Herbert L. Crawford, the son of the late Purvis Crawford and Burnie L. Green Smalls was born on December 17, 1935, in the rural area of Colleton County. He departed this life on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He attended the public schools in Colleton County. He graduated from Colleton High School. Herbert worked at Westvaco Paper Mill at an early age. The name of the company was changed to Meade Westvaco. He decided to give working up in the year 2000. His words were, "I retired not to work. " He joined Macedonia United Methodist Church at an early age. He was an active member until his health failed him. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Kim Lewis Crawford in September of 1986. No children were born to this union. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter (Joyce Crawford Glover). They spoke with each other daily, sometimes more. He enjoyed teasing his Son-in-law (Kenneth Glover). He loved and talked about his great grands all the time. He liked to joke and laugh with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Purvis Crawford, and Burnie L. Green Smalls. He is also preceded in death by siblings; Exell Crawford, Clarence Crawford, James A. Crawford and Mary Emma Harshaw; grandson, Desmond A Bedford; stepson, Troy Lewis and all of his aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of the home, Kim L. Crawford; daughter, Joyce (Kenneth) Glover of Ridgeville, SC; two great-granddaughters, Aamira S. Bedford of Charlotte, NC, and Aaliyah N. Bedford of Summerville, SC; Sisters-in-law, Cathy Wilson, Jackie Wilson, Robin Wilson, and Tina Wilson of Augusta, GA and brothers-in-law, George Wilson, Terry Wilson of Augusta, GA and Glen Wilson of Maryland; a special nephew, Dwayne (Mona) Crawford of North Carolina; a friend, like a brother, Nathaniel Bligen; co-worker friends, Frank Rollins and Clay Simmons and a host of family and friends. Nina Madge (Ramey) Martin, age 96, resident of Shelby died Friday, October 20, 2023 in Walterboro, South Carolina. Born August 28, 1927, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky to Willie Wagoner and Stella Smith, she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. Madge was a proud mother and homemaker. She was a great cook. She had a special knack for bean salad that became a holiday staple. Madge loved her family and was a faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a lover of animals across the board; she took care of many pets throughout her life. Feeding any that she could. Her little dog Chewy, cats Peewee and Willard are going to miss her severely. Madge enjoyed country music and was a huge Elvis, George Jones and Tanya Tucker fan. Looking her best was important to Madge. She kept a standing appointment at the hair salon, every Thursday for 40 years. 22 of those were spent with Michelle. Madge loved flowers, gardening, canning, visiting local Amish shops and was a collector of many trinkets. There will never be enough kind words to say about Madge. She would give the shirt off her back to help someone out. Survivors include her children, Junior (Violet) Wagoner of Shelby, Lester H. (Brenda) Ramey of Galion, Julie Ann (Louis) Page of Cincinnati, Roger Ramey of Mansfield, Donald "Duke" Ramey of Mansfield, Randy Ramey of Greenwich, and Richard "Ricky" Ramey of Salt Lick, Kentucky; her granddaughter whom she considered her daughter, Stephanie Bowman. A brother, Willie (Novenda) Wagoner of Morehead, KY; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives. She had a special place in her heart for her grandsons Jimmy and Maysen and great granddaughter, Harper. Madge re-married later in life and acquired many friends throughout the 9 years they spent together In addition to her parents, Madge suffered the loss of her son Bobby Wagoner; an infant baby boy Dale Wagoner; a brother and 4 sisters. Her beloved husband of 58 and true love of her life, Lester Ramey whom she married August 26, 1951. It was said that they had the "Cadillac of Love". Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM at Oakland Cemetery officiated by Pastor James Robinson. Mother Annie Mae Goodson Harvey, the daughter of the late Louise Goodson Thomas, was born June 20, 1926, in Columbia, South Carolina. As a youth, she was reared by her grandfather, the late Mr. Thaddeus Goodson, whom she took to as her "Dad". She began receiving her early education at the former Reeder Point Elementary School and then Booker T. Washington High School, both of Columbia, SC. In 1943, as she became a young adult, she relocated to Paterson, New Jersey; where she would go on to enroll and graduate from Central High School. In her adulthood, she entered the workforce and became employed with the Spotless Dry Cleaners of Paterson, New Jersey. Seeking for more, Mother Harvey received her Certification in Nursing. She became employed with Bergen Medical Center of Paramus, New Jersey as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Lastly, she transitioned her employment to Preakness Hospital of Wayne, New Jersey and would remain an active and dependable employee, until her retirement. Believing in love and companionship, Annie Mae was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. William Harvey, on May 31, 2000. These two would relocate to Walterboro, South Carolina and spend their "Golden Years" enjoying the love of one another and their families. A woman of faith and total trust in God, in her early years, she became a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church of Paterson, New Jersey. After relocating to Walterboro, she became a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health would no longer allow her to. Mother Annie Mae Harvey was a true demonstration of love. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and more, not only to her biological family; but to all her friends, neighbors, and those whom she blessed with her presence. She possessed a "Whit" where once you met her, you could only say, "Yes Ma'am" and walk away with a smile. She loved the joys of life and her family. She loved sharing in her wisdom and just spreading her infectious smile with everyone whom she could. After ninety-seven years of a wonderful life, we believe she has heard the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant!" During the evening hours of Monday: October 16, 2023, Mother Annie Mae Harvey bid these earthen shores a farewell, as she entered from labor to her eternal reward. Preceding in death along with her beloved mother, are two sons, Michael, and Norman Goodson: and one step-son, Michael Harvey: Left on this side to forever honor the essence of the legacy of her life are: husband, William "Willie" Harvey of the home: one son, Mark (Sharon) Goodson of Paterson, New Jersey: one daughter in law, Angie Washington-Goodson of Hackensack, New Jersey: Grandchildren; Clesia G.
