James Vivian “Jimmy” Lewis, 70, of Pelham died Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his residence in Pelham.Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home. Apostle Ann Bradley will officiate.Born April 19, 1953 in Camilla, GA, he was the son of the late William Braxton Lewis and Margaret Williford Lewis. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Larry Lewis and Hugh Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a farmer and a member of Zion Christian Outreach Ministries.Survivors include his wife, Alma Ward Lewis of Pelham; two children, David Lewis (Karla) and Catherine Forehand (Richard); four grandchildren; two step-sons, Brandon Bentley and Antario Bentley; a step-daughter, Brittany Ward; and a host of nieces and nephews.Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carmaleta Moore Schoch, 92, of Albany, GA, died January 8, 2024 at Archbold Living in Pelham, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Christ Church on Bryon Plantation Road in Albany, GA. Dr. Gary Brady and Pastor Jeff Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Schoch was born in Mercer County, MO on August 27, 1931 to Walter and Daisy Moore. She graduated from Leon High School in 1949 and married Donald F. Ivins soon after. She married Joseph T. Schoch in 1969 and they lived in Leon, IA and eventually moved to Pelham, GA in 1970. Mrs. Schoch was a legal secretary and was the manager of the Jewelry Department at Hopkins Drug Store. In 1983 they settled in Albany, GA where she was active at Christ Church. Mrs. Schoch loved to play Bridge, arrange flowers, cook, spending time with her family and Ball Room Dancing. Survivors include her children, Ronda I. Bailey of Albany, GA and Randy (Vickie) Ivins of Camilla, GA, Anne Schoch and special friend Beth Wilkes of Sylvester, GA and Kathy Vansice of Des Moines, IA, her grandchildren, Chris (Rose Marie) Jones of Leesburg, GA, Hunter Ivins of Bainbridge, GA, Heather Woody of Thomas County, GA and Jason (Kylie) Barwick of Grady County, GA, eight great-grandchildren, Lindsey Jones, Caleb Jones, Mary Ella Ivins, Daylee Woody, Ashlynn Woody, Isabelle Woodly, Kale Barwick and Karson Barwick. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday at Christ Church. Those desiring may make memorials to Christ Church, 505 Byron Plantation Road, Albany, GA, 31721.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Elliott Brooks, Gene Brooks, Roland Brooks, Rodney Brooks and sisters, Carolyn Brooks and Sara Green. Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the United States Army. Alene Leah Hurst Barfield, 97, passed away in her home on November 18, 2023. She was born on April 26, 1926 in Meigs, Ga. She was the daughter of Carl Barnett and Leah Shirah Hurst who proceeded her in death. She was married to Lubie Barfield, who Preceded her in death. Alene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 3, 1953. Alene was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Malcolm Barfield and Tommy Eugene Barfield along with 11 siblings. Alene is survived by her two sons Glenn Dale Barfield (Charlotte) of Pelham, Ga and Quinton Earl Barfield (Barbara) of Meigs, Ga and her three daughters Sandra Lee Daughtry, Vickie Lynn Free (Billy), and Marian Lorain Glenn (Steve) all of Meigs, Ga. Two sisters Eloiuse Draughon of Meigs, Ga and Jeanette McGuire (Alvin) of Pelham, Ga. Grandchildren, Michelle Barfield, Angel Nikki Smith (Larry), Jason Barfield (Robin), Lance Barfield, Shea Glenn (Anna), Pamela Hudson (Josh), Josh Daughtry (Ashley), Tina Foster (BJ) and Lacey Carter (Joseph), 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Ronald Moree Sr

Ronald Clayton Moree, Sr. 85, of Leesburg peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at his home while surrounded by his beloved family. Ronald Clayton Moree was born in Pelham, Georgia in August of 1938. He was the youngest of Earl and Dollie Moree's 10 children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma (RH) Dismuke, A. G. Moree, Russell (Nita) Moree, Edgar (Marie) Moree, Edna (Mac) McDonald, Nancy (Val) Gabaldon, Earlene (Bud) Greene, Faye (Frank) Shoupe, and Donald Moree. At a young age, his family studied the Bible and grew in knowledge of the scriptures. On December 13th, 1953, Ronny was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He served as an Elder for more than 55 years. He had the pleasure of teaching the Bible to multiple people over the years. To many, he was a father figure and treated them as family. Ronny was never afraid of hard work. As a young man of 17, he left home to serve at the worldwide headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in New York. He lived there for several years before returning home and meeting Barbara Richter from Rose Hill, just outside of Moultrie Georgia. They married in August 1960 and had 3 children. Clay Moree (Candy) of Leesburg, Kim Leblanc of Leesburg, and Matt Moree (Stacy) of Newnan. 8 Grandchildren, Brooke Shanley (Matt), Blake Leblanc (Taylor), Katie Lewis (Joel), Alexa Moree, Michael Greene, Andrew Moree, Samantha Moree, and Evan Moree. 5 great-grandchildren, Tucker, Bennett and Claire Shanley, Cameron Leblanc and Ollie Gamble. In addition, he leaves numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many Brothers and Sisters of the Christian congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Ronny was a successful entrepreneur who had a well-respected business in Albany. He was known to be trustworthy, to look out for his customers, and to go the extra mile. He enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He was a great golfer and even shot lower than his age several times. He had multiple holes in one. Ronny will be missed and irreplaceable to those who knew and loved him. Ronny did have the hope that if he were to die he would live again. This promises he learned from the Scriptures found in the Bible.
