Priscilla Ann Diamond, 31, of Delbarton, WV, died February 13, 2024, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 22nd, 1992, in Huntington, WV, a daughter to Angie Diamond and Cecil Diamond. Priscilla was known as a skilled welder. She was a member of The Church of God, loved Anime, NASA and reading Physics books for fun! ‘Aunt Cill’, as she was known to her kids, was extremely passionate about being an Aunt. She would consistently ‘make the rounds’ to visit family, even when she wasn’t feeling well. Family meant the world to her. Preceded in death by her infant son, Elijah Diamond; Uncle Ed Vanover; grandparents Douglas Diamond, Elizabeth Bailey and Arthur Spruill. Priscilla is survived by siblings Tabatha Sue (Mitchell) Thompson, Robert Lowe (Katie), Keith David Diamond, Deloris (Jordan) Whitt, Gabby Whitt, Hannah Ashley and Marilyn (Mark) Lendearo; Aunts and Uncles, Jean (Happy) Chambers, Mary (James) Craddock, Pam Vanover, Henry (Julie) Bohannon, Bill Bohannon, Diane Hardin, Ben (Pam) Bohannon and Michael (Missy) Bohannon; mawmaw, Lucinda Diamond; Special Cousins, Jessica (John) Sparks, Rodney (Molly) Chambers, Joe (Haley) Chambers, Bub (Marie) Craddock, Josh (Erin) Craddock.......and all of her children. Daniel Lee Mounts 41, of Delbarton, WV passed away at his residence on January 7th, 2024. He was born in Williamson, WV on June 24th, 1982, to Roberta “Hatfield” Mounts and the late Cleties Mounts. Daniel was of the Odinist faith. He enjoyed digging ginseng, riding four wheelers, being outdoors and working on cars. Daniel was a real family man, reliable, loyal, and unapologetically blunt. In addition to Daniel’s mother, Roberta Mounts of Freeburn, KY, he also is survived by his wife, Stephanie “Dials” Mounts of Huntington, WV; his loving children, Daniel Joe Mounts of Logan, WV, Preston Tyler Mounts of Huntington, WV, Christopher Allen Mounts of WV, Athena Mounts of Delbarton, WV, and Kierra Dials of Williamson, WV; brothers, Curtis Jessie Hatfield of Parkersburg, WV, and Cletis (Viola) Mounts of Ragland, WV; sisters, Amy Hall of Matewan, WV, Michelle Crabtree of Freeburn, KY, and Hazel (John) Runyon of Ragland, WV; one grandson, Tre’mir Boatwright of Williamson, WV; and a special friend, Roxie Bowen of Matewan, WV. "Debra Ann “Floyd” Canterbury born August 25, 1951, at Holden WV daughter of George Donald and Mary Rose Floyd peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on January 6, 2024 were Thomas received with open arms his Brown Eyed Girl. Debra faithfully served the Lord for the past 53 years. She was a former member of Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Curtis Booth where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She also was a contributing staff member of Mingo Christian School through the 1980s. Debra also served with her husband in ministry as the founding Pastors of Kingdom Harvest Church. Debra and Tom mentored and helped many young ministers and churches over the past 30 years. She devoted her life to The Lord\u0027s work. Debra’s impact on many communities and churches will remain steadfast for generations to come. Debra was a faithful wife and mother to her family. Her hobbies included many beach trips with her friends especially Judy Adkins, Joyce Lucas, and Donetta Shrum, anything that included her grandchildren, and keeping the Goodwill store in business. Debra was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Thomas Canterbury, her parents Don and Mary Floyd, one sister Jackie Floyd, her in-laws William and Elsie Canterbury, and one special nephew Justin Canterbury. Debra is survived by 8 siblings, Kathryn South , Donald Floyd, Kari Sue Gaddy and husband Buddy, Shelia Keith and husband, Tommy, Sherry Brown and husband, Rick, Terri Floyd, Yvonne Campbell, Jeff Floyd and wife, Beverly, 2 daughters Christie “Lamar” Haynes, and Missie “Art” Curnutte. 2 sons Jason “Melissa” Floyd and Tom “Cristy” Canterbury. She is also survived by her Grandchildren. Chris Haynes, Andrew Floyd, Cody (Katherine) Curnutte, Cheyenne (Justin) Jewel, Paige (Toby) Cranford, Hayley Haynes, Austin Floyd, Aaron Floyd, Alyssa Floyd, Israel (Lakyn) Canterbury, Anna Beth Canterbury, Isaac Haynes, and Tori Canterbury, Great Grandchildren, Navaeh Haynes, Peyton Haynes, Cameron Curnutte, and Wren Collins Floyd. "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend John W. Preece John W. Preece, 77, of Delbarton, WV, unexpectedly departed this life on December 16th, 2023 at Logan Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. John was born on May, 28, 1946 to the late Ada Mae Preece Farley and raised by the late Carl and Pearl Preece in his beloved hometown of Delbarton, WV. In 1964 John graduated from Burch High School. After graduating high school he attended Marshall University where he graduated with a BA in Accounting and a MA in Education. He was a Certified Public Accountant. He also had the distinction of being the Professor of Accounting (Tenured) at the South Williamson Community College in Williamson, West Virginia; and is the previous full-time Instructor at WV State (College) University. Before serving as Mayor of Delbarton, John worked for the State of West Virginia from 1969 to 