Pauline Jane Carroll "Pinky", age 90 of Shelton entered into rest on June 18, 2022 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late James Carroll. She was born in her family home in Shelton on April 7, 1932, daughter of the late Andrew and Matrona (Kowtko) Klapik and lived there her entire life. Pauline spent her lifetime caring for others as a CNA at United Methodist Home where she also helped to train other CNA's for over 35 years. She could easily be described as one of the kindest, loving, caring and compassionate people one could know. Pauline spent her lifetime caring for animals as she helped to manage her family's dairy farm. She liked to crochet, sing and dance, loved music, the game show network, doing word search and watching UCONN Women Basketball. She is the beloved mother of Joan Permar and her husband the late Frank, Nancy Day and her husband Larry, Joyce Wilson and her husband Mark and the loving grandmother of Rebecca Miller, Mark Wilson, Stephen Permar, Rachael Wilson, Carley Day, Katelyn Lombardi and Lawren Day-Pires and their loving spouses. Pauline is also a great grandmother of 10 and with additional on the way. She is also survived by her dog Zoey and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Ann Zvonek and Julia Hicks and a nephew Frank Zvonek. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Pinky's caregiving team. We are forever grateful for the compassion and kindness you all showed Pinky every day. Friends may call on Friday June 24, 2022 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
