Peggy Joyce Scott of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on August 24, 2023, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was 89 years old. Born on December 3, 1933, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Peggy was the daughter of Samuel Arthur Evans and Clara Belle (Worsham) Evans. She grew up in Milledgeville and graduated from Peabody High School. Peggy dedicated 23 years of her life to serving others as a receptionist/clerk at McPherson Floral. Her friendly nature and attention to detail touched the lives of countless customers who sought joy through beautiful flowers. She truly valued the importance of bringing smiles to people's faces during both moments of celebration and times of sorrow. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Peggy's greatest role was that of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She married the love of her life Carrol "Scotty" E. Scott, and together they built a remarkable life full of love, laughter, and shared experiences. Peggy cherished their union of 57 years until his passing on February 25, 2011. Peggy is survived by her beloved daughter, Patricia "Trish" Scott of McPherson, Kansas. Trish provided endless love and support to her mother until the very end. In addition to Trish, Peggy's grandchildren, Chris Swick of Manhattan, KS and Rebecca (Matthew) Sanchelli of Overland Park, KS, were the light of her life and held a very special place in her heart. She adored them beyond measure and cherished every moment spent together. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Harold (Wanda) Scott of McPherson, KS; and many extended family members and loyal & faithful friends. Peggy's family was the center of her world. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Gary Scott; a brother, Lamar Cullens; and sister, Debbie Clance. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at McPherson Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Hans was born on November 19, 1953, in Belleville, KS, the son of Arnold Charles and Dorla (Perkins) Andrewson. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1971 and furthered his education at NCK Technical College in Beloit, KS. On June 6, 1975, Hans was united in marriage to Anne Kristine Alkire in Concordia, KS. He was a retired operator/utility man for Enterprise Products in Conway. Hans was a member of First Christian Church, McPherson. Survivors include: his loving wife of 48 years, Anne; three children, Josh Andrewson (Angie) of Salina, KS, Rachel Villalobos (Eric Vannoy) of Lindsborg, KS; and Jacob Andrewson (Jennifer Cavazos-Andrewson) of Katy, TX; siblings, Jill Rettig of Hanover, KS, Jo Cibolski (Ron) of North Port, FL, T. C. Andrewson (Angela) of Bridgeport, KS, and Margene Cash (Gary) of Clyde, KS; seven grandchildren, Chloee Andrewson, Peri Andrewson, Hawk Andrewson, Adriana Villalobos, Alivia Villalobos, Bryce Vannoy, and Madisyn Vannoy; brother & sister-in-law, Mike & Sandy Alkire of McPherson, KS; and many extended relatives and friends. Jessie Louise Huff Cauthorn, reached the age of 42 years, 3 months, and 22 days, and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, December 1, 2023. February 15, 2023, she was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, and Jessie showed an incredible amount of strength and determination. She was born in McPherson, KS on August 9, 1981, weighing 3 pounds and 12. 5 ounces, to Donald J. and Denise (Coy) Huff. She was a fighter from birth. Jessie attended the McPherson schools and graduated from McPherson High School in 2000. She was a devoted, loving mama to Morgan and Hunter, her pride and joy. She was formerly married to Jacob Cauthorn, the father of her children. She also held a special place in the hearts of her nephews, Brayden, Kelley, Craigg, and Nathen Blankenship. Jessie held various jobs, but her passion was working with the public, and most recently, she owned and operated Aunt J’s daycare. Jessie enjoyed making memories with her children, camping, going to Winfield Bluegrass Festivals, and collecting frogs. She thoroughly enjoyed hosting family gatherings with Fourth of July being one of her favorites. Her family will dearly miss her quick-witted personality. Jessie is survived by her children, Morgan and Hunter Cauthorn; parents, Donald and Denise Huff; sister, Katie Blankenship (Chris); her nephews, Brayden, Kelley, Craigg, and Nathen Blankenship; chosen sister, Amy Anderson (Wes); grandma, Karen Coy; and many extended relatives and friends. Jessie was predeceased by grandparents, Robert Coy and James "Jim" & Edith Huff, cousin, Karrie Huff Dooley, and her Baby Dog. "Michelle Gay Lottes, 64, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at McPherson Health And Rehab. Michelle was born in McPherson, Kansas on October 13, 1959, the daughter of Ilene M. (McCulle) and Paul I. Martin, Jr. Michelle attended St. Joseph Catholic grade school, McPherson Middle School and graduated from McPherson High School in 1978. She then attended Sydney\u0027s Beautician School, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in McPherson. In her early years, Michelle worked at Pizza Hut and 10 plus years at Walmart. She had multiple positions for U. S. D. 418 for several years until she retired in 2021. Michelle enjoyed McPherson Bullpup football and basketball games or any high school activities, traveling, loved the holidays (especially Christmas), cow bells and jewelry. She loved having