1988, progressing through the ranks to Upper Management. In 1985, John opened his own Accounting Practice in Williamson, WV on a part-time basis. By 1988, his private practice was thriving and he made the choice to leave State Employment to run his Accounting Practice full time. John practiced as a Certified Public Accountant since 1985. Being the Mayor of Delbarton was John\u0027s passion. He was Mayor from 1997-2019 then re-elected again in 2023. He loved his town and more importantly loved making it a place we can all call HOME. Some of his favorite projects he envisioned and had a big part in creating in Delbarton, were the construction of the park and walking track located by the Elk Creek Bridge, Helena Manor, the Opry House, Coal camp project, and the sewer treatment upgrades. His most passionate project as of late was the Burch High School Hall of Fame Alumni. He served on the board of the Mountaineer Development for over 20 years working to redevelop the town of Delbarton one project at a time. He sat on many advisory boards and was very proud to do so. To say he loved Delbarton with all his heart and soul would be accurate. John attended many Churches throughout his faithful walk with the Lord. He attended Full Gospel Lighthouse with his favorite cousin Jimmy Maynard as pastor. He also attended Regional Church of God with his long time friend Mitchell Bias as pastor. He also as of late attended Connolly Memorial Baptist with Brother Zeke Stepp as pastor. He was very proud of his deep faith and love for the Lord often quoting his favorite bible verse John 3:16. Every day you would find him in Prayer thanking the Lord for his many many Blessings. John is survived by his son John Bradley and his wife Susan Preece and son Braydan Preece both of Delbarton. His beloved grandsons John Bradley and Jacob Preece also of Delbarton. He was forever proud of his Children and grandchildren, always stating “they were the greatest accomplishments of his life”. He was preceded in death by brothers Homer Preece, Les Preece, Carl Preece Jr., and his sisters Maida Allen Klenner , Lucy Swain, and Allene Maynard. He is survived by siblings Roy C Allen Jr., Victoria Allen Scott, Melinda Allen Grimes and George W. Allen. Long time employee and assistant Angela Hamilton, Debbie Starr, Crystal Moore, Stephanie Runyon and Jo Mahon. Business partner and friend Kevin Morgan. A host of Nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, and employees he always considered family. His town council and dear friends as well. John was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him and never forgotten. Funeral services will be held at the Regional Church of God on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 1:00pm with Pastors Mitchell Bias and Jimmy Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Preece Cemetery at Delbarton. Visitation will be at the church Wednesday evening from 6:00pm till 10:00pm. Pallbearers will be Braydan, John Bradley and Jacob Preece, Les and Larry Maynard, Britt Moore, Jeremy Davis, Mark Sizemore, Mont Crum, Steven Cook, Albert Totten, Glen Dale Canada."

William Edward “Billy” Jenkins

"William Edward “Billy” Jenkins went home to be with The Lord on December 13, 2023 at the age of 67. Billy was born on May 9, 1956 to the late Mattie Jenkins. Billy is welcomed into his eternal rest by his son Todd Jenkins, brother Kip Mahon, step brothers Colby James Marcum and Roger Marcum, and sister Nancy Meade. Those left behind to hold his memory include his loving wife of nearly 50 years Violet Jenkins, his son William “Will” Jenkins and his wife Elizabeth, his daughter-in-law Karrie Jenkins, his sisters Dolly Barger and Ashley Giddings, brother, Michael Mahon and his wife, Melissa, his step sister Marlene Crum, his loving grandchildren Kaitlyn, Madison, Caleb, and Slaton, his special nephew Jason Martin, his special niece Crystal Harkey, and a host of other loving family members and friends. Throughout his life, Billy worked as a Coal Miner. He enjoyed everything about being outdoors. He liked to spend time hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler or SXS, and more. In honoring the wishes of Billy, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Little Dove United Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. "Jimmy Goad, a cherished husband, brother, father and grandfather passed peacefully from this world on the evening of Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 82. He was surrounded by the love and warmth of his family while an inpatient in the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. Jimmy was born on April 28, 1941, a son of the late Richard and Lula Goad of Beech Creek, coming into a world he would leave significantly better than he found it. