Phyliss Ann (Krier) Troutner, 72, of Marshalltown, died Friday, June 17, 2022 after an extended illness. A family-led celebration of life open house will be held at the Marshalltown VFW, 107 E. Meadow Lane, on Friday, June 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 p. m. For condolences, please visit www. mitchellfh. com. Memorials may be directed to her family. Phyliss was born October 2, 1949 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Raphael (Bud) and Janie (Barnhill) Krier and was the third oldest of 11 children. She graduated from Carlisle High School in 1967 and held several different jobs ending with her work at the Marshalltown Times Republican at her retirement. She lived her life loving others, and you could always count on her for a game of cards. During the last several years, she really enjoyed her Wednesday card club. On March 26, 1992, Phyliss was united in marriage to Donald Troutner. She was previously married to Merrill Wadle, who passed away in December 1973. She is survived by two sisters: Peggy (Roger) Lowe of Des Moines and Carla (Roger Dirks) Brimson of Marshalltown; four brothers: Kevin Krier of Marshalltown, Keith (Angie) Krier of Green Mountain, Kyle Krier of Prairie City, and Ken (Andrea) Krier of Altoona; sister-in-law Pam Krier of Des Moines; sons: Steve Wadle of Marshalltown, David Wadle (Charles Rigaut) of Paris, France, Anthony Mason of Pleasantville, Andrew (Dawn) Troutner of Melbourne, Mike Troutner of Port St. Lucie, FL, Shawn (Malette Glader) Troutner of Marshalltown, Tracy (Valerie) Troutner of Marshalltown, and Perry Himes of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Merrill (Tyrone), Davison, Cooper, Priscilla, Reese, Josiah, Samuel, Dakota, Cheyanne, Corey, and Laramey; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and other extended family. She was also honorary mother to several of her nieces. Phyliss was preceded in death by her husband, Don, parents, sisters Pat Prosser and Pammie Krier, brothers Richard Krier and Dudley Krier, son Duane Himes, nieces Jana Perry and Becky Brimson, nephew Nathan Krier, as well as other family members. Per her wishes, Phyliss will be cremated and her ashes along with Don's will be spread together at a later date.
