Bruce Schroer, age 87, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN died February 22, 2024 at Tennova Hospital two weeks after a fall in his home.He was born in Palatka, FL and grew up in Maywood, IL. After high school, he received his BS from Simson College in Iowa. He had a long career at Illinois Bell and AT&T residing in Wheaton, IL and Grand Rapids, MI.After retiring, he became a driver for a small parcel delivery company, a role which he thoroughly enjoyed. He became a licensed pilot in his forties and was an avid golfer. In 2000 he relocated to Tellico Village and relished his life there. He was a founding member of Rainbow Linksters, and he became an active member and former treasurer of the Tellico Village Solo Club.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Babette, and his son, Steven. Army and a former employee of Elm Hill.Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Pickell Shubert; parents, Vaughn and Dorothy Shubert, and sister, Sharon Hart. Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Brandy Shubert, Travis and Vanessa Shubert; grandchildren: Andrew Shubert (fiancee, Savannah Raper), Riley Hale and Isaiah Hale; sister, Anita McNew (Oscar); sisters-in-law, Linda Gardner and Ella Kelso; along with several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 24th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Charles William Beachler, age 78, of Loudon, died peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Marjorie, his parents Charles M. and Mabel Beachler, sister-in-law, Barbara Teaster and brother-in-law, Homer Ferguson.A compassionate husband, brother, father, uncle and grandfather, he is survived by his daughter, Debbie Kennedy (Eddie), grandchildren, Jessica Blevens (Kyle) and Lyndon Kennedy, sister, Cinde Bellamy (Rod), brother-in-laws, Ken and Pete Ferguson, nieces, Autumn Lamb (Chris) and Ann Dodson (David), nephews, Bob Nancarrow, Ron Bellamy (Katie) and Mike Ferguson (Cathy), and several additional loving relatives.Chip was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and grew up in Sarasota, Florida. In high school, he participated in football, swimming, the orchestra and circus. After graduating, he enlisted in the Marines serving his country proudly as a decorated Sargent for four years and in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to school, graduated from East Tennessee State University and began a career with TVA in Knoxville. He worked as a Manager in the areas of Engineering Design, Environmental Systems and Information Services until retiring in 1997.Beyond his professional career, Chip had many passions. He was an amazing artist, sculptor and wood worker. He could fix anything and was called on to do so by family and friends alike. He designed his own home and acted as his own general contractor. He also enjoyed sailing, playing the guitar, traveling and trying new restaurants. His free spirit, gentle soul and tremendous heart will be missed by many. Alvin Meriwell Johnson

Alvin “Al” Meriwell Johnson peacefully passed away in his sleep at his Loudon, TN home on February 9, 2024, at the age of 87. He was born on January 31, 1937, to Giles and Janie Johnson in Gretna, VA. Al excelled in sports, notably scoring the first touchdown in Gretna High School football history. He earned his degree in Accounting from Lynchburg College and later married his beloved Patsy Sharpe in 1982, with whom he shared three children: Jeff, Lisa, and Jennifer.Al dedicated himself to a fulfilling career, overseeing the accounting department in the Naval Nuclear Fuel Division at B & W until his retirement. He and Patsy cherished their time in Loudon, indulging in boating, golf, and observing fellow golfers tackle the 16th hole on Tanasi from their sunroom. A passionate music enthusiast, Al lent his voice to church choirs and the Knoxville Choral Society, often gracing family and friends' weddings with his singing. Together, Al and Patsy explored the world, immersing themselves in diverse cultures and historic landmarks.He is survived by his son Jeff Johnson (Masako) of Leesburg, VA, stepdaughters Lisa S. Farley (Bill) of Huddleston, VA, Jennifer A. Jarvis (Bill) of Southport, NC, sisters Ann Roach of Gretna, VA, Eleanor Amos of Jacksonville, FL, brother Mack Johnson of Gretna, VA, grandchildren Yusuke Johnson (Niki) of Leesburg, VA, Erik Johnson (Rachel) of Philadelphia, PA, Logan Jarvis (Pate) of Charlottesville, VA, Hannah Westover (Baxter) of Charlotte, NC, and great-granddaughter Jolie G. Westover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Johnson, parents Giles and Janie Johnson, sister Bernell Mayhew, and brother Aubrey Johnson.A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 11:00 am, at the Community Church at Tellico Village, 130 Chota Center, Loudon, Tennessee.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Community Church at Tellico Village.

