, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born on November 11, 1957 in Madison, Indiana, son of Charles and Imogene Franklin. Terry retired from Chevron Corporation after 20 years of dedicated service, including his trusted management of gasoline terminal operations in Florida and Kentucky. He then operated his own small engine repair business for 15 years, taking great pleasure in helping people out, restoring their equipment, and going about his work with pride and the meticulous attention to quality and detail for which he was always known and with which he approached every endeavor. Terry also enjoyed maintaining his beautiful landscaping, going on golf cart rides with his wife Karen and their dogs, and playing his weekly round of golf. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Charles G. Franklin. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Franklin; mother, Imogene Franklin; sisters, Tammy Boston (Darrell), Misty Franklin; brother, Chuck Franklin (Missy); sister-in-law, Lisa Moore Stackhouse (Gary); brother-in-law, Jeremy (Kyrah); along with nieces, Jessica, Alye, Karlye; nephews, Jamie and Ryan.