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Winifred Hatfield, Joy Duty, Jean Bates, Liza Hatfield, Lottie Mahon, and June Bailey and his brothers Elmer "Pete", Carl, Harold, Joe, Eugene, Bobby, Lawrence, Jack, Roy, James, and Quintin Goad. Jimmy Dale was a man of incredible work ethic, dedicating his career to the coal mining industry. He was a master of many trades, from carpentry to trucking and various other side jobs, he was always motivated by the welfare of his family. Affectionately known as \u0026quot;Poppy\u0026quot; by his family and "Hoss" by his friends and co-workers. Jimmy devoted his life to his family and his mining career. From his loving wife, Georgia, to his daughters Gloria and Marcella, to his two special grandchildren, Grant and Ragan, family was everything to Jimmy. Health-wise, Jimmy Dale didn't feel his best, however, one wouldn't always know it. You would find him outside anytime he could, tinkering with something, enjoying the wildlife, and of course mowing the grass with his beloved fur-baby, Roxie. From his contagious laugh, to his many stories of mining coal, to his sweet personality that radiated from inside were all part of his massive personality. Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Georgia (Kennedy) Goad; his daughter Gloria Goad-Mibb and her husband Steve of Williamson, WV; his daughter Marcella Charles-Casto and her husband Bryan of Matewan, WV; grandson, Grant Charles of Huntington, WV and granddaughter, Ragan Marcum of Huntington, WV. His enduring love also extended to his two sisters, Grethel Parker (Ronald ) of Mooresburg, TN and Faye Ferguson of Beech Creek, WV and his brother Fred (Reba) Goad of Columbus, Ohio whom he cherished, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who were so special to him. He was extremely proud of his nephew, Dr. John Goad who gave him the best care possible. The family will begin receiving friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 6:00 p. m. -8:00 p. m. in the Chafin Funeral Home --Delbarton, WV. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p. m. with Pastor Stuart "Jay" West officiating in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in the -Kennedy Family Cemetery at Beech Creek, WV, as Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. "Dora Baisden, age 73, entered into her eternal home on December 9, 2023 while at Tug Valley ARH. Dora was born on June 10, 1950 in South Williamson, Kentucky to the late Rush and Geneva Baisden. Dora is welcomed into rest by her parents, her brothers Lee Boy Baisden and Paul Baisden, and her sisters Nellie Clark, Barbara Wolford, and Ida Baisden. She leaves behind her loving brothers Stewart "Duck" Baisden, Orville Baisden, and Rush Baisden Jr. , her loving nephew, Phillip Baisden and his wife Jeannie, with whom she lived with, and a host of other loving nieces and nephews. Dora was a kind soul who enjoyed attending church, listening to music, coloring, and being with loved ones. She regularly attended the Logan Mingo Mental Health center as well. In honoring Dora's memory, services will be held on Friday, December 15 with visitation at 11:00 am and the funeral beginning to 12:00 here at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton, WV. "Gary "Gooey" Troute entered into his eternal home on Saturday, November 11, 2023 While at Tug Valley ARH in South Williamson, Kentucky at the age of 67. Gooey was born on July 19, 1956 in Williamson, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Imogene Troute of Delbarton, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Greta Goff and his brother Jackie L. Troute. He leaves behind numerous loved ones, including his wife of 22 years, Stephanie Harmon Troute of Delbarton, West Virginia, daughters Maria Coviello of Huntington, West Virginia, Alyssa Vance of Huntington, West Virginia, and Kiarah Crossier of North Carolina, brother Brian Parsley, cousins Cecilia Farley Ooten of Delbarton, West Virginia and Jennifer Farley of Huntington, West Virginia, and his dearest friend who was like a brother Britt Moore. Gooey was a member of the Connolly Memorial Baptist Church for many years. He favored Psalm 23 in the Bible. He spent countless years of his life doing what he loved, coaching basketball. He loved being able to coach and spend time with those in the community. He was often found writing stats down during the football and basketball games for Burch High School. Gooey was a friend to all, anyone who knew him. He loved attending Rock and Roll concerts and is known for the quote "Everyday above ground is a good day". He spent time with his three cats, Jack, Rowdy, and Jazz, which whom he loved dearly. He will be very missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Connolly Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Zeke Stepp and Rev. Britt Moore officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm at the church, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. In honoring Gary's wishes, cremation will take place following the services. "Ralph Curtis Ooten 71 of Delbarton, WV passed away November 9, 2023 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY. He was born May 24, 1952 at Holden, WV the son of the late Mike and Opal Brewster Ooten. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Glen, Eugene, Johnny, Flip, and Mike Jr. "June Bug", sister, Thelma Crum and brothers-in-law, Thomas and Joe Crum. Ralph proudly served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He drove a coal truck until he was disabled. He enjoyed attending church at Connolly Memorial Baptist Church and loved telling people about the Lord.