fun, never met a stranger, loved people and spending time with her friends and family. Michelle Gay Burnette was united in marriage to Craig L. Lottes on April 3, 2008 in McPherson, Kansas. "Eugene Kay (Gene) Housholder, 81, of McPherson, KS, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at his home. Gene was born in rural Scandia, Kansas on January 12, 1942, the son of the late Paul Erwin and Helen Virgie (Johnson) Housholder. Gene attended Union Valley District 39 country school and graduated from Belleville High School, Belleville, Kansas in 1959. Through the years Gene worked for Riners RV, Rusty Eck RV, Augusta RV and Adventure RV, all of the Wichita area. Gene was the owner and operator of G. H. Electric of McPherson, Bypass Repair Shop, and did installation of siding. During his high school years, Gene belonged to F. F. A. . Later in life, he was a member of, and a board member of the S. O. S. . He was also a member of the South Main A. A. group and Firehouse A. A. Gene K. Housholder was united in marriage to Dru K. (Brantley) Romme on September 8, 1975 in Lindsborg, Kansas. This union was blessed with a son, Dan and Dru\u0027s son and daughter, Michael and Dawn. Phyllis was born on June 28, 1932, in Centralia, KS, the daughter of Gordon and Berniece Aileen (Conley) Shup. She graduated in 1950 from high school in Russell, KS. She then attended Fort Hays State University. In 1951, Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert E. Eichman in Russell, KS. On November 10, 1972, Phyllis married Marion Ray Becker in McPherson. They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage. Phyllis worked as an insurance clerk at Memorial Hospital for 21 years and then was a payroll clerk for The Cedars. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, former President of UMW, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. He then attended Donnelly College, Lansing, Ks. where he received his Associates Degree in Business Management and later received a Welding Certificate for industrial welding. Through the years Cody worked for Apac Road Construction, Hutchinson, Ks. , he then worked as a pipeline welder for many years and was currently working for TL Steel, Burrton, Ks as a welder. Cody was a great football player, he enjoyed boating, wrestling, camping and spending time with his friends and family. Christine "Chris" J. Glahn, 87, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, at what she considered her home at Loving Care of McPherson. She was a homemaker and most recently worked in the cafeteria at St. Joseph Catholic School. Chris was born on January 31, 1936, in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Edward G. and Bessie L. (Turrentine) Bergstrom. She spent her formative years in Salina and graduated from Salina Central High School. After high school, Chris attended Kansas State University for one year. On January 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Donald Robert Glahn in Salina, KS. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2019. Chris was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she also sang in the choir, helped teach the Happy Notes Sunday School Class, and participated in the Lamplighters Circle. Additionally, she belonged to TOPS Club and the Happy Homemakers FCE. For the past five years, Chris had been a resident at Loving Care, and she received excellent care during her time there. Chris dearly loved the staff, and they went out of their way to make her feel right at home. Survivors include: a son, Stephen Glahn (Michelle) of Marion, KS; daughter, Cheryl Lundberg (Kevin) of Spring Hill, KS; a sister, Virginia Pilcher (Carl) of Valley Center, KS; four grandchildren, April Sinor (Chris) of Eufaula, OK, Donald Tysdal of Moore, OK, Timothy Glahn (Heather) of McLouth, KS, and Janet Klenda (Brian) of Hillsboro, KS; and 14 great-grandchildren. Karen Elizabeth Rhodes, 80, of Solomon, passed away Sunday, October 22nd, 2023. Karen was born in McPherson, Kansas on June 24, 1943, a daughter of Myrtle Lucille (Achilles) and Julius Andrew Nelson. She was happily married to Lynn Rhodes for over 40 years. They were married in Enid, Oklahoma. She and her beloved husband Lynn owned and ran Rhodes Repair for many years. Karen was a 'Jack of All Trades. ' She enjoyed making something amazing out of nothing. Whether she was fixing shopping carts, building doll houses and many other woodworking projects to even building a race car she would always make it happen. In her younger years, Karen loved the theater and being on stage. She was an amazingly unique individual who loved life and loved her people. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn Rhodes; sister, Charlotte Ratzlaff; and brother-in-law, Paul Hubenett. Survivors include her brother, Keith Nelson (Lessa), of Salina, Kansas; sister, Elois Hubenett, of Windom, Kansas; step daughter, Paula Singleton, of Solomon, Kansas; step son, Thad Rhodes, of Salina, Kansas; her grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, and many of her chosen family and friends. Corey was a Quality Control Inspector at Mid Kansas Machine and was a life-long resident of McPherson. He was born Oct. 2, 1962, in McPherson, the son of Robert E. and Juanita M. "Corky" (Smay) Flood. Corey attended the McPherson Schools and graduated from McPherson High School in 1981. On November 28, 1992, Corey was united in marriage to Ida Jean Oriet in McPherson. This union was blessed with five children.
