Pawan Singla, age 83, of Schaumburg, Illinois, passed away on September 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on May 15, 1940 in India and immigrated to the United States in July 1970, where he embarked on a remarkable journey filled with achievements and cherished moments. He is the epitome of living the American dream! Pawan was a devoted husband to his late wife, Shashi Singla, and a loving father to his three children: Vinnie (Dana), Atul "Alex" (Parita), and Terry (Purva). Pawan was a doting grandfather to eight grandchildren: Paige, Brandon, Brooke, Dylan, Kiran, Anaya, Siya, and Arya. He was a distinguished Mechanical Engineer, graduating from Panjab Engineering College in 1961, and contributed his expertise to several renowned companies, including Environmental Systems Design (ESD) in Chicago. Pawan loved talking about some of his projects which included Rush University Medical Center, Schaumburg Convention Center, Chicago Board of Trade, Northwestern University Main Library, and the Peninsula Hotel. Pawan's dedication and passion for his work left a lasting impact on the field. Pawan's greatest joys in life were his passion to spend time with his many friends and for travel. He explored nearly 50 countries, creating lifelong memories and fostering a deep appreciation of the world. Visitation to pay your respects will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory located at 950 S Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd. ), Bartlett, IL. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of cremation 1:00 pm at the same location. Pawan Singla will be remembered as a gentle soul and for his enduring love, unwavering dedication, and zest for life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Born in Chicago, Rose grew up in Park Ridge attending Catholic schools, graduated from Loyola University, and became a special education teacher. She met the love of her life in a nursing home, married him, and enjoyed forty-one years with her hubby. She became the world's bestest stay-at-home mom to her six kids, being their first and greatest teacher. Being a wife and mom always came first, and Rose brought that love and passion to the classroom, teaching those who needed extra help. Giving back to the Catholic School system, Rose spent time substitute teaching and was a special education resource teacher. She coached soccer and volleyball and would cheer the loudest for every kid on the team. She went to countless sporting events and scouting activities and made it to every school function throughout the years. Always a fighter, she beat breast cancer, and while these last few years were hard, she never gave up. Rose will always be a shining example of the Catholic faith, everyone's most favorite auntie, the best wife, mom, gramma, and she had an impact on anyone who had the honor of being a part of her life. Jill Leslie Sbarboro, nee Soderberg, age 46 of Schamburg. Beloved wife of David Carl Sbarboro and loving mother of Alexis Sbarboro, Hannah Vassmer and Olivia Sbarboro. Jill was an incredible pet mom to Hudson and many other furry, four legged friends who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Jill is the dear daughter of the late Donald and Patricia Soderberg and loving sister to Christian Soderberg, Erick (Geri) Soderberg and Karrie Soderberg. Maganbhai Patel, age 88, of Schaumburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on December 1, 2023. Born in the small village of Samarda, Gujarat, India, on February 25, 1935, Maganbhai was a man of deep faith, selflessness, and generosity, whose spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Maganbhai was the beloved husband of the late Kamalaben Patel, with whom he shared a life filled with love and devotion. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them from their homeland to the vibrant community of Schaumburg, where they became pillars of their new home. He was a loving father to his sons, Kanaiya (Hina) Patel and Ghanshyam (Trusha) Patel, who will forever carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. The son of the late Dahiben and Nathabhai Patel, Maganbhai was a man who honored his roots and the lessons of his parents. He instilled in his family the values of hard work and the importance of giving back to the community. His role as a proud grandfather to Digyna, Rajiv, Monica, and Dhruv was one he cherished deeply. Through his stories and wisdom, he left an indelible mark on their hearts and minds. Maganbhai's life was a testament to his faith-filled existence. He was an active member of his local temple, where he not only practiced his beliefs but also extended a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was often found volunteering or simply lending an ear to a friend in need. A dear brother, uncle, and friend of many, Maganbhai's absence will be felt across the community he helped build and nurture. His infectious smile, warm embrace, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends will be sorely missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to know him. David Carey

David Carey passed away suddenly in his Schaumburg home on November 22, 2023. David was born on November 2, 1962 in Woodstock, IL to John Kevin Carey and Barbara Ann Carey. He was the third of four children. He grew up in Woodstock, IL, and graduated from Woodstock High School, where he played baseball and varsity football. Post-high school David worked for three years as an oil rig deck hand in Oklahoma before returning home to work with his father, John Carey, in the family construction business. He then started his career at United Airlines, first as a reservation specialist, then as a ramp service associate. During this time David earned his Airframe and Powerplant License at Richard J. Daley College after which he had a 25+ year career at United as an aircraft mechanic. David was very proud of his United career, earning the respect of his co-workers as well as numerous awards. It was during his time as a mechanic that he was honored to accompany two flights of U. S. troops home from battle in Iraq. David was always there for his children, as a soccer and baseball coach, Boy Scout Leader as well as being chauffeur and chief cheerleader for his daughter in her cheer activities. David was very proud of his two son's enlistment in the Navy and their patriotic service. David is survived by his three children, Kyle (Jackie) Peterson, John Nolan Carey and Grace Carey, and two grandchildren, Peyton and Owen Peterson. He is also survived by his siblings: Gail Carey (Fred Faulkner); Carol (Brian) Buckley; Jeff (Kim) Carey; and four nieces and nephews: Jack Buckley (Godson), Abby (Eric) Luhrsen, Olivia Carey and Ty Carey, and many cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara Carey. Visitation will be at Schneider Leucht Merwin Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. William Michael 'Mike' O'Brien (Major USAF, Ret. ) aged 87, died peacefully on November 18th 2023 surrounded by his wife and children. Mike was born in Akron, Ohio in 1935 and was the oldest of five children born to William 'Bill' O'Brien and Mildred 'Milly' O'Brien. After graduating from Akron University in 1959, Mike married his wife Carol and started his career as an officer in the US Air Force as a special investigator. The Air Force gave Mike many important experiences throughout the Cold War and allowed him to see many places in the world. After retiring from the Air Force in 1979, Mike worked for years in the private sector and in the federal government. Mike was a history buff, avid reader, lifelong learner, lover of Irish music, and the player of thousands of rounds of golf over the last 87 years. He loved socializing and sharing time with his family and his many great friends. Mike is survived by his wife Carol (nee Williamson), and children Michael O'Brien (Kelly), Catherine O'Brien, Joseph O'Brien (Christine), and Elizabeth O'Brien, grandchildren Michael O'Brien (Courtney), Shane O'Brien (Casey), Charlotte O'Brien, and great-grandchildren Jackson and Eleanor O'Brien. Siblings Joseph D (Linda) O'Brien, Robert J (Sarah) O'Brien, Maria (Richard) Adante, and John T (Susan) O'Brien, and many nieces and nephews.
