Robert Carl Bray, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on December 2, 2023, at the age of 83. Born on January 2, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, Robert was the son of the late Carl Bray and Margaret Golden. He grew up in Oak Cliff, Texas, where he attended Sunset High School. He then furthered his education by attending El Centro Junior College and then to North Texas University where he received his bachelor's degree. Robert proudly served in the Air Force, dedicating his time and efforts to the defense of his country. Robert had a zest for life and pursued many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed riding his golf cart, camping in his travel trailer, and exploring National Parks across the country. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his cherished grand kids. His love for them was immeasurable and brought him immense happiness. On his journey called life, Robert found a lifelong partner in his beloved wife, Linda Gale Bray. Together, they created a beautiful life and lasting memories. His wife, Linda of Blooming Grove survives him, along with their children: daughter Patti Pitts and husband Jim Pitts of Blooming Grove, daughter Kimberly Laywell and husband Hank Laywell of Cameron, and son Robert Bray and wife Steely Bray of Blooming Grove. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Whitney Brown, Brint Bray and fiance Maggie Dragoo, Devan Bray, Landry Laywell, Corben Bray, Elli Bray, and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents father Carl Bray, mother Margaret Chapman, stepfather Morris Chapman, his brother Bill Bray, and his grandparents. A visitation will be held at Corley Funeral Home on Thursday, December 7, from 11am to 1pm, allowing family and friends to pay their respects. Following the visitation, graveside services will take place at 2pm at Rosehill Cemetery in Blooming Grove with Bro. Grady Cashion and Bro. Bryan Connally officiating. Robert Carl Bray will forever be remembered for his kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