Dora Ann Lowe, age 78, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 20, 2024. She was born and raised in Loudon, attended local schools and loved Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids meant the world to her. She loved spending time with her sisters, recently talked about how happy she was to have gotten two parakeets and how excited she was to make snow cream. She joked just last week that she wanted to build a snowman however it was too cold to get out. Dora was preceded in death by her husband; James Lowe Sr., Son; Mark Lowe, parents; Paul and Josephine Berry, sister; Betty Roberts, brothers; Allen Berry and Sterling Berry. She is survived by her children; James Lowe Jr., daughter Patricia Brown, son-in-love Ryan; grandchildren Jessica Weatherwax (Nick), Jake Lowe (Kayla), Savannah Fike, Alyssa Lowe (Miguel), Katelynn Brown and Mathew Brown. Great grandchildren Aliyah, Kaiden, Sophie, Mason, and Santiago; sisters Patsy Willis, Jerry Ramsey, Kay Pitts and Frankie Jenkins; as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Loudon Funeral Home. Rev. Sammy Thomas will be officiating.

Clarence F. Allison age 76 of Loudon passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Clarence was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Yale Security after 48 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Humbert Allison; parents, John and Mary Kate Mills Allison. Clarence is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Schroth (Steve); grandchildren, Jacob Mabry, Emily Schroth, and Lea Schroth; son, Bryan Allison and his family; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 25th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sammy Maynard officiating. It’s with a heavy heart that I announce my mother, Jackie Van Campen, 84, of Loudon, TN passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born in Marquand, Missouri, but lived a large portion of her adult life in Iowa and Florida. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Lola, husband Phillip, son Monty, brother Homer, sister Mickie, and her beloved dog Sunshine. She is survived by her one son Gilbert; three sisters Verla, Betty, and Sandy; two grandkids Justin and Cicely; and five great grandkids Tyler, Isabel, Jacob, Gage, and Caelan. Jackie had many cherished friendships too. She was much loved, and will be missed, by all who knew her. My mother asked that she be cremated and there not be a funeral. Per her request there will be no service. Mom asked that her loved ones just hold onto their happiest memories of her. No flowers please. For those wishing to honor Jackie’s life, please donate in her memory to sbret.com or an animal shelter near you. I wanted to take a moment to thank River Grove Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Loudon TN for the care and support they provided my mother the last few years.

He spent the years 1976-2000 working at Maremont before retiring after 21 years of working at Kimberly Clark. Billy Joe was Loudon High School Class of 1975 and was especially proud to be a member of the 1974 State Champion Loudon High School Football Team, proudly wearing #71. Billy Joe was preceded in death by parents, Albert Presley and Beatrice Leonard Presley Scott; Mother and Father in law, Herbert and Beulah Hill; Several aunts, uncles, and a cousin. He is survived by wife of 43 years, Deanie Presley; Son, Rocky Rogers (Linda); Brother, Albert Presley Jr. (Joan) of Loudon; Uncle, Jackie Leonard; Brother in law, James Hill (Vickie), Steven Hill (Sandy); Billy Joe is also survived by several nieces, a nephew, extended family, and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 5:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Harrell officiating. The graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Roberson Springs Cemetery.

She worked at Hardee’s in Loudon for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim McMahan, parents; William "Bill" and Barbara "Susie" Roberts, sisters; Amanda Mitchell and Debbie Birge, brother, Eddie Roberts. She is survived by brother, Danny Roberts, sisters; Melissa "Missy" Roberts, Helen McKee, Michelle Worley and husband Eddie, Brenda Scott, and Betty Guider, step siblings; Gwen Allen, Greg Lynn, and Randy Lynn, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 5-7pm at Loudon Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Ferrell Green officiating. Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 1pm at New Riverside Cemetery.

Colonel Norman Gustitis

Colonel Norman Gustitis passed away January 8, 2024. He was the son of Margaret and Michael Gustitis. He was born in Scobey, Montana in 1934. Norman graduated from Scobey High School. He graduated from West Point Military Academy and married Marie (Toni) McCue in 1958. He was commissioned as a 2nd LT of Armor and Army Aviation. They raised four children. He was on many tours besides Vietnam where he flew helicopters. He retired from United Airlines after 25 years of service as a Captain in 1994. He settled on a farm in White Pine, Tennessee before moving to Maryville and then Loudon. During his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at the Community Food Connection, reading to elementary students at a local school and driving Veterans to the VA Hospital. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Norman was also a West Point recruiter and recruited some of the first female cadets into the Academy. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie; children, Norman Jr. of Houston, TX; Roxanne Gustitis of Anthem, AZ, Victoria Buckley of Anthem, AZ, and Jennifer Hunt of Loudon, TN; they had six granddaughters; Elizabeth Allen, Alexandra Newton, Emma Hunt, Madeleine Gustitis, Caroline Gustitis, and Camille Gustitis; and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Allen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Smith Trinity Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Father Pete Iorio officiating. The Burial will be held at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
