Mrs. Peggy Myers, age 81 of Crossville, passed away Friday September 8, 2023, at Life Care Center of Crossville. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law: Barabara Brown, and Susan and Shane Smiddie. Two grandchildren: Alyssa Smiddie Barnett and Ryan Smiddie. Along with several friends and loved ones. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Davis Funeral Home in Harriman is honored to serve the family and friends of Mrs. Margaret Myers.

With a very sad and heavy heart, Della "Dee Dee" Bunch, age 55 has went home to be with our Lord and loved ones that went before her. She passed on December 4, 2023 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She is preceded in death by her father James "Jimmy" Davis; mother Corene Davis; sisters Brenda Sue Hensley, Wanda Potter and Sherry Davis. She leaves behind her daughter Danielle McCartt and husband Samuel; grandchildren Camden, Austin and Colt Samuel; husband Edward Bunch; ex-husband David (Keela) Greene; special family Lorene Kennedy, Nancy Ward, Cassie King, and Blake King along with many nieces, nephews and other family members. Dee Dee loved life and "keeping up with the Joneses’". She was a spitfire who loved her family. She will be very missed by all that knew her. The family will receive friends Monday, December 11, 2023 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5:00-7:00 p. m. with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p. m. with Bro. Lonnie Lowe officiating. Nick Pennington passed away in the comfort of his home on December 3rd, 2023 in Harriman, TN at the age of 60. Nick was a friend to many. He had a caring nature and loving heart. Nick enjoyed his family and guns. Nick was a fighter until the very end- an inspiration to many. Nick was survived by his wife Carol Pennington, 1 son, sister Vicki Cline, brother John Pennington, sister Nancy Pennington, 2 step daughters Melissa York and Angela Kreilach. Nick had many nephews and nieces that he loved dearly along with 4 grand kids and 2 great grand kids. Many other family members not mentioned above. Nick was preceeded in death by mother Carol Hoover and father Elvin Pennington, step father Ellis Hoover, 2 sisters and 1 brother along with his baby nephew. Ruby Elizabeth Scott Gosnell, age 83, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Howard, Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born May 18, 1940. Ruby retired after 27 years from the Morgan County Courthouse where she was a Deputy Clerk for the Circuit Court Clerks office. She was a member of the Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. Ruby’s love for her family and friends was a reflection of her love for the Lord. The baked goods and casseroles that she enjoyed making for everyone was her blue ribbons in life. Waiting for this day was her only travel plans. She will be truly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Howard Gosnell; daughter Serita Gosnell; parents Sam and Glenna Scott; brother John F. Scott; grandson Grant Gosnell; father-in-law and mother-in-law Burl and Blanch Gosnell and God-son Billy White. Ruby leaves behind her son Harry (Tammy) Gosnell; special niece Melissa (Randy) Winegar; grandchildren Elaine (Adam) Walden, Troy Gosnell, Tori (Jesse) England, Meghan (Justin) Dagley, Alisha (Ryan) Helton, Matt (Melissa) West and Autumn Nagy; great grandchildren Logan & Kinsley Walden, Braylee & Teylee Dagley, Brody & Brielle West, Levi, Chloe and Maverie England will arrive March 2024. Sister: Rachel (Lee) Smith and a host of family and friends. Aaron Jacob "Jake" Young, age 22, passed away November 27, 2023. He was born June 13, 2001. Jake was a member of the Macadonia Baptist Church on Gobey. He loved fishing and riding motorcycles, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He loved making people laugh and smile and he had such a good sense of humor. Jake is preceded in death by his great grandparents John & Sally Bell and Essie Lively Truesdale. Jake leaves behind his mother Bobbie and stepdad Jason Thomas; father Donnie Young; special grandparents John & Carol Bell and Ray & Christine Young; brothers Donnie Young, Jr. , Zackary Young, Lathan Chaney, Silas Young, and Bishop Young; sister Sally Young; special aunt Suzie Bell, Crystal Cox and husband Jason, Barbara Carroll; uncle Johnny "Johnboy" Bell and a host of cousins and friends and extended family. He will be missed by his family and friends, but we will cherish the many memories that he has left with us. Will always be remembered by many for his big heart, kindness devotion, dedication, wittiness, and hard work. Brad is preceded in death by his grandparents Reese and Louise Heidle; uncles Robert Heidle and Jerry Rose, and Donald Gregg; aunt Martha Heidle. Katy L. Heidel, age 75, of Wartburg TN passed away November 19, 2023. Katy was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Wartburg, TN. She worked as a teacher assistant for the Morgan Co. School System where she touched many lives. She was happily married for 56 years to Mitchell Heidel. Katy was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Zola Brown, and siblings Doyle Brown, Ella Johnson, Glen Brown, and C. L. Brown. She is survived by her husband Mitchell Heidel, children Angie Robinson (Mark), Eric Heidel (Vonda), grandchildren Alex Newport, Alexandria Eskola, Sumer Evans (Brandon), Madison Fishman (Lucas), McKenzie Moore (Jordan), Morgan Heidel, Ian Robinson and the late Markayla Robinson, great grandchildren Alyssa Evans and Neyland. Surviving siblings include Bernice Hennessee (David), Clayton Brown and several beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday November 25, 2023 from 9:30-11:00 a. m. at St Paul’s Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a. m. with Pastor David Graves officiating. Naomi B. "Thomas" Freytag born June 13, 1925 departed this life for her heavenly home November 21,2023 surrounded by her family. Naomi was a strong christian woman and a long standing member of the First Baptist church of Wartburg. She was one of the founding members of the Wartburg Beautiful Association and an active member of the Wartburg Senior Citizens. She enjoyed family get togethers, spending time with all her littles, embroidery, and making fried apple pies. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 73 years A. B. Freytag; Son Allen Freytag; Grandson Phillip Freytag; Parents CT and Louise (Hullett) Thomas; Sisters Marie, Ruth, Betty; Brothers CT Junior and Jim. She leaves behind her son Glen and Ann Freytag; Daughter-in-law Paula Freytag; Grand Daughters Angie (Lynn) Bunch, Kim (Alan) Keller, Andrea Adams, Jennifer (Kesler) Young; Grand Son Keith (Cindy) Freytag; 10 Great Grand Children; 11 Great Great Grand Children. Jessie Joydean Adams Taylor, age 97, went home to be with the Lord on November 19,2023, at the Oneida Nursing Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was a member of Chestnut Ridge Community Chapel until she moved to Scott County. She was known for her strong faith and great love for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Anna Elizabeth and John Calvin Adams, husband of 66 years Huston Taylor. Sons- baby James and Jerry. Daughters- Jeannie son-in-law Leo, Daughter-in-laws Cindy, Sherri, and several brothers, sisters, and grandchildren. Joydean is survived by her daughters: Justine, Jesselyn, Anna, Rose (Cindy Nuckols), and Lisa (Dennis Anderson). Sons: Jeff, Joey (Colleen), David (Grady Franklin), and John (Tish Taylor) 31 Grandchildren, 80 Great Grandchildren, and 58 Great Great Grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
