Youngstown, Pearl M. "Peggy" Merolillo, 84, formerly of Campbell. went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2023. Peggy was born on March 15, 1939, in Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah (Grapes) Rose. Peggy worked in sales for Jewel Mart, in Youngstown, and later did Home Health Care. Peggy was a longtime member of Victory Christian Center where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was part of many other church ministries. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Cathi Donlon, and her son, Pete Merolillo, nine grandchildren, Domenic, Carmen, Samantha, Melissa, Matthew, Kayte, Christopher, and Tessa, and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Shari Estes, granddaughter, Kristina Lewis, and her brother, Larry Rose, Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc. , 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Peggy's name. The family would like to thank Omni Manor and Hospice House for the great care given to their mother.

Carol Lynne (Cowen) Girgis, 85, of Alleyton, Texas passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Carol was born December 21, 1937 in Bellaire, Ohio to Duane Tompkins Cowen and Gwendolyn Marjorie (Seabrook) Cowen. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Dr. Kamel "Doc" Girgis; her daughter Dr. Magda Girgis and her spouse Connie Jenkins; her son Christopher Girgis, his wife Beverly (Neal) Girgis and their children, Zoe and Brady; and her niece August (Cowen) Runk, her husband Cole Runk, and their sons JC and Hunter. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Daniel Duane Cowen, Richard Warren Cowen, and Curtis Phillip Cowen. In her teens, Carol moved with her family from Ohio to Galveston, Texas, where she graduated from Galveston Ball High School and soon after entered the University of Texas Medical Branch School of X-Ray Technology. After graduating with her Medical X-Ray Technician certification, she took time to travel Europe, starting her love for all things British - Earl Grey tea and Marmite on toast, always favorites. She returned to the Houston area to work in the St. Luke's Episcopal & Texas Children's Hospital. It was during this time that she met Kamel and they married soon after. Kamel and Carol moved to Cairo, Egypt where Carol served as the Director of the Egyptian American Cultural Center and became fluent in Arabic, one of many languages she learned. Upon returning to the United States, Carol obtained Bachelor's Degrees, with Honors, in English Literature & Psychology from Houston Baptist University and dedicated her life to being an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and serving others through philanthropy, charity & time. Carol was a lover of the literary, performing, and fine arts. She volunteered at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, could always be found in a local library, book store, or enjoying a book with a nice glass of Chardonnay. She was an accomplished stage actor, headlining in several productions in the Houston community theater scene, and she also shared her love for chorus by singing in the Choirs of the Episcopal Church of Epiphany in Houston and St. John's Episcopal Church in Columbus. Friends of the family are invited to attend a Remembrance & Celebration of Carol's life on Saturday, October 14th at 9:30 AM, at the Christ Episcopal Church, located at 306 E. Waneta "Needy" Prosser, 90Waneta "Needy" Prosser, 90 of Ashland passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Lutheran Village. She was born on November 17, 1932 in Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl A. and Nellie (nee Haught) Davis. Needy graduated from Shadyside High School in 1950; where she was president of her senior class. She married the love of her life, William E. Prosser on January 10, 1953. The couple would call Ashland home. Needy worked as a secretary all of her career. She was employed at Hazel Atlas Glass, Mohican Rubber, Ashland College, Ashland Equity, and First United Methodist Church. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church. Throughout her life, she was a girl scout leader, a volunteer with the PTA, co-founder of Ashland High School Band Parents; and worked as the county 4-H program assistant and junior fair secretary. Needy is survived by two daughters, Martha (Keith) Crone of Ashland and Ellen Keets of Ashland; one son, Bill (Kathy) Prosser of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren, Tom (Amy) Crone, Mary (Serguei) Crone-Romanovski, Kerri (Bryce) Thiel, Katie (Ryan) Ramsey, Meredith (Taylor) Hall and Steven (Molly) Prosser; and six great grandchildren, Caeden and Zoe Crone, Westin and Hadley Thiel, and Alex and Isaac Ramsey. In addition to her parents, Needy is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William E. Prosser who passed away on March 21, 2018; a son-in-law, Robert Keets; three sisters, Fay (Don) Kress; Audrey (John) Kirby, and Susan (Paul) Tracy; and two brothers, Willard "Bud" (Sally) Davis and Clyde (Esther) Davis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Snyder presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m.